(Background info to get us introduction to what my issue is.) My family and I went to Maanas few months back, we had a issue with the time frame the food arrived (45 minutes in to placing our order we received no food) After talking to the waiter we found out the reason it was talking so long is because the chefs are working on a catering order. That made me upset, because we are paying full price for food so we should get full services period. The waiters there are scared of the owner for some reason and were hesitant to take charge. But after good ten minutes of talk I was able to get the owner #. called the owner (Madhav) explained what happen, he said next time one entire is free and portion of the bill on next visit will taken off. Fast forward to just few day back (Oct 19). I went to Maanas again with the family and food was mediocre (my GF can cook better Indian food than Maanas and she is Caucasian). Getting back to the point, (Viraj the guy with the glasses, I believe that was his name) the server was kind and we all liked him. However with time came for the bill one dish was taken out after Viraj call the owner (Madhav) but nothing was done about the portion of the bill which me an the owner agreed on before. According to Viraj, Madhav doesn’t recall saying about the portion of the bill being taken off. I was not going to argue with Viraj (he is just doing his job). I asked other waiter for the manager on duty he said he step out and the other waiter stated to make excuse on what is going on at the restaurant and said next time it will be better.(friendly reminder, there will not be a next time.) Our family owns business as well and the way Mannas operates is unprofessional, unethical and most important it makes all desi business look bad. (Solution) Maanas needs to really reevaluate on their business habits and take a look around their area; there are three other Indian restaurant in Maanas area. Also please motivated your employees with positive feedback, don’t scare them so much that they can’t even go to the bathroom with your approval. The purpose of this review is NOT give Maanas a bad rep, but to remind Maanas principal behind running a successful business.

We decided to visit this restaurant for this July 4th weekend and I guess we did the right thing. First thing I want to talk about is the quality & taste of the food. Very clean buffet with wide variety of choices both for veggies and non-veggies. I tried Nan and Navaratna korma and it was really great. Not just like typical restaurants where they add spice & oil and you feel like throwing up after you eat. We tried Onion pakoda and Vada which were very crispy and reminded me the taste of pure south indian food. I also tried Jamoon which was absolutely wonderful. The food were kept very clean and no messy stuff around. We were nicely welcomed by a friendly waiter and had the courtesy to talk with my family whenever he got a chance. His name was Srinivas and a very humble gentleman. As the restaurant is new, the hall is specially clean, decorative and I liked the arrangements. However, I felt the tables are arranged little closer. I would appreciate if there is more room. The service was overall excellent and unlike the previous reviewer mentioned regarding water refill and other stuff, I totally disagree. We were taken care of very friendly and I will definitely visit this restaurant as long as they live up with this quality & service. My personal experience with Indian restaurants is that initially they do a great job with food but after sometime, they dont maintain the standards. A real good place, good food and good service. Here is my 5 stars for Maanas :) And oh yes, my 6 months baby was quite happy till we finished our food....thanks!

The first two times I came here for the buffet. Water was promptly filled, and staff was friendly enough. I felt a bit of a language barrier, but the food seems more authentic than other places around Polaris. The third and fourth times I had dinner there were on a groupon (this was not revealed until payment); the service I got was disappointing, but the food was delicious. I actually left a note both times, requesting that they come fill my water more frequently next time, but also explained that I would be back because the food was delicious. The fifth, sixth and seventh times I went, I got much better service (still a slight language barrier, but they handled everything promptly) but I also think the food has even gotten more delicious. I feel like this restaurant may have worked out the kinks a bit since my bad experience, and Id recommend it (albeit tentatively until I have a few more positive experiences personally). Also only once has there been another non-indian group of people in here when Ive come, so I think that probably says something about the authenticity of the food, but I have never personally been to India, so I cant attest to that... Also, large portions (I was able to eat it for lunch the next day as well) make up for the higher price than other Indian restaurants in the area.

@Maanas #Maanas - You cannot expect a worst Restaurant than Maanas when it comes to "Customer Service". If you want to have a relaxing time and good food, this is NOT the place... Above all if you have "SELF RESPECT" ... This is absolutely NOT the place. Yes, their food is "not bad" but they treat customers as if they are OBLIGING THEIR CUSTOMERS by serving them food. The waiters typically behave badly. Today they gave stained cutlery, missed to give silver ware to everyone on the table, gave stained glasses, delay in serving. Well let me tell you DELAY IS NOT A MAJOR ISSUE IN THIS RESTAURANT AS IT HAPPENS PRETTY FREQUENTLY here, but what concerns me more is when the waiter instead of being apologetic and professional !! - says "YOU HAVE TO WAIT AS WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING". I think there is a decent and professional way to convey the message. It continues .. when asking for the Manager, the waiter said that if I NEEDED TO MEET THE MANAGER, I NEED TO COME BACK TOMORROW morning to meet with him!!!! I would strongly recommend that anyone who expects a decent customer service, relaxing time, interact with professional and good servers, do NOT come to this place !!!! There are a lot more good indian restaurants in the same area and across the Columbus OH metro.

Dining in maanas has become my favorite sit around since i first visited the restaurant. i am highly impressed by the sanitation and the hospitality given by every staffs there. Above all is the authentic indian food served whether it be their buffet or carry out or the restaurant part. The taste is so delicious here that i go nostalgic while having its Hyderabadi Dum Biryani and the Chicken Tandoori. It touches both your tongue buds and your heart while dining there in such low cost. It is a must go place in Polaris if you are a true food lover like i am.

Food is ok but the customer service is very very bad. You have to call for water so many times and they also dont know the expectation for Indian food. What is written on the menu and what you might get might be different and also if you ask them for the same they argue with you like anything. One of my friend ordered for Masoore Sada Dosa, she got Sada Dosa. Asking to them, they were trying to convince us that Sada Dosa and Masoore Sada Dosa is the same. At the end you will get worst customer service there
