I have not had an experience as worse as the one I have experienced at ichiban. I placed an order for over $60 in a rice and garlic butter (and yes, I was charged a dollar per small side of garlic butter. May I remind you in, they were not even half full). If I spoke to the man was in the front, I take it he was the manager from his appearance, he was nothing but rude and not patient what so ever. Instead of being kind and trying to find an alternative or apologizing sincerely, I was given attitude with the response of "sorry, were closed. I cant help you (at 9:59). I understand people have rough days and bad days and want to get home, but instead of starting a problem and issue, being a manager you should be able to fix it. Being in retail, I understand the difficulty that some people have to face, but in my own experience I have never been rude or even face the customer with attitude. Customer or not, you should not speak with attitude to anyone who you are doing business with. Do not order from them if its anywhere near close, you will get a half assed order of everything. We got ripped off on free garlic butter, cold rice, and horrible service.

Best sauses! Mind blowing. Consistent for 2yrs. I always leave happy, full, and knowing I got the best sushi around. The hibachi is the best Ive ever had still! I traveled for a while and have tried alot of places.. nothing has been quite as good, the sauses cant be beat. Ive even been to another location in Grand Blanc, pretty sure theyre connected. I dont recommend going there.. This place has the magic, No other place has. Dont even get me started on how beautiful it is in there..and Clean. This is my favorite Japanese restaurant, obvious eh? In the 2 yrs Ive been coming here the manager is always present and shows up standing character. He keeps this place in perfect order and does a d*ng good job. Im convinced he is why this place stays so consistent and above the rest.

the only good thing i have to say about this place was the food was ok. Everything else was just awful. I had a decent party size of about 20 who called ahead for reservations, when we got there we couldnt be seated until our whole party arrived (at the time 15 of us were there), ok so whatever, we get seated and we get our waters about 20 minutes later, i mean really? We order drinks and about 30-40 mins later we get our drinks, and they forgot one, guy comes back about two more times still forgetting the one beer. about 3 hours later we finally get to eat after waiting forever. overall this place has awful service and ok food, if they improve the service it might be worth going to.

Love this place! Ive been here twice but both times it was great. Theres two areas u cam choose to sit in. The left u can watch the guy make your food which is fun for the kids or even if its your first time there its interesting. The right is the normal dining area they bring your food u dont the guy cook. I actually havent gone on the right side yet. The food is very good. It can get quite busy though. It can b a bit pricey also but you will enjoy and leave happy! Best to bring the whole family or a group of friends and go on the left side u can all sit around the table have some drinks and watch your food be cooked then eat! :)

Worst customer experience ever at a restaurant, our waitress RUDE the manager RUDE felt like we were being rushed the entire time. The manager even went as far as telling us in the middle of eating out diner if we had to use the bathroom use it now because her staff was wanted to begin mopping. The restaurant closed at 9pm we got there at 8:20pm and specifically asked if it was to late because well just come back a different day.. but they said no and continued to seat us.. will only be going to osakas from here on out

My gf loves this place. I began going cause my sushi place Tokyo sushi (on mound) closed. The atmosphere and decor is lovely. Great place for girlfriends to catch up with each other and the things going on in their lives. Sean is a great waiter. And the cooks are great. Tokyo sushi was better on my pockets but this place is worth it. Lunch time is normally not crowded. I went on a Friday nite with an ex and it was pretty busy. He liked the food. Hes the person responsible for introducing me to sushi.

Ive been to several Japanese Steakhouses in the area and this one is the best. The food tasted better, the hibachi cook was more talented and funny, and there was even a good magician entertaining all of the tables with jokes and tricks and making balloon animals. Ichiban was the cleanest and had the most up-to-date decor. The prices are average for a Japanese Steakhouse. My sister said the sushi was really good too (I dont eat it). Highly recommended. Well never go to the other places anymore.

The food was great, my children loved the hibachi. The reason I didnt give this place 5 stars is I ordered shrimp the chef decided to give my husband several of my shrimp. I dont mind sharing my food, I was just confused on why he decided to do this. During the course of cooking I noticed he gave more food to the man than the rest of the party. If you arent interchanging everyones meal, I mean if the chef doesnt plan to share others dishes he needs to stick to whats on the order menu.

Love this place. They often have sushi deals and the sushi is delish. I also enjoyed the teppanyaki and the chef was really funny and charismatic. It was a great show. Must try some of the specialty rolls and the house salad is great. Sake bombs are also fun and they will show you how to drop the sake into the beer with chopsticks. We even got a bomb on the house for our table with the manager. A lot of fun, friendly staff and great food.

Food is Okay. Staff friendly. WATCH YOU BILL. They billed us twice for 2 dinners, charging us 50.00 more. We told them their mistake and they didnt fix it because they still tried overcharging us 25.00. The family sitting at the same table? The man didnt get his chicken until they were about through. Worst part? They also over charged them one whole meal too. And they did this when they werent busy. At all. Well not be back.

So stinking good! Seriously, Ive lived in Michigan for almost 11 years and been to probably a dozen similar places but this place is better than all of them. Everything was clean, the wait staff was polite and attentive, and the food was fantastic! We finally found our Japanese steakhouse! Cant wait to come back. Oh, and Andy did a great job preparing our food for us.

Pretty good. I like the atmosphere of Ichiban and the sushi I got was good. This isnt the best sushi place I have been to but I will probably be back for a second visit. Our waitress was a little rude and inpersonal and the presentation of the sushi was not fantastic. Other than that the taste and freshness of food and atmosphere was really nice.
