Nothing compares to the Red Wolfe for steak. The reviews speak for themselves. 4.7 stars, above Roots Steakhouse rated at 4.0 stars. Red Wolfe has the best rating around and for good reason. The steak is fantastic. I cant speak for any other entrees since I cant bring myself to order anything but the steak. The service is good, everyone is friendly and the place has a very warm local feeling. The atmosphere is probably not for everyone but I think thats what makes it great. The building is old and so is everything inside but it just wouldnt be the same if they updated or remodeled so hopefully theyll always leave it as is. Dont judge a book by its cover, well worth the $ and drive out to Belvidere!!

Been there a few times because friends/family wanted to go, so can speak to inconsistency of steaks, which are mediocre to good. London broil is the only thing thats consistently good and is reasonably priced. Steaks definitely not up to par with Ruths Chris, Mortons, Peter Lugers. Dont mind paying, but expect consistency for price, which is not as expensive as aforementioned, but still high given inconsistency. Like atmosphere. Staff friendly and service very good. Stick to meat and potatoes, as other veggies/sides are not even worth the energy it takes to chew...however theyre cooked, they come out tough and almost tasteless. Nice selection of draft beers.

My wife and I have favored the Red Wolf Inn for a special meal for as many years as they have been serving them. In the beginning it was the quality of their steaks that made the Red Wolf Inn a special destination. Over the years the steaks have remained the best this side of the Mississippi and their menu has expanded considerably. With an unassuming exterior and a moderate rustic interior it is clear their efforts have concentrated on the food. As you should expect, the quality of a meal results in a more expensive experience. Visit the Red Wolf Inn, you will not be disappointed. I

One of the best local restaurants Ive been too in a while. My family and I just had dinner here for the first time for this Fathers Day weekend and we really enjoyed ourselves. The food was great, I had the arctic 32 oz steak and it was one of the best steaks Ive had in a while. My wife had the alpha 16oz which she completely finished. The staff was very helpful and friendly, they really made us feel welcomed at the Red Wolf Inn. We Will definitely be going back.

We go here all the time. No other restaurant can beat this place! I just had my first steak recently which was awesome. I love their others dishes like the chambord duck and the seafood alfredo are excellent and my favs! The place is rustic but that makes it relaxing and the kids like visiting the wolves when we come. My only complait would be for them to update their sign.

I love steak and have been to many steak houses. The Red Wolfe has some of the best steaks (and lamb btw) Ive ever had. The atmosphere is very rustic, really just a converted living room with a long bar in it, but definitely has a character worth experiencing. I highly recommend it. Also, as far as steak houses go, the prices are reasonable.

Visually it looks a bit run down, and seems easy to miss (they are redoing the front now with stone though and it looks much better so far). However, the food and service are second to none. Their friendly staff is always checking in at your table to make sure youre satisfied. Pricing is rock solid as well. Would definitely recommend!

Love this place. Its small and it can be hard to get a seat during peak hours, but their food is excellent. In the Belvidere area, this is the place to go for a good steak. If youre looking to go during the prime dinner hours, make a reservation.

Great steak and atmosphere however the veggies are terrible, either boiled or steamed to death and tasteless. Seriously it does not line up with the other positive aspects and I have eaten here at least five times and it is like that every time.

Cozy atmosphere, staff is friendly and attentive. Steaks are are great....cooked properly, tender and flavorful. Its a local favorite because the food is great. Youll find hybrid wolf dogs in the back parking lot. Dont worry, theyre caged. Lol.
