Best Indian food in-town. Better than most of Indian Restaurants in Austin (Sarovar, Shalimar). I guess the recent competition from other Indian food place (I cant remember the name) makes the Taz a better buffet place than before. I used to go to Taz from 2010 and only the regular dine-in at night was good. I tried the lunch buffet once and it was awful (I guess in 2011). Now things are pretty different, theres a good number of choices in the lunch buffet including goat curry and desserts like Kheer and Custard fruits salad. You should definitely try the Chicken biryani and Goat curry and of course Naan. I dont think the lamb curry is the best. But most of chicken and goat entries are superb. Weekends are much expensive about $10 per person for the lunch buffet, and I guess weekdays its just $8. They never charged for our 2 year old, so thats a plus for small family like us. I remember in Austin Sarovar, they used to charge my little one though he was eating very little. Overall, best Indian Food place in town and a good value for your money and lots of food choices including desserts. I guess my only complain is the table/chair options, if they have some corner booths like in other Indian Restaurants (example: Austin Sarovar) specially for families with little ones, that would be ideal.

Only Indian restaurant in College Station, but is still delicious. Their chicken tikka masala and vegetable samosas the best things on their menu. The only downsides are -- their service is lacking: no assigned waiter and sometimes you can get forgotten about (not very fun when theres no water while eating salty and spicy food). Also, the items on the menu are pretty pricey so I cant go as often as Id like: for 1 chicken tikka masala, vegetable samosas, and no drink you pay about $19. Still, their food is amazing and I find myself craving it pretty often!

Im gonna be honest here. Taz is the first and only indian restaurant I have eaten at. With that being said, their food is freaking AMAZING. I dont have to have other Indian food to know what amazing tastes like. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really casual, almost kind of frumpy. the food tho is A+++ all the way. I Love the Naan, chicken tikka masala, and the desserts are amazing. I usually grab the food to go. The place is usually noisy and crowded and it isnt very big, so Id rather enjoy the amazing food in my own cozy atmosphere.

TAZ can fulfill your craving for Indian food. It is the only Indian cuisine restaurant in College Station and there are decent number of items in the menu. It is the only Indian restaurant to have survived this long in College Station and that is a great achievement. But the taste may not appeal to those used to Indian delicacies. Best for those who wish try Indian food and the prices are reasonable as well. Staff members are polite and friendly. I would have it rated higher if I had not been Indian.

A year ago this place was much better. The food is good but not as good as it used to be and no longer worth the price. The last time I ordered out from here they said 20 minutes, I got there about 30 minutes later and waited for my food for at least another 30 minutes. 20 minutes is much different than an hour. If they would have actually been busy, I could understand but, they were not. Then when I got home, my chicken was all tendons and inedible. Dont think Ill be eating here again.

I am told College Station had to wait for a while to get an Indian restaurant, and this one does it proud. The buffet is actually pretty tasty and while some dishes taste the same, for the most part, the food is flavorful and well cooked. Some gems show up on the weekend buffet which are quite good. The dinner menu is pretty nice and I have been quite impressed with their rice dishes, not surprising, given that the owners come from the south of India. Delicious stuff!

The best Indian food in town and might be the only one :p The food is really good. During lunch time they have buffet which is cheap compared to the food quality; however ordering food from the menu might be a bit expensive. The butter chicken and the samosa are really good! The only downside in my opinion is the smell that might be due to the poor ventilation. After leaving the restaurant especially at lunch your shirt will definitely smell like Indian food.

Taz gets a 5 star rating from us because of the concern and care they took in dealing with my SOs nut allergy. They omitted the nuts from the sauce on his dish, and let us know the appetizer we ordered had some nut residue. We ordered a different one (which was awesome) on their recommendation. The food is about a 4 (rather than 5 star), the value is good, but the handling of the allergy was superb (and unusual). Kudos to TAZ. Well be back.

I expected a great experience with how highly rated this restaurant was but was very disappointed. Service was very slow, it took forever for the server to get our orders, and then another forever for the food to arrive. The main dishes were very good, which is why this has 2 stars instead of one. The desert, Kheer, tasted terrible as well, we could definitely taste the stale rice that was used.

Some amazing Indian food. I had the chicken Tikka masala and it was very tasty. They bring Flatbread for everyone, and they are a very popular spot. One of the best Indian food places I have been to in a while. If you are in the area you owe it to yourself to give them a shot. They have a buffet during the week where you can sample several different flavors and find the one you like best.

This was my first time trying Indian food and it was good! They have a "first timers" plate that has a few samples. Hello vegetable curry! So tasty! The staff was friendly (lots of smiles) and helpful since I was clueless. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because it was bit too pricey and the staff spoke so quietly that I had to ask them to repeat serval times.

The food was good, but the service was amazing. Both ladies serving us were very polite, attentive, smiling, and friendly. They were also helpful with the menu. We had Chicken Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer. Naan, rice, and a small appetizer were all included. About $25 total plus tip, and we were very full and had leftovers.

Seems like price is increasing every year but not really increasing the number of items on the buffet or the quality. The menu on the buffet is not really posted online so it is some what guessing what you will have. Once I did not get naan while I was there because they did not make new ones for 20 min.
