The Whitman Diner was once a great place to bring the family. Good service, GREAT food and reasonable prices. Unfortunately this seems to have changed. As of our visit 1-11-08 the menu has been reduced to less than half its former glory. Surf and Turf are now appear to dominate the choices and many of the classic dishes are now where to be found. It also appears that they have reformulated some of their recipes. The meatloaf, for example, once one of my favorites, now is just another poor, failed attempt. Too many spices trying to make it fancy instead of the simple traditional meatloaf that used to be served. Our service this evening was fair bordering on poor. Side items that were ordered were not brought out and the waiter had to be reminded and he seemed surprised that we ordered that item. In general the service was not what it has been in the past. Unfortunately my family and I will not be returning there anytime soon, if ever unless things are returned to "normal".

The stuffed shrimp were absolutely inedible. The manager still charged full price even though I sent 2 and a half out of 3 back. The soup was awful as well. I told the manager and she accused me of being rude. I think charging someone for food that nobody would eat is pretty rude. The good news at this place is there arent many people there. It was nice and quiet. I wont ever eat there again. Petes diner up the road was pretty packed. Probably because the food is better. I wont go back to that place.

Our waitress Diane said to me, and I quote, "Youre drinking diet soda, but you are eating that?", pointing to my stuffed french toast. I have an auto immune thyroid disease and have struggled with my weight for over a decade. I dont go out to eat to be insulted or have my personal choices spoken about or questioned. I wont be going back and hopefully she learns to keep her mouth shut.

The Whitman is located on a fictional island off Costa Ricas Coast where a billionaire philanthropist and a group of genetic scientists have created a wildlife attraction of cloned dinosaurs. All in all I had a surprisingly great experience here and would definitely endorse this diner, or truthfully, the cocktail lounge!

How are any of the people around here eating this? The coffee was horrible, the food for breakfast wasnt good, the side potatoes were spicy like seriously? Hows a child suppose to have home fries here? And they dont have corned beef which all diners do. Ill stick to philly diner in Runnemede! Never again.

Gave it a 5/5 for the category. Excellent diner. Has a menu more like a restaurant than a everything-anytime-of-the-day diner but the food is high quality and fresh. Presentation is certainly best for diner food (I.E. they actually care what it looks like). Prices are reasonable and they serve booze.

Horrible. Ordered a vegetable omelette and the pieces of vegetable were huge. I asked for an omelette not a plate of vegetable with a hint of egg. The waitress never checked up on us. I had to shout halfway across the diner to get my order of toast. First and last time I will go there.

I enjoyed my breakfast! Seasoned potatoes, sausage, bacon, and pancakes were all very good. The service was friendly and prompt. I was impressed considering the number of customers. Tables full and a line at the door, still good. The hostess was very attentive to everyone too.

Food sucks both times Ive been here. Pancakes was the first time... hard to mess up. Meatballs and raviolis the second time was just soooo horrible I sent it back. The woman manager had an attitude and was really rude. Will never go back

Years ago, when this place was first renovated i visited. And I honestly wasnt impressed. But that was then. Now I have to say that I had an incredible meal, excellent service and great atmosphere. I cant wait to eat here again.

So the only thing that saved this entirely was the nice setting. I visited with 2 others and we all had the same sub par rating. The food was lousy, our server even worse. I wouldnt recommend a soda here. Sorry :(

Great food, had the gyro, crab cakes sandwich and the steak burger. All where well presented and tasty. Service was good. Went at 3:30am so it wasnt busy at all. I would definitely recommend this place.

Weve been going here since we moved in over 12 years ago. Maybe a bit of an identity crisis, is it a diner, is it a cocktail bar? We go for the food and always have. It is consistent and tasty.

Relaxing atmosphere and they give you large portions. The omelette was overdone, however, and rather bland. The coffee was your average diner coffee, but the waitress was very nice and attentive.

Not happy with the menu they wanted to charge us ala carte for breakfast $6 for short stack $3 for eggs and $3 for meat not very happy with buying breakfast sla carte so I wont be back

Food was OK here. Hash browns were a bit dry and more like cut potatoes vs the shredded stuff you get other places. They do serve liquor though if that is your thing.
