My husband and I went there for fish and chips for lunch on Saturday before we checked out the Farmington Founders Street Fair. We have been there on numerous occasions for birthday parties, etc...though the last time we gathered for a birthday party, the bartender bumped our reservation because they were "very busy that night"...even though not every seat or table was filled so I decided to leave and go elsewhere. This after we have brought countless patrons in to enjoy the bar and restaurant at least 10 ppl plus my husband and myself. Anyway, the lunch menu is limited from the normal dinner menu, which was upsetting since we love the sweet potato fries and they were out of mac and cheese, Im sure it had been busy anyway this weekend with the fair. So we ordered fish and chips. Over 30 minutes later, we each got 2 tiny pieces of fish for $9.95...for lunch. We then asked for the bill and I paid with a cash tip but put the bill on my debit card. Keep in mind that I did not run a tab as we were just there for lunch so she did not have my card prior to my paying the bill. When I checked my account later on that afternoon, I saw they had taken a 20% tip OFF OF MY CARD. I called and spoke to the bartender who explained that that is what they do...really? So they cant tell people these things? So if I hadnt left a tip, they were goint to take 20%?? The food wasnt worth it, believe me. I know some restaurants do this for tables of 6 or more so nobody skips out on their bill, but for a couple having lunch, they did this? This is unexceptable and rediculous. I asked for the manager to call me back, no call yet so I decided to call today to inquire. I understand what a pre-authorization is, however, for them to assume and authorize my card for a 20% tip, AFTER I gave a CASH tip is just inconsiderate. The Manager and Bartender were also rude to me when I called to inquire. I can assure you that we will never return to this sad excuse for an Irish Pub. I miss Gus in Novi, MI...

Good atmosphere and always good bands. Decent beer selection with popular favorites on tap. I was disappointed in the food but it is founders fest weekend so they probably are a bit overwhelmed. Food in the past was very good with large portions. The Brussels sprouts are amazing. The Turkey Reuben was just okay with thick slices of breast meat, I prefer shaved but others may like this. I found it rather bland.

The atmosphere in the bar is top notch. Lots of great woodwork, etc. Friendly staff and pretty good service. Unfortunately, the food is subpar. It was much better 3 or 4 years ago, but has drastically gone downhill. My friends and I have done trivia there a half dozen times this year, and be it apps or dinner nothing has been very good. If not for the trivia host being fun wed never go.

Not classy! Crowleys doorman was abusive and disrespectful. I called the next day and the owner was dismissive of my concern and showed little professionalism. Clearly, they dont put their paying customers first. Maybe they are accustomed to dealing with burly drunks and not petite 50 year old women. There are many other establishments with class that provide the same services.

Not a fan of this place. If you are in downtown Farmington you have few options so this will suffice. The food is terrible. If you are eating, stick to the basics: burgers etc... any other dish is dreadful. It is often difficult to get a drink here and the service can be unacceptably rude when a manager is not babysitting them, which is often.

Great food, great drinks, awesome service. The cooks make more than a few errors on occasion, & Ive never heard a good thing about the owner in my life. We were there at 10p one night, upstairs was packed, & he comes out to announce last call. For no reason. Not a nice guy at all, but Id give the rest of the place four stars. Go for that.

Best Irish restaurant in Farmington! Carol and her staff really hustle to serve lunch quick. Menu choice is fair, but all of the menu items are great. Especially outstanding are the made fresh soups. My fav is the tomato basil. Its so thick you could eat it with a fork, really hits the spot dyring the winter.

I loved this place. Ive only been on the first floor, but I love the atmosphere there. Its quaint and cozy. I love their macaroni and cheese with chicken. Its a bit pricey, but theres lots of it and its delicious. Different from your average. The service is quick and friendly. I will definitely go back!!

Ive been going here for years and its always a good place to take the family or just go out for a drink. They always have a good selection of beer and their menu has been revamped and is very good. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Mainstay of downtown Farmington. Love it.

I have been here for dinner a few times, and it is always phenomenal. Today, my bridal shower was hosted in the downstairs area - it was absolutely beautiful. Very cool atmosphere, great service, and fantastic food. I highly recommend Cowleys to everyone!

Love it! They make you feel right at home with the wonderful decor, great food, beer selection and friendly service. Then stick around for some class "A" entertainment with a host of live bands. Kick up your heals a bit and enjoy!

Absolutely wonderful setting, with great food, terrific appetizers, cold beer, and excellent staff. Make sure to have the brussels sprouts, and - if they are featuring it on their dessert menu - the creme brulee.

Food is always excellent, waitstaff is always attentive. Can get very busy on the weekends, and the bands upstairs can be quite loud, but altogether my favorite place for food and drink in the area.

Came here for my 21st birthday and had a couple Guinnesss on tap. Both were tasty and waitress was kind. The sandwich I cannot recall the name of was very good. Had brisket in it I think.

Charming building right in Downtown Farmington, but the food is sub par, and over priced. I was thoroughly disappointed, and Ive given Cowleys more than one chance. Im not impressed.

Went here for St Patricks Day, the food downstairs was good, but you cant eat in the bar upstairs. So we had to leave to go eat downstairs, kinda of a weird set up.

Cool Irish pub, not too fancy but good for a drink. Did not eat there but decent selection of beers and spirits. Worth dropping in sometime.

Very good food, but slow service. Tasty and close to authentic white and black pudding. Corned beef rolls were terrific. Great Guinness pour.

Skirt steak was the worst. Overpriced fish and chips. Service was good. Food not so good. Clam chowder okay. Would not recommend.

Menu can be pricy but food is good quality. Decent brews on tap 50+ crowd downstairs, younger crowd upstairs with live band.
