I first ordered the bluberry baby cakes for brunch. The dish includes pancakes with a myriad of toppings. They brought them out with no toppings. I sent them back and it took quite a while for them to come back with the correct toppings. It had been so long that by the time the pancakes came back they we cold. Theres no way Im eating cold pancakes that I paid 10 bucks for. So I sent them back for fresh, hot ones. When they came back they were hot but instead they put cranberries on them. They were polite which was good but seriously, what is the harm in just saying that you ran out of blueberries? What if Id been allergic and didnt notice that they changed the sauce? When they set the plate down they stated that I wouldnt have to pay for it but didnt mention that it was not what I ordered. As if they fact that it was free should make me feel like i should take whatever they give me. . .News flash red cow staff, I didnt want free food. I just wanted good food. If you ran out you could have easily told me you ran out and have me pick something different from the menu instead of going through all of that. By the time the cranberry pancakes came out my whole party was done with thier food and it was too late to get something I wanted. This stuff is so basic to me. Basic customer service. The food at Red Cow is great. So Id suggest going to the one on North Loop, the service is always beautiful, along with the food.

Id give it 3.5 if I could. Red Cow has both good and bad going for it. One day I had their fish-n-chips, and the batter will be delectably crunchy and flavorful, then a week later it will be cooked barely golden in color with soft texture...Consistency is not their forte. Ive also had the grass-fed blue cheese burger. Cooked perfectly medium, but the blue cheese was pretty mild, and although the beef patty was tender, it lacked a good beef flavor...Either thats the way grass-fed beef is supposed to taste like - or- it wasnt cooked with enough char. In any case, at $14.75, I can safely say Ive had better (and cheaper) burgers throughout the metro area. Will I return to the Red Cow? Ubetcha as there are a number of breakfast and dinner items I wish to try before I cast final judgement, but if theres anyone from the restaurant reading these posts, you need some consistency in the kitchen.

I know people rave about this joint, and I wanted to like it, but I didnt. The ahi crisps are extremely overpriced and have no real flavor as the tuna was overwhelmed by other flavors stacked on a tiny crisp. The cheese curds, which Im frankly easily pleased by normally, were overly greasy/oily. The cocktail, a Sloe Gin Fizz, tasted like it was mostly seltzer water. And the Barcelona burger was underwhelming. The burger itself is great, they just try too hard to put things on it; the manchego cheese was unnoticeable, the prosciutto only provided a bit of salty flavor, and the pepper was the only thing I could remotely taste but it was only in the last few bites. I really wanted to like it but I didnt. The only reason Im giving two stars is because the burger was perfectly cooked and of excellent quality, but I hope someone reading this goes in only to get a plain burger.

Love this place. Food is very tasty and the atmosphere is a cozy and energetic. There are so many great menu items to choose from there is something for everyone. The Lamb Burger is amazing — best in town by far! The Poutine is delicious. The Crispy Sweet Potato Planks are what sweet potato fries are supposed to be like — crispy and flavorful. There are fun items like Bacon Caramel Puffcorn and Mini Donuts too. If you can save room for dessert you wont be disappointed. Nice collection of beer and wine too. In the summer theres a nice outdoor seating area. This place is often busy and on weekend evenings the wait can be long, but they have a nice system of texting you when your table is ready so you dont have to hang onto one of those big plasticky buzzer things. They are also connected to an app so you see where in the waiting list your are.

Pros: Great food and a fairly good selection of tap beer. Beer selection rotates on a near weekly basis, and tap lines have always tasted fresh. Food-wise it is great for breakfast, and great for burgers, with excellent appetizers. I havent tried much else, but people I have come with say it is excellent as well. Cons: Parking is very difficult during busy times, which tend to be most evenings, most weekends, and especially when football is on. It is right near 50th & France, so it gets a large crowd. Street parking is limited as areas around are residential, and only certain sides are available. TVs are in the bar only, so if you go to watch a game on Sunday, get there early or you will not have a good view. Seating can be very tight in certain areas, and booths are a bit short for people with broad shoulders.

Disappointed. Fries where cold, sweet potato fries tasted microwaved/reheated.one burger was overcooked/dry when we asked for medium and one Burger was actually physically cold undercooked... Also medium....out of 4 burgers no one at the table felt there was flavor in the meat or their plate well executed ... I was shocked considering the reviews. Place was packed.. hour wait, but we were told it was worth the wait.. So there must be more good than bad coming out of the kitchen... Talked to waitress, we were given a sorry and thanks for the feedback. Maybe it was a fluke for us? No Manager was available according to our server.... So we are leaving a review... I cannot justify$67 for four burgers and small cups of fries... Honestly would have enjoyed a dollar burger from McDonalds over what we were presented

Living in SW Mpls, I feel lucky that this place opened up near our home. Its easily better than any of the places at 50th & France in Edina, just a couple of blocks away. Beer selection is great and the wine-by-the-glass selection is unreal. Burgers are good, always cooked perfect and the fries are excellent too. My favorite is the ahi tuna burger though. Have been for brunch once as well and it was pretty excellent. Some non-traditional type things on the brunch menu that look really good. The only two (minor) complaints are that parking can be tough for dinner. You may have to walk a block or two in the cold. And, they dont have a full liquor license, so you cant get real bloody marries for brunch. )-;

Ive been to this restaurant three times. The food is good. The atmosphere is pleasant. The tap selection is great. The service is average. The front desk staff, while nice, are borderline incompetent. I ordered food to go and was told it would be ten minutes. After 25 minutes, I finally inquired about my food. They said they forgot about me. This is odd because I was four feet from them. They half-heartedly apologized and gave me the food, but was quite cold, not even warm. I asked for the manager, and eventually he gave me a refund and took back the cold food. Im really disappointed this restaurant and cant in good conscience recommend it. Especially not the to-go service.
