At the beginning of my time at the Village Idiot, things were going quite well. It took a decent amount of time for the pizzas to arrive, but do not get me wrong, they were delicious pizzas, some of the best flat bread pizza Ive eaten besides in Miami Florida. It wasnt the food that made my experience bad, it was a strange old homeless looking man who seemed to be working at the bar? He had a shirt on for the bar. What happened with this disturbing old man is he approached my friends and I, we are all 18. He rudely interrupts us right after we get our food and asks us for are iDs. He is especially close and up in my face, I felt extremely uncomfortable, he looked very unsanitary and not presentable; like I mentioned earlier the man who seemed in his 70s looked homeless, his beard was extremely dirty, it looked like there was just tar in his mustache and beard by his mouth because of all the cigars he smokes, it made me even more uncomfortable. He was forceful and disrespectful when asking for our iDs, let me remind you, it is only 7 pm, the sun is still out, we are not up at the bar table, this man has no reason to be asking us for our iDs. As soon as he asked, my boyfriend told me to ignore him because we had just thought he was a drunk homeless man, but turns out, this old man works at this place. And then he looks me in the eye with this crazy look and tells us not to be loitering (EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS PIZZA RIGHT IN FRONT OF US), and that we need to leave that he will bring us boxes, his tone was extremely hostile and unpleasant. Next, I kid you not he asks us if our parents would be happy if they knew we were here. He has no right to be asking me or my friends this. Strangely after my boyfriend tells us to ignore him he just goes away back out in the front and as I am trying to eat my pizza after feeling disturbed and now feeling unwelcomed I noticed the homeless looking worker collecting $5 charges from people to get in, but me or my friends did not get charged. He was passing off wads of money to other people too. If this is how this place first presents its establishment then they need to do something because having an actual village idiot out front being disrespectful does not gain business.

Someone recommended this place to me because of the pizza and live Jazz on Sundays (I LOVE live jazz). I sat at the bar for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me and they werent slammed. The woman never made eye contact...the guy was very nice. I went to order pizza and they said it would be an hour (no problem. I heard its good so I waited) The guy brings my pizza out and I assumed (because everyone else had a box) I would have a box. I didnt, so I asked for one. He literally threw a left over one from the couple that was beside me with leftover napkins and pizza in it and walked away! Im not sure if I gave him a dirty look at some point or if I somehow offended him. A lady saw the interaction and offered me her box. I declined and went up to the order window and asked him for a box again. There was no apology or even a smile. He put one on the counter and walked away. Another guy (a long bearded nice guy) walked up and offered to put my pizza in the box for me.The order window counter space was very small and he probably saw me trying to figure out how I would do this.He looked embarrassed at his coworker (I hope that was the case). Im SO disappointed. I was sent here for the great atmosphere mostly and I got treated like crap. I will never return. When someone pays their hard earned money to be in your establishment, the least you can do is be kind.

Great atmosphere, beer, bands and food! You need to get there early or you may have to wait about 2 hours (sometimes more) for your food. I have waited that long, but the oven only takes 1 maybe 2 pizzas at once and each is like 15mins+ so it can really rack up if there are more than 5 orders ahead of you! Still good, but Saturday nights arent the best time to order! The bands are almost always good! Ive never been there during the week at night, so not sure then, but weekends its always a good time. The beer selection is really great and if you dont know what you want, the bartenders are good for suggestions. The crowd is mixed, youll find professionals from 21+ to older people, and during the day, kids are allowed in! It can get very loud in there and if you dont like crowds, come early! This is 1 of my favorite bars of all time!

Funny thing for the village idiots, they make the pizza in only one size! lol. However, it was very good thin crust pizza, and plenty for 2 or more. Service was decent, no problems going to the bar or the kitchen to order a drink. The only real drawback to this place was that this particular band (Kentucky Chrome) was a bit too loud for such a small place, but still their music was very good. Overall, a thumbs up experience! Just maybe not the best place for lots of conversation as its quite small for a band....but 7 days a week with live music is great! Ill be back. OH, and FYI the picture shot is from one corner of the bar to the next..heh! The whole bar is roughly 60 foot by 60 foot. My ears are still ringing a bit from the band, and shouting a bit to talk. But, only been there once, could have been the band.

We were passing through on a road trip and saw good things online about this place. We walked past what we assumed was an intoxicated homeless man, who was actually collecting $5 per person cover charge just to get in and order a pizza. Why pay $15 before we even sit down to order our dinner? He also told us it would be a hour wait for our food to be prepared. If this is the first person the owner puts up front for customers to see when coming in, I shudder to think what kind of people are working unseen in the kitchen. That was enough to motivate us to turn around, and walk across the street to the just as highly rated Dales Bar & Grill. Dales gave us a friendly welcome, fast service and delicious food. Skip the family unfriendly Villiage Idiot, and go directly to Dales.

Its too crowded, nowhere to sit. Everybody that works there seems to have an attitude. The only good thing about this place is thier pizza but its so expensive. Here is what you do if you want thier pizza... 1. Go to sofos and get thier premade pizza crust and sauce 2. Put olive oil (or vegetable oil) on the crust 3. Put your pizza sauce on 4. Put basil, cilantro, thyme, pepper, salt, and fennel seeds on now or put it on top of the cheese 5. Put mozz cheese with any fixings There, you can now make like 5 pizzas yourself for the price of one of thiers and dont have to deal with being treated like dirt in the process. I give this place 2 stars since the bands they have are decent.
