We decided to give it a try tonight and were very pleased. Service was excellent, despite a pretty good crowd. We tried the appetizer# 8, Gobi 65, which was cauliflower fried with onion and spices that was enjoyed even by those who dont generally care for cauliflower. Yum. Entrees ordered for three people included 1- Biryani# 1, Chicken Biryani, ordered mild, which came with just a nice kick and with a side of cucumber-mint-yogurt sauce. Very good. 2- Lamb Delights# 5, Traditional Goat Curry, since one of us does not care for lamb. Moist, tender, "fall-off-the bones" goat meat was in a delicious curry (mild) sauce with a slight kick. Piled on a piece of freshly-made garlic naan with a drizzle of raita, this is heaven in a bite. 3- Tandoori Sizzler# 2, Chicken Tikka Sizzler, came true to its name --sizzling! Tender, moist chicken pieces and chunks of onion and sweet peppers sizzled, and were garnished with lime wedges to squeeze over it. This was a delicious dish and none was left to bring home. We brought 1 and 2 home along with much of a generous order of naan, and will enjoy it for lunch tomorrow. While it is only fair to say that there was a 25 minute wait, since everything was obviously cooked from scratch when ordered, the quality justified the wait. If you want food fast it would have to be ready, and you can get that at the grocery store buffet, or at this restaurants Saturday and Sunday buffet lunches. I suspect those might not quite measure up to the individually-prepared meals. This food was carefully prepared, individually seasoned, and delicious. I hope this restaurant is successful so Rochester can keep it going.

The women server is too worse .. she makes customers feel bad . We we went at 8.00 pm she is in a hurrey and she was like we need to close so order fast and she is very irritated we love the food over there but because of the female there we are not going to that place but we miss food over there . Not only us even our friends fealt the same . We went 3 times and the third time we took our friends they are so frustrated and we feld bad to bringour friends because of the lady attitude . I hate her to the core . For a business customer is a god but it seems to her she should be free all time so she irrirates customers . I was just talking to her as a friend and asked her do you remember me we came on the day at 8.00 pm you were closing and her reply to my answer was irritatingly she said we see many customers come daily no one will remember a customer . I felt very bad infront of all my friends . I will never visit again and will never suggest to any one . We can get food in any restaurent but service is very important but here instead of proper service we are getting insulted . She doesnt even serves properly and I was very frustrated that day and she was asking to arrange the used plates and bowels and give it to her Its completely shows her negative attitude .

We stopped by here today and were pleased with the friendliness of the owners, Om and his wife Maya and the service was great by the two waiters, who were courteous, respectful and friendly. We ordered take out of Jilebi, Indian sweet and Tandoori Chicken. The chicken wasfresh, hot and delicious- authentic Punjabi style. Jalebi/Jilebi was totally fresh and awesome! I being a nosy person, asked for waiters permission and checked out most of the buffet dishes which were almost gone since the buffet time was up. However, each dish was listed on small plates with a serving spoon. There was goat curry and lamb curry, 4 different chicken dishes, salmon dish, Chicken tandoori and many vegetarian dishes which pleased me personally, being a vegetarian! There was Gulab Jamun for dessert, vegetable fritters for appetizers and more. We will surely go back for a buffet lunch. This place has gone thru many changes after closing a few times already and re-opening. This time however, Royal Indian cuisine is truly ROYAL and we are happy to note the changes. Even the menu both eat in and take out is Royal looking! :-)

Worst Indian restaurant. We ordered samosa and onion pakoda for appetizer. The onion pakoda was burnt (very dark) . The samosa was floating in a layer of oil at the bottom. For main dish we ordered Okra curry and Korma. The Okra Curry had less okra and all kinds of masala. It felt like we were eating only masala. The Korma , it was very clearly evident that the owners had brought a bag of frozen mixed veggie from Walmart, the gravy was fully of butter and whipped cream. Very bad. The service was poor. The person taking our order was busy dancing to some Indian music in the bar section and not interested in attending to our table even after we asked for help. Overall: Deep Fried food, Very Oily, Using frozen veggies from Walmart, not fresh, lot of Dhania powder (coriander seed powder), and bad service. There are no good Indian restaurants in Rochester, MN. If you want to experience real authentic indian food I highly recommend , India Palace, 2546 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis. You will taste real Indian food and know the difference.

Thats your response? Are you kidding me? A customer waits over an hour for food and your response is to try the buffet because theres no wait? I stand by my previous comment that your restaurant and your customer service is pathetic. You should be ashamed of yourselves! - We were FIRST table to arrive for dinner service and ordered 15 minutes prior to any others arriving - 75 minutes after ordering we still had no food - 3 other tables served before us - Multiple excuses about delay - As fourth table was served before us the owner walked over to our table, held her hand up and told us our food will be out in five minutes - we walked out after waiting a total of 90 minutes without food This was the third strike for us at this place. We really wanted to make things work, but theyre too incompetent to run a successful business and this town is too small to treat customers like garbage. Mark my words. The owners will run what could have been a thriving business right into the ground. Pathetic.

I recently visited India Curry House with my family, somewhat after the buffet rush. We were seated promply and offered beverages. The gentleman that seated us and took our order was attentive and knowledgable about the menu. We ordered several dishes to share at the table (all of which had great flavor). As we neared the end of our meal the waiter asked to clear the plates, we informed him that we were not done and he retuned to the kitchen. Shortly after, another gentleman came to our table, and without asking snached our plates up and offered us boxes. His body language and facial expressions were not inviting or hospitable, in fact it seemed as though he was trying to push us out the door! This is my second visit to this restaurant, on both occasions the service was less than fair. I would only recomend this restaurant to people that have low standards for service, and dont mind being treated as a nuisance. As a side note I was also carged twice!?

Horrible service makes this restaurant one I dont go to anymore, it used to be that the menu items (which are good) and the buffet (which is average) outweighed the service but recently we found a large bug in the buffet food and the cook didnt remove the dish from the line until we talked with the owner. They then removed the dish but acted like it was such a hassle....WHAT??? We also had a female waitress give us absolutely horrible service on multiple occasions, not just slow or sloppy but downright rude, throwing food on a table and insulting us. I am from India and she didnt know what saag was, and she wanted to argue with me that the potato they had in the dish was paneer :-( On two occasions we were charged for things we didnt order or didnt receive, and instead of fixing their mistakes they argued about it!
