4.25. Gibbet Hill Grill is known for their farm to table concept.. and it helps when the food tastes great! I had the pleasure of coming here for dinner and I have to say that when I came in here, I definitely felt like I was in a nice establishment. The restaurant itself is a good size, with seating available upstairs as well. The layout and ambiance resembles a barn and is appropriate for their farm to table (or as they call it, farm to fork!) prerogative. For starters, I got the Cindys Crab Dip. The dip tasted great with the crackers they gave. From the taste, the dip felt it had a minimal amount of mayo in it, which is my actual preference. There were also some good chunks of crab on it and this made me dip my cracker in the dip and search for them! And for the main course... I got the 24 oz porterhouse steak! The steak tasted juicy and cooked just the way I liked it on the edges (medium rare). Some meat close to the bone was pretty rare, which could be a problem for some, but thats why I get my steak medium rare as I can tolerate a steak cooked from rare to medium without any crazy issues on my end. Oh dessert, I chose you Mascarpone Creme Brulee! And I made the right choice. It had just the right amount of sweetness to tell my taste buds that they were satisfied with the meal. The service was friendly, attentive, and on-point. One thing I recommend is definitely get reservations, as it can get pretty busy here with long waits at peak hours. I definitely would come back here when I am in the area!

The Gibbet Hill Grill is one of our favorite restaurants. Perfectly located on old farm land off of Route 40 in Groton, the ambiance both inside and outside of the restaurant building is great! The restaurant is only open for dinner, and the menu is an eclectic combination of fine steaks and upscale comfort food. The Shepherds Pie, which Ive had several times, is a mix of ground beef and cubed lamb, and is wonderfully seasoned and prepared. The meatloaf, an unusual item on a menu at a restaurant like this one, is certainly worth ordering as well. Among the steaks, the Hanger Steak is a rare treat; it is a cut that one seldom sees served in restaurants and it has a flavor and texture that is distinctly its own. If the various comfort food items on the menu cannot draw you away from ordering one of their many steaks, no worries--the steaks they serve are delicious, and in my experience, invariably prepared perfectly. You really cannot go wrong here. I wish they were open for lunch on the weekends.

I believe they routinely overbook reservations to make it look like it is a high-demand restaurant resulting in ridiculous waits even with advance reservations (be prepared to wait up to an extra 1/2 hour with a reservation). The waiting space is small and crammed. The bar hopping crowd is loud and shall we shall very free with coarse language. The wait staff is poorly trained and generally inattentive. I tried the filet mignon. Nice sized piece of beef, but served raw inside. I like my beef pink and juicy, but actually cooked. This was red and bleeding. Took two tries to get it to a pink. Real bad attitude sending it back. I have had better cuts of meet through the mail with Omaha Steaks. In my opinion, do not waste your time and money, you can do better with less than 10 more minutes of driving. I will admit they have a nice pretend barn theme going, and the views are really spectacular, but the food and service just do not measure up.

Went to Gibbet Hill to celebrate some wonderful events with my wife and another couple. We had an 8:00 PM reservation. We arrived at 7:50, we were sat at 8:45 PM. The manager came over to the table immediately after we were sat and explained their earlier reservations were sat very late as a result of a series of accidents on the highway during the Friday evening commute. She offered us a round of free apps to get us eating and happy right away and I thought that was very classy of them. My wife had the Mussels appetizer. The rest of the meal was fine enough, certainly not worth the wait or the money or the hype. And then...my wife was up sick over the toilet the ENTIRE night. She threw up so much her nose was bleeding the next day as she lay on the couch all day. She was the only one who ate the mussels. Thanks Gibbet Hill, youll never see us again.

My wife and I have been going to Gibbet Hill off and on since the first week it opened. They have had several chances to impress us yet they always seem to fall short. Sometimes really short. Last time we were there a waitperson dumped an entire goblet of water in my lap at the start of the evening. No staff came over to follow up with me with what was a terrible start to our evening out. Great setting but the menu is getting tired. The food and service are OK but not what anyone would expect in this price range. The menu/ food just doesnt seem to have any style . While they may have cooks, I never get the feeling that they have a chef. The ownership needs to revamp both their menu and their style. Reservations still do not prevent you from having to wait almost an hour for a table on the weekends.

My husband and I have eaten at the Gibbet Hill Grill many times over the last few years and I have never been disappointed. The waiting space IS small, but I dont think they anticipated having such a HUGE clientele - and you must book ahead if you want to eat there on the weekend. I dont think you can fake that. The meat is always cooked to perfection. Although I rarely eat the steak (I like to try different things), it is the only thing my husband orders. The waitstaff is super-friendly and attentive. They have also been very sociable and entertaining to my two young children that I have brought there a few times. Even the coffee is outstanding. It is a classy place. Those who have been disappointed should give it another try.

This place had ok steaks at a very high price. I went with my date on a busy Saturday, our table wasnt ready, and we went to the bar - and when our table was ready we were forced to settle at that time. I hate that. And the hostess refused to run the bill for me. I guess her time is more valuable than mine. The steaks were ok, nothing special, but out here in the sticks that must pass for gourmet. To top it all off we had another drink while waiting for dinner and one of them had broken glass in it. I emailled the managers to voice my concerns, and never heard back. Now Im just waiting to see this place on kitchen nightmares.

I was hoping to be wowed but it wasnt anything sepcial. I had good food and our waitress was really nice. However I made a reservation 4 weeks ahead of time and when we arrived we had to wait for our table which is ok but when we were sat they put us in the middle of the dinning room and it felt like we were in the way and eating with other guests. Our waitress came to take our order and she brought me the wrong drink twice. This was our anniversary and it may not seem like much but when you plan ahead and get a babysitter and drive 45 mins and then spend a hundred and twenty dollars on dinner you kinda are hoping for more.
