The best Indian food in town! Ive been to 80% of the Indian restaurants in Boston & Cambridge area and this one beats all of them hands down. Id highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala or Chicken Makhani - not very oily and always flavorful. Theyll customize the spicyness level to your tastes. Ive also tried the okra, eggplant, chickpea, and lamb dishes and they are great too. The naans are nice and fluffy. BTW, make sure you get the Bengali Kulfi for dessert. This place is one of the few places that a) has kulfi, b) makes it in-house, and c) it actually tastes fresh and authentic. Some of the other reviews have mentioned delivery issues. 99% of the time when Ive ordered for delivery, Ive not had any issues (and Ive ordered delivery from them a lot!). Its been delivered within the specified time frame. Only one time was it late and I had to call them to check in. Keep in mind this is a "mom and pop" store and they get really busy sometimes. And the food is really worth it! To summarize: best Indian food in town, great prices, and great service. Youll be going back :)

This is the best Indian food I have encountered in 5 years of living in Boston. I usually order one of the lamb curries, but each dish has a unique and delicious flavor - I recommend trying Goat Korma if youre one of those people who have only ever had Chicken Tikka Masala. The owner and chef is one of the nicest men Ive encountered in a restaurant - you can see him lovingly preparing the food in the back from the restaurant seating area, and he will occasionally come out and express his gratitude for your patronage with a warm smile on his face. All of the staff are equally kind and attentive, taking their lead from him. Finally - the BUFFET! The lunch buffet every day is a bargain, and has a really delicious mix of chicken, veggie, and other dishes. I always challenge myself to see how much I can eat on a cold winter Saturday, washing it down with tasty chai tea. I hope you make it over to Harvest of India if youre in Cambridge - its a real delight.

Dinner was a horrible experience. Chicken Tikka made with supermarket pizza sauce? You could even taste the cane sugar. Nan had no flavor, was extremely tiny, and bitter. Maybe it is made with instant biscuit mix - bitter artificial ingredients. Rice was good. And no wonder the place was empty on a Friday night. Dining alone I had a tab of $22. I put down two 20s. What do you think the waiter does? Thats right, he rings up the check ten feet from me, then shuts the drawyer and puts $18 in his back pocket. Then he disappears for 16 minutes. I waved to the cook, who waved back. Oh yeah, after I signal he says OK going back and forth from the kitchen. Twenty minutes after he rings up my check he decides to bring me my change. Rude. I had put $5 down for a tip, standard tip when I dine for an hour. Of course when he saw that he almost lunged across the room, snatched it and disappeared.

I have been to Harvest of India quite a few times since moving to Harvard Square. I have tried pretty much every Indian restaurant in Harvard / Central area, and this one stands out. The chef-owner is a pleasant man and the ambience and seating is just perfect for a dinner. Especially like the roomali roti (bread), dal tadka and shahi paneer korma. Of course, I have had a a variety of dishes and have ALWAYS had a great meal (super consistent), be it dinner or weekend lunch buffet. I like my food less hot than usual and they always make the right spice adjustments to my taste while retaining the flavors. Strongly recommend for Indian food!

Ordered over the phone for delivery. The phone ordering process was a little painful, but we got it done. The chicken tikka and lamb vindaloo were both really good. The goat curry we ordered was NOT good. There were really sharp bone shards throughout. Im okay with my meat including bones, but not shards. The Saag Aloo was pretty flavorless and disappointing. The naan bread was super yummy, and the rice was rice. Overall, it was decent food, but I might try a different place if I order takeout again.

I ordered the food and it arrived on time. However, the driver only showed up with four dollars in change, thus making me give him an 8 dollar tip on a 28 dollar order. Honestly, I would give that for excellent service at a restaurant, but if youre driving food to my house 15% is quite enough. To top it off this guy makes a joke about what hes going to do with the extra money now that he cant give me more change. Im never ordering from here again, there are plenty of other places in the area.

I wish I had tried the food...I ordered delivery and the guy shows up half an hour late with the wrong food. He said hed be back in 30 mins with the right food. After 45 mins I called to find out what the deal was. They told me the driver came but I didnt answer the phone (possible the network was busy but the phone never left my side). Then he said it was at the restaurant and I could come get it...and THEN said the driver just left with it and Id have it in 5 mins. No one ever showed.

Had a light breakfast of three pieces of fruit and a cookie and was in Cambridge for the day so needed a serious fill up. The lunch buffet was definitely the way to go! For $8 you have a variety of delicious south Indian food to pick from, with both good chicken based and vegetarian selections. Ask the waiter for some hot cayenne pepper if you want to make your food spicy, its all served fairly mild!

Service was good, staff seemed to be very welcoming. The only disappointment (but a big one) was food, food was very bad, Nowhere near an authentic Indian food. I had Palak Paneer and Aaloo Gobhi, In Palak Paneer the Palak was not grated fully (In Palak Paneer the Palak should be grated to become a paste without any feel of spinach), Aaloo Gobhi felt more like boiled vegetable.

Love having them in the neighborhood. Meat samosas are the best Ive ever had. Lunch buffet isnt huge, but its fresh, tasty, has all the favorites, comes with made-to-order naan, and is cheap. And a highlight is the cardamom rice pudding! Service is excellent, atmosphere simple but pleasant. Ive eaten in and have gotten takeout/delivery and never had a hint of a problem.

Im literally sitting here waiting for my food to show up. Its been almost 45 min past the scheduled delivery window. I hope they read this and others do as well, because there is no excuse for such poor service. If you dont like delivering or have a bad habit of never delivering on time, perhaps you should stick to customers that only dine in.

I had a lunch buffet today for $7.95. This is the cheapest buffet I had in Boston till now. Todays they served bendi masala, aloo ghobi and dal tadka. I liked bendi masala a lot. I am a vegetarian. I can say that vegan dishes are very nice. This is the best place to stop by to have a lunch buffet.
