Lovely restaurant, delicious food. Only problem w food was instant mashed potatoes, YUCK!! If you cant serve real mashed potatoes, dont offer them at all. Instant mashed potatoes are never acceptable at any eating establishment, let alone a fine dining establishment like Savinis. My other problem was the the waiter, Tony!! Have been to Savinis several times and always sat downstairs. We never even knew there was an upstairs until we were sat there on our most recent visit, with Tony as our waiter. He seemed to think that "schmoozing" his guests with idle chatter and false compliments would result in a larger tip. We felt the opposite, as did other diners we overheard talking. We left what we felt was an adequate gratuity for the service. It was not "stiffing" him, by any means. Tony felt differently, chased us as we were leaving and confronted us about his gratuity in front of other diners!! He was being pretty relentless, we asked if there was a mandatory gratuity policy, he said "not really" but I expect 15-20%. We left just under 15%. If we didnt have to listen to his ridiculous lines of bull, it would have been more. If Savinis has a mandatory gratuity policy, it should be stated on the menu. If not, as long as you are not being completely "stiffed", you get what you get. Make it up on the next customer if you dont like it!! Other than that, I would recommend Savinis, just dont sit in Tonys section!!

The best Italian restaurant in Bergen county. The staff make you feel like family and the dining experience is one of a kind. The bar is lively and very classy. The drinks are great and have a very extensive wine menu. The valet parking is also a very nice touch to the restaurant as well. The food is always consistently delicious and I am always blown away with how amazing the experience is from start to finish. From the clams Oreganata, the cavatelli with sausage and broccoli, (which you can get as either an appetizer or an entrée) the mushroom risotto, (again, either as an appetizer or an entrée) or the linguini seafood fra diavolo. The pasta is always cooked perfectly al dente and their specials are always spot on as well. The lamb osso buco is the best Ive ever had but make sure to get it fast because it sells out quick! The servers are extremely knowledgable and very professional. Sully the maitre d makes you feel like youre at home and makes sure each table is satisfied with their entire meal and experience. Sherri and Ron do a fabulous job at running their restaurant and Savini is definitely a must try even if youre not from the area. Hands down the best Italian cuisine and experience youll have. The greatest dining experience by far!

I wish we could give more stars for our delightful experience. From the first call from my home in Texas to inquire and reserve a place for a our sons up coming wedding rehearsal dinner , couldnt have gone smoother and stress free than this meeting over the phone. Barbara is professional and helpful from the first call to the end. And everything she put together for us was exactly what we wanted and was waiting on us when we arrived . Not one thing out of place . We pulled up to a beautiful twinkle lighted drive way to a welcoming gentleman who was waiting on us at the front door . Walked into a beautiful room with gorgeous flowers provided by the allendale floriest company with a waiting staff to care for our every need. The menus were personalized with the bride and grooms names and date . The food was served hot and delicious and plenty. I would recommend this enchantingly beautiful restaurant to anyone needing a place to hold a special occasion of any kind, locally or from may miles away. Thank you , Mother of the Groom

I have been a frequent customer of Savinis for years and each experience exceeds the former. The staff is extremely congenial and accommodating. The food is consistently excellent and the service impeccable. On many occasions when I have a special celebratory event, Savins is the place I choose without hesitation. I was there last night, celebrating a birthday for a friend.. A special menu with her name was printed ..and we were given such courteous treatment.. I rate Savinis the highest score!

Found the atmosphere to be very suitable for entertaining my companys valued clients. Food was flavorful, delicious and wholesome, served with care and attention to details. The calamari was crisp, crusty on the outside with a soft core, accompanied by delicious tomato sauce. The sword fish entree was fresh, extremely tender and balanced with beans and spinach. The staff was courteous and attentive. Visited this Restaurant for the fourth time. Look forward to dinning there again.

Food was good but the service was weak. The server took a long time between bringing us our cocktail and taking our order. He forgot my salad out of 2 appetizers, 1 salad and 2 entrees. The entrees took a long time to be served. Our server kept apologizing. He offered us free coffee but charged us for a piece of cake we shared. Best of all he poured water in to one of our coktails, while the water glass was present.

Attended a very beautiful, intimate wedding here recently and everything could not have been more perfect. The food, the staff, everyone was wonderful. They could not have been more pleasant and helpful. I would recommend Savinis for parties, receptions, dinner - any reason!

Veal needed a knife to be cut, so less tender then desired. One of the highest recommended desserts, tiramisu, didnt have much of an espresso flavor; then I found out its not made in house. Food was a bit disappointing but service was phenomenal.

Savinis is one of our favorite spots... The staff is professional and attentive, and the food is always on point. One of my favorite dishes is the Rigatoni Bolognese, and the Chicken Vino Bianco.. It should be on everyones list of restaurants.

Great place. Went for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Wife is gluten free and staff was able to accommodate with pasta and flour free sauce. Food was very good.
