TIPS - This is a cash-only establishment - Call at least 20-30 minutes prior to you wanting to eat. - They are closed certain days of the week - Once in a while, the business closes for two weeks since the owners go on vacation. Call prior to showing up. DELICIOUS FOOD By far the best Chinese food around town. The amount of food for the price is very generous. Being Chinese food, it is very greasy and they dont really put a lot of effort on how the food looks...but looks are deceiving. DECOR As others have mentioned, the owners need to do a better job decorating the place; however, it is run as a small business. Besides, in general, my recommendation would be to take food out instead of dining in. SERVICE Dining in maybe ONE time is a great experience. The dining area is very small. Be prepared to come out smelling a lot like if you were the one cooking the food. People are very polite and straight to the point.

The best combination fried rice I ever taste, I been coming to this place for years, and the taste never changes is delicious. The eggroll are soo good it has a unique taste, is so different to all the ones I taste in different places, none beats the one in Ming toy. The only down fall is they are CASH ONLY!! But hey its really worth it. I always order to go, cause the place isnt that appealing to eat in. But other than that youll should give it a try, in my opinion youll wont be disappointed. Oh one other thing, just make sure you get ring up well, cause they overcharged me and I had to let them know. So make sure before you pay its the right amount.

Very bad took two bites and could not eat it anymore was just that bad. Not sure how this place got so many good reviews. The best thing they had that I ordered was the water, and that was tap water. The sauce they used for the beef and broccoli and steak stir fry was awful. Did not offer a discount for the food we ordered and did not eat. The decor could be brought up to New very plain and place was dirty to my standards. We left and came across the street to taco bell and 10 times better than that place and for a forth of the price.

Growing up in Waukegan, this was my go to chinese food place. Unfortunately, it has gone down hill dramatically. Im pretty disappointed because I took my boyfriend who was visiting for the first time from out of town. We were both displeased with what we ordered: Egg drop soup (cold water with salt), Sesame chicken (ketchup based sauce over chicken) and Cashew chicken (not as spicy as advertised. Im giving this place two stars because of nostalgia and the staff is always friendly. Also, its cash only which is a major pain.

The decor definitely needs an upgrade. The egg rolls were nice thick and crunchy. The plates were plastic and not appeasing to the eye. The hostes was semi-nice. Though she pulled out a cell phone and was snapping at a child on the phone. Its dissapointing to see that with all the business they had coming in and out. Theres a very rude sign on the door that says, no credit, no debit, and no credit card, CASH ONLY. Now the food is tasty and descent portions. With that being said , food great service okay, prictk

This isnt a place to eat at, this is a place to call in advance and carry-out. Also if youre looking for the heat or spicyness of Sichuan or Hunan style cooking, you may be disappointed. (I think thats what most are expecting, when Ive seen some of the other reviews.) However if you want food with a rich savory flavor (umami), then youre in for a pleasant surprise with Cantonese style cooking. Anyhow I like it and give it 4 of 5. Food is great, location and restaurant itself probably bumps it down one.

Ming Toy has the best chinese food around. We order from them all the time. My favorite is the Shrimp Fried Rice, Shrimp Chop Suey, Beef Chop Suey, Broccoli and Chicken, Beef and Chicken. I would recommend this place for take out if you want to eat in you can but on the weekends it can get a little hectic with the line of people waiting to pick up their orders.

I love this place. I come here with my mom and grandma and we always get a few different plates to share. We love the chicken fried rice, egg rolls, and chicken almondine. Even though the place is a little...dingy, we always for whatever reason eat in. I dont mind at all though because the people are so nice here and the atmosphere just kinda grows on you.

Dont go for the ambiance or you are destined to be disappointed. Ming Toy makes great Chinese food at very low prices. The food never disappoints -- I can happily dine on their egg rolls alone. Delicious!

BEST EGG ROLLS EVER. No one compares. I make a meal out of their egg rolls. Their wonton soup has very thin wonton wrappers. Some places use thick heavy noodles. Theirs are delicate and yummy...so good.
