I have been a long time repeat customer since 2014 and have enjoyed the quick and friendly service and good food. However of late the service here has become borderline rude. On multiple occasions over past few months when I have gone for a pickup or sit down dinner, the waiting staff has completely ignored us for no apparent reason. We have had to wait for at least 15 min before even anyone approached us, despite flagging down a staff member. I always get the feeling that I am unwelcome and an inconvenience. It is upsetting. I miss the staff who had the decency to say hi when we entered the restaurant. The waiting staff who are working tonight should not be in the service industry. If you are looking for a pleasant experience and good food, there are multiple restaurants in Detroit that can deliver that experience. You will not find that here, given the current state of affairs.

Picked this sushi spot almost at random after a DSO concert, and the experience was greatly higher than what any of my expectations could have been. Our server, Q (like the letter but definitely not spelled like that) was one of the kindest waiters Ive ever had. We were celebrating my girlfriends 21st birthday and he let us sample many of their home infused sakes and let us have frozen Mochi desserts. Ill be asking for him everytime I return. The sushi was also very good. The yellowtail that day was probably one of the best yellowtail Ive had anywhere at a much better price than many other places. Just be aware that the spicy mayo there is no joke, and not for you if you are weak for spicy. Id go again for the cherry sake alone, but everything there was simply amazing. This will be the only place I go to for sushi in Detroit in the future.

My friends and I go here weekly during the school year. The lunch specials are an incredible value! The sashimi lunch box has 6 pieces of fresh, tasty sashimi, two vegetarian dumplings, a shrimp dumpling, a HUGE serving of assorted fresh fruit and a cup of miso soup- all for $12! In midtown, thats a steal. Their roll lunch combos are great too- you get three whole rolls for $10-12, when they are normally about $6-10 alone! We always get the same waiter who is very polite and knowledgeable on all the dishes. The udon bowls are huge and tasty, a great value as well :) They offer a lot of traditional Korean and Japanese dishes in addition to more recognizable dishes like ramen, tempura, and sushi. The restaurant does have many vegetarian options as well.

TL;DR good food, good service, clean place. Awesome food, the service I had was quite simply amazing. I eat sushi all the time, and Ive had plenty of bad sushi, but this place really gets my top marks. Everything except their eel was absolutely perfect, but it is hard to get good eel anywho. Photo is of the sushi for 2 meal half-eaten (which the waiter allowed us to pick and choose our sashimi for). Our waiter (he said his name was just the letter Q) was amazing!!!!!!!!!! We waved him down a few times with questions and to ask for a refill on soy sauce and he checked on us periodically. The restaurant was clean and had gorgeous decoration.

Ive been here a few times now and everything is good. Literally. Especially the Shoyu and the Philly is also great. Dont be scared to try something different because you wont be dissapointed. They have happy hour with dollar beers from 3-6 and the first add on of your meal is free from 3-6! Its not too expensive and its really a bang for your buck. They also have interestingbotanically brewed drinks that tast very unique in a good way. The staff if friendly, the establishment is clean, and the food is very fresh and unique. Im always very satisfied when I come here!

Wasabi is one of my favorite places to eat. Everything Ive tried on the menu I thought was delicious. You are served soup, a salad (different each day) and whatever meal you choose (at least for lunch you do). You get a lot of food for a pretty good price. The sushi and salmon are very, very tasty. The service is great and Ive never had to wait long for a seat. This restaurant is located right on Woodward, just north of the Detroit Institute of Arts. It is adjacent to a parking structure and they validate those tickets. Highly recommended!

If I could give a ZERO star rating I would. After dining in, I paid with debit card. A cash tip was left with $0 left on the debit receipt as tip. After I left, the waiter (Hyeong) decided to print off a NEW RECEIPT and fill in an $8 tip for himself and sign my signature! FRAUD! This was almost a month ago and I have spoken with a "manager" and the "owner". I have not received a refund on the stolen money or confirmation that Hyeong was fired. Dont dine here unless you enjoy your money being stolen.

Service was very poor...sorry I do not like servers fingers and thumbs in my food and drink. Although I never sent anything back two of my fellow diners did. Somehow this translated in the owner telling me at the top of his lungs to never come back, I suppose because I had been there so many times he recognized me. Not too smart eh? Never going back! My sisters food was absolutely terrible the shrimp were old, hard and over-cooked. The scallops were mushy and void of any flavor.

My Girlfriend and I considered this our "secret spot" when she was living downtown in Lafayette Towers. Service can, admittedly, be slow and unresponsive at times; however, the food is astounding! Not once have we left unsatisfied with our dining experience. If youre on the fence because of a few online trolls, spewing their hatred of the world through bad reviews, youre doing yourself an injustice. However, the girlfriend and I wont mind - just keeps the place our "secret spot."

Food was OK. Sushi was good. But the service was horrible. Server did not even apologize for over-charging. I got charged for dinner portions (I asked before ordering and server said I could order lunch) and double drinks (when the sodas had free refills according to their menu) when I clearly stated I wanted lunch portion and even asked before my food was ready. I really wanted to like this place because its close to where I am and because I love Korean and Japanese food.

The food is awesome but the service is so poor that it makes it not even worth it. Ive never had such a rude, disgruntled waitress in my life. They never brought my friend and me a plate to eat our sushi off of, my water was never refilled, it took an extremely long time to be waited on, and when our food was finally delivered it took another 10 min to flag down our waiteress and get utensils, to which she rolled her eyes at my request. Poor poor service

This place was not clean, not sure how it has been passing inspection. The wait staff was extremely slow and the sushi was subpar. I was expecting an amazing experience and was excited to try this place out because of the reviews but man was I disappointed. As my boyfriend and I were leaving a young lady and her mom sitting on the "patio" type area inside were complaining of flies in their soup, I couldnt help but think what couldve been in my sushi.
