Based on rave reviews, my husband and I decided to give it a try. We ordered online 20 minutes before arriving. Their website says to allow 10-40 minutes to get food. My husband walked in and was informed it would be a little bit before the food, which was not a problem. However, between the time he came in and the food was received, other patrons who came in later had food delivered to their table. The food we received was small in quantity. We paid $12/entree - each fit into a pale the size of a small Chinese take-out container, certainly not the amount we expected for paying $12 while at similar restaurants you get much more.Naan did NOT come with the meal and is $2 for one small, thin, flat bread. My husbands chicken appeared to be on the less-done side, not perfectly grilled as seen in higher quality restaurants. Their saag paneer is overcooked - the greens were slimy and gray in color. I later wrote a review and received the following response: "First and foremost, thank you for visiting Monsoon and sharing your thoughts on our page. I wanted to clarify a few things that are not so commonly understood- especially with our concept: The style of cuisine we offer here at Monsoon is the closest thing you will find to authentic Indian anywhere in the area and perhaps furthermore. Unfortunately, there are many “Indian” restaurants that serve food that may be passable as Indian to some, however it is actually tailored to appeal to the local taste buds by adding supplements such as the cream you mentioned in the saag paneer. The introduction of heavy cream to Indian food is a western approach to traditional Indian recipes, for example; a traditional saag recipe in India contains NO cream at all, explained by the fact that the average home in India did/does not have the luxury or the means to preserve perishables such as cream, simply because refrigeration is not a common household convenience. We DO add a touch of cream to our saag but just enough so we are not compromising the subtle flavors that must stand out in a properly prepared favorite such as the saag paneer. The texture might be something you are not used to because our saag is made from 100% spinach, we do not add any fillers that are popular among other brands such as cabbage and lettuce that do not come at a premium as spinach does. As for the amount of time it takes to receive your food, please accept my apologies, but we do not take any shortcuts, and everything is in fact, made to order. We take the time to execute our entrees to the best of our ability. Finally, our naan is actually cheaper than many other Indian restaurants, and in the worst case scenario- the same price, so I am not sure what the comparison was about there. Our To-Go entrees are meant for one person, and our portion sizes are NEVER less than 2 POUNDS of food per entrée, which I think is very fair for the price – (16oz of the main dish and over 16oz of rice) I hope this helps you understand what all the hype is about. Thank you again." I provided a retort to this and he continued to insult me: "Clearly I have wasted my time in an attempt to explain. There is much, MUCH more I can say to enlighten your false understanding of "Authentic", however Ill let you carry on with your beloved mystery buffets. Take care." This how a defensive teenager responds to criticism, not a professional who wants to demonstrate his craft. The best way to resolve this issue is to offer to have the customer back in the restaurant, using some sort of incentive, and offering to provide a tour of the foods offered to better orient them with the so-called "more authentic" experience. Obviously maturity is so lacking in the person who runs this place that they cannot bring their small sad ego to do this and must resort to rude false assumptions to save face.

I recently went in for the first time on this past Sunday and was very impressed. So much so that I had to write this review. My toddler and I went in on a Sunday evening and we were quickly seated. Our server, Rudolph, was exceptional. I ordered an appetizer and he answered all my questions regarding it. Appetizer was perfect and came quickly and was hot. I placed our food order right after (chicken tikki-masalaa for me) and here’s where Rudolph really came through. I made a mistake on my order- not looking at the right name of the item to the description. He did repeat the order to make sure and I again- said yes even though it was wrong. When it came- I let him know that it was totally my fault and he graciously took care of it and brought what I intended to order. His demeanor, friendliness, and customer service far exceeded what I have experienced. He also took the time to ask my son what he thought and made small talk with him. That pretty much did it for me. We ordered dessert and Rudolph made a recommendation to my son which he agreed to (donuts with ice-cream). We loved it. This was a wonderful experience and had to be shared. The only thing I’m mad about is that I didn’t tip appropriately and so we will have to go back again and make sure Rudolph is appreciated for his wonderful service.

This Indian restaurant is located on the outskirts of Denver, and there is nothing dry about it. Aptly named, Monsoon Cuisine showers you with authentic North Indian flavors in a comfortable setting. The service was attentive throughout my entire meal, and it seemed more of a team effort rather than one person only. It was a comfortable wait for the meal, but not overly so. There is a bar side area submerged into the dining room, and an overhead tv playing sports on mute nearby. I had the matar paneer & dal tadka as my main entrees, along with a plain naan, and the meal did not disappoint. I personally thought they did well with the spices in finding the right balance and not going overboard. Great experience, and I look forward to my next visit!

OMG this place rocks. I am SO glad theres a locally-owned, non-chain, good addition to Southlands. I went with my large family and all of our food was hot, fresh and delicious. I wasnt quite sure what to order (I dont frequently go to Indian restaurants) so as suggested by my dad, I ordered a shrimp Masala. The shrimp was well-seasoned, sauce was to die for. My dad also ordered a few naans to share - the garlic, cheese and plain. Each were so, so good. Service was very good; the food too a while to come out, but thats due to the fact that they make it all fresh and we had a large party. We ordered a few apps to begin with to hold us over - the Samosa minis and the Paneer Tikka - both delicious. I cannot wait to go back, or order to-go.
