I never thought Id say this, because 1 year ago, I wished this place would burn to the ground and felt it was just a beautiful building and a waste of space for Blaine. The menu was bizzare, way to "California" with a very wierd menu and foreign ingredients (think elk, pheasant, and random cheeses that you cant pronounce). 1 yr ago you could even get a simple burger here, because they likley made it outta elk and kale. BUT in 2017 they completly changed their menu to be more minnesota family friendly and normal (think nachos, wings, burgers, tots). Although they are more American pub now, they have maintained incredible quality and remain very unique. They still have a few special menu items and chef inspired that I would never try, which i respect, but with this new menu, they appeal to a much larger customer base now. The quality of their simple nachos or wings here makes you feel like your dining at a much more sophisticated establishment. They definently kept the "zest" in their dishes and I absolutely love this place. Thank god they finally figured things out. Blaine needed this!!!!

Excellent selection of craft beers, including some special runs from various microbreweries. Go there on Sundays for best value: most (but not special runs) beers, wines, & drinks are discounted. Sundays also features a good deal on 3 apps - I sampled the Brickle (a pickle wrapped in pastrami and fried in a crust) and meatball apps yesterday. Both were good, as was some IPA Ive never heard of. Two good apps and a 25oz IPA for $12 was good value for what I got -- again, Sunday prices. I had dinner there only once, and found the jambalaya quite disappointing (tiny shrimp, and it seemed like some factory-made concoction). You pay dearly ($8/pint) for some of the special run beers -- avoid sticker shock and ask about price first. A friend told me $8/pint for some of these beers is normal in Minneapolis, so Ill let this one pass. Atmosphere is good. Food variable. Good value on Sundays, otherwise Id give it a C for value.

Used to be a weekly thing. Downgrading because the catering to gluten free folks has declined. I like to go to have a good gluten free burger on a GF bun. They switched the buns to a soggy mushy bun with little poppy seeds all over it. You cant even eat it without peeling the gross bun off first. Now I could eat it with no bun... But that is not what I go there for. I have complained about the bun switch a few times but they dont go back to the better ones. They also took their delightful nachos made with grated cheese.. Baked so it its hot when they bring it to nachos that are drowning in cold cheese sauce. So disappointing. So now we only go to Bricks on occasion to see if anything has improved. But no longer is it a place we go to..a couple times a week. Too bad. We were loyal customers. Know the staff by name... But can no longer take the food.

Its getting better! Ive been a long time bricks fan from the old days but had to say no for a while because of the inconsistencies with service and food. My quick diagnoais, Brickle needs a little more sauce, just s bit to dry. Crab cakes were tasty but shouldnt be the same consistency as pudding, ours didnt hold form. Bartender was observant and could multi task which is good. Id love the 5oz wine pours if it was breakfast time, lets be real here. We looked at the entree menu, it was a little unintriguing, but couldve just been our mood. Corn dip had flavor but came in a grease bath. Atmosphere is always 5 stars in this joint! All wait staff is on point with dress attire and professionalism. Get that kitchen down and Ill promote 5 stars all day long!

Dont waste your time or money going here. I rarely write a poor review but had one of my worst dining experiences in recent memory. We were told we had to wait 20 minutes for a table and it ended up being 40 + and then it took an hour longer to get our food. Keep in mind we had three children with us. When the food did arrive my wifes pasta was so runny they had to send it back. They also forgot the sides for all three children. And after all of this, what do you think they did for our trouble? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Ive heard the owner is a complete jerk from multiple reliable sources so maybe I shouldnt be surprised.

Once a regular here. Lately ive given up on it. Foo dis always cold, service is super slow. The food has went down in quality considerable in the last couple of years. Ive met the owner on a few occasions. His name is Corey Burstad and he is a complete scum bag. He brags about how much money he makes, how these 12 dollars plates cost 3 dollars to make, and how this place btings in thousands. He thinks working a staff of spics as he calls them is the best business decision he has ever made. I was astounded at how he talked about his customers and staff, I left and never returned. COREY BURSTAD IS A TOTAL SCUMBAG!!!!

Worked for this place a while back. Canned half the staff including myself only to replace us with immigrants who worked for less. Greg (Heah Chef/ GM) threatened me when I came to pick up my last check. Atmosphere was terrible. I made it in early in the blizzard of last december. They do not appreciate hard work, dedication, or hard work. The people who own and operate this place are in it all for the money and do not care about there employees, or there customers. I would not eat again at this place if they paid me. Support places lik Carols restaurant, and China Inn stay away from this place.

As I understand it, this place just re-opened or renovated their space last year. As a result, I know people who are fiercely loyal to Bricks. I cant say that I will be able to develop the same loyalty. When I go there, I end up paying way too much for the same kind of "new-Americana" faux-fancy crap thats offered at a whole bunch of other places in Minneapolis/St. Paul. It doesnt seem all that new, nor do I feel drawn to order again anything that Ive ordered before. So I guess Ill go back if a friend wants to go, but otherwise, Im not interested.

Disappointed.. We were impressed with the atmosphere and the service, but the food did not live up to the standards. It took about 45 minutes to get our food (party of 2) and it was noon on a Sunday with fewer than 40 people. The food was less than stellar or even even average. Word to the wise.. Stay away from the shrimp and grits. Bland and definitely not cheese grits... Charleston would be sad to it associated with them... Chicken wings were bland, brussels sprouts were mushy and flavorless. Maybe the cooks had a bad day.

I enjoy this place a great deal. The prices are a bit high in my opinion, but nothing that will break the bank. Good burgers, GREAT meatloaf, drunken chicken is delish! Still a lot of menu items Im waiting to try, but so far everything has been great. Service at the bar is amazing - bartender Jason goes above and beyond and always willing to let you try any of their beers - very passionate about it too. Service in the dining room can be iffy - Ive had good and bad experiences, nothing awful though. Go check it out!
