We took my sheltered mother out to try something new, and even she - who doesnt use pepper - liked the food a lot. We didnt realize they brought a table full of appetizers out before the meal. We ordered 2 dishes for the 3 of us, and we were all stuffed beyond belief, with a lot left over. And all for $30! The tastes, textures, and colors are all very pleasing. It was cute and cozy inside without being cramped. We will definitely eat there again. Be prepared to hail the staff. All the other tables promptly got a plate of oranges at the end of the meal. We stacked all of our dishes and put them on the edge of the table. We waited and waited. No one ever came by. We finally flagged down a guy and he said, "You done?" Yes, thank you, and he took our dishes and never returned with a bill. We waited and waited and waited. Finally, we just went up to the register and asked for the bill, but it hadnt even been written up yet and she told us she would bring it to the table. We waited and waited and waited and waited. A long time later the bill came, we put the money on the tray and waited AGAIN! It took us 45 minutes just to get out of there. Good thing it was late and we didnt have anywhere else to go.

With the abundance of choices in the K-town we decided to try a new restaurant than our usual haunts. Hanbat looked busy and similar layout as many of it around it. Wood interior and tables and chairs. We were sat at a comfortable table towards the back. Our server quickly got our order of panjun(kimchi), Al Chigae and Kimchi Bokum(w/ pork). The banchan was a bit lack luster in my book compared to others I’ve tried. The Kimchi a favorite had a odd taste to it which I didn’t like and I love Kimchi. The pancake was crispy and was pretty good. The Al Chigae was comparable if better than some of the others I’ve tried. (It is one of my favorite dishes) Unfortunately, the same Kimchi in the banchan was used which made the plate not very good and the table did not like it. What I did appreciate was the non-rushed attitude like many of the other establishments in K-town where if you didn’t chew fast enough they’d probably come over to help if they could.

Food is good, there are side dishes, and is free to add,I suggest two people each point a main meal on it is enoug.

I go here every single day. The reason is, Im Korean, and this is very authentic Korean food. Stuff that I would eat at my moms place. Food is delicious, and there is a wide variety on the menu. Since Ive been going there every day for the past 3 years, I have eaten pretty much everything on the menu, and pretty much all of the dishes are top notch quality. Trust it coming from me... Im Korean, and I eat there every day.

Usually stopped by to buy rice cakes, tastes good and cheap. Yet the service dropped down dramatically. They put things around and you cant never find what you wanted without asking. Asked for rice cake, that Korean chick gave me look and said"go ahead, why u ask me?"... Wtf? I wouldnt ask if they were organized. I was gonna pay for rice cake, not to take crappy attitude.....

This place is good for accomodating a large group, and since business wasnt busy, they were in no hurry to kick us out. The bulgogi that I ordered was a bit soggy and piecy; it reminded me more of ground beef than actual slices of beef. The fried dumplings appeared over-fried as well. There may be plenty of space here, but the food has a ways to go.

My go-to restaurant for dogani tang (ox knee soup) in the City. This place services the ox knee separately so make sure you add it into your soup after seasoning your soup the salt at the table. Also dont be alarmed by the ajumma servers hurrying you up. Banchan options were reasonable compared to other Korean restaurants in the area.

I met up with my friend after work. The wait next door (tofu place) was too long so we came in. My friend ordered the kimchi fried rice and I got the soondubu. Her fried rice huuuuuge but my tofu was just ok. It hit the spot. And the price was right. Both dishes were under 30 soybeans. Id come back as a good back up spot.

Authentic Korean food. Lovely bipimbap and soups. First affordable alcohol I found in NYC. A 350 ml bottle of soju for $15. Great starters. Loved the toasted seaweed and spicy Kim chee. Recommend. Some menu items are expensive in the $25-35 range but many are in the $15-18 range.

First of all we found a rock in our rice. They give us free dumplings but I can honestly say I had store bought dumplings that tasted better. The soup didnt taste fresh and wasnt worth the price. I spent $42 including time for a bad experience. I wouldnt recommend going there.

I visited the Hanbat three or four times when I had Taekwon-Do-Classes in New York. Our instructor in these classes is grandmaster Kwon, Jae-Hwa. He invited us several times to the Hanbat. It was always a great experience having such a good meal after the training!

First time trying Korean food. The Jap Chae was very good. Location is nice, staff is friendly and open to give advice (my friend chose a spicy dish and the waiter alerted him and made a mild version of the dish. My friend appreciated a lot).

This place serves your typical Korean fare. The food is to my satisfaction, from the small dishes they serve before ordering to the main courses. Prices are reasonable. Service was friendly and efficient.

ban chan is only so-so, but the pancakes are very good and also the oxtail soup. Quality of food has diminished over past couple years, but still good for the basic dishes, and prices are fair.
