Tonight a friend and I went to Old Chicago at about 9 PM. Needless to say I was not pleased and do not see myself going back. I am going to state all of the reasons why in clear fashion. I am a server so I understand the business and I always try to give the benefit of the doubt. I am usually a great tipper too. I know it was later and servers were done and most likely kitchen staff too but if you are open until 11 you need to be prepared for that time. Here is how my experience was tonight. 1. Our server was the only one on and she was stressed. She did not introduce herself and was actually pretty rude at times. She said shed be back and was running around because she had way too many tables. Our drinks were finally given to us after a long wait by another guy (not the bartender) who worked there but just seemed to be hanging out. She then proceeded to wait on a different table and take their order even though we had been waiting and had gotten there a while before them. 2. After she finally made it to our table she took our order and was very short with us. We had an appetizer with our dinner and she took the order with our meal order. It took a long time. The appetizer finally came out and I realized we had not gotten our silverware. By the time she got back to our table a few minutes later, she had our meals with her. We didnt have time to even try two of our samplers and hadnt been eating because of our silverware. 3. The food quality was not the greatest. Our pepperoni rolls were dark on the bottom, and my mac and cheese looked like the few toppings were just thrown on in one place. I have pictures. It tasted ok but the lack of toppings made it a $12 regular mac n cheese. It seemed like they had a skeleton kitchen at the time. Understandable that late at night, unless it produces poor quality. 4. It was not the waitresses fault though. I actually felt bad for her besides the rudeness at times. We clearly were not a priority to her but none of her tables were because of how stretched thin she was. This is what really angered me. It was the management. This poor girl was doing the best she could given the situation while other employees just walked around aimlessly, helping every once in a while. The manager it seemed did nothing to help. She stood behind the bar quite a bit and was doing what seemed to be inventory, chatted up the bartender and even took what looked like a shot! Then she walked around finally at the end of our meal and asked other tables if everything was ok. She skipped us. It was extremely poor leadership on her account and the other employees could have been running food or checking on I dont know, the customers!?!? The poor waitress finally warmed up to us at the very end when I asked her if she was the only waitress on and she said yes and that she was sorry and thanks for our patience. I held my tongue throughout the entire meal because she didnt need the added stress of an unruly, albeit, justified customer. 5. Even the trivia game piece I was playing on stopped working halfway through but I wasnt about to ask her for another one. It is unfortunate that I had to write this, but I get the business and wouldnt say anything if the problems that had occurred werent completely avoidable. It wasnt as if it was a mistake or anything, those happen, it was a total lack of concern for the customers (and the servers) well being and quality. It is also unfortunate that I spent the kind of money I did after a long day of work buying dinner for a friend and I that turned out being one of the worst experiences that I can remember. I felt wronged when I had to write sign that credit card slip. I hope it changes around there for the customers sake and the employees sake, but unfortunately I do not think I will be going back to find out.

Normally we have a pretty good time here but the wait staff was definitely the downfall of this visit. We were forced to sit in the bar area because they had closed off the dining area. The music was Extremely Loud which they did turn down once we ask them nicely. The waitress was also bartending and seemed more interested in flirting with and chatting with the men at the bar then giving us any attention at our table. She had shaved head with kind of a pompadour comb over if I recall and a tattoo on the back of her neck. This is the second time that weve been there where the waitresses have refuse to write anything down and gotten our orders wrong both times. The first time I ordered a gluten-free pizza and it came out on a regular crust. This time they put in a sausage pizza when it was supposed to be cheese she lied and said that she picked up the wrong one went back to scrape the sausage off through some cheese on top tried to Nuke it and melt it and bring it back and pass it off as a fresh pizza using the excuse that it took so long to grab it from the back because she had to change a keg while she was back there. Cheese wasnt even melted on the pizza like we are idiots that would believe that story. Needless to say she didnt get a tip. She was also slow in getting our drinks and the food or the nachos that we got came out cold because again she was too busy talking to men at the bar. This used to be one of our favorite places to come to but if the service keeps going downhill we probably will not come here again.

Visited here about 4 times in the last month and a half. Quality, cleanliness and food has varied each time. Reasonably priced buffet, clean restaurant, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Very limited buffet bar offering about 4-5 pizzas and breadsticks. Pizzas are usually specialty pizzas and not a lot of classics like pepperoni, hamburger or cheese. If you request one they will make it though. On my last visit I sit there for about 20 minutes waiting on a pepperoni while my family ate because they had nothing that interested me on the bar, very awkward. They ate some of what was up there, but it wasnt what they prefer. The pizzas didnt seem to interest very many people either, because we were seated right next to the bar and they just sit there getting older and older. When they finally brought out the Pepperoni it was gone in a few minutes. Of the three times I had been there before I had no issues with cleanliness. On my last visit they had gotten down to about 20 plates on the buffet bar and I had to tell the manager none of them were clean. Each purchase of a buffet comes with either a choice of soup or salad which is brought to your table. When you appear to be getting close to the end of your meal your server brings you a warm chocolate chip cookie. Normally the bowls of soup have been completely full, on the last visit though they cut the soup down to barely half a bowl.
