I got sick and had to stay home from my familys Thanksgiving trip, but $25 worth of yummy Indian food is making me feel much better. The chicken korma is creamy and flavorful and everything korma should be, the rice is tender, the coconut soup is perfectly sweet, the masala tea is aromatic and warming, and the meat samosas were filling without being too heavy, although I wish theyd been a little spicier. The only thing I wasnt crazy about was the garlic naan, but thats just a personal preference; I dont like cilantro and didnt think to ask about it. The delivery was estimated to take about an hour to an hour and a half, and was pretty much exactly an hour, and the delivery person was polite and pleasant. In short, very good food at a very reasonable price with reliable delivery service. Im happy I ordered from them, and will definitely do so in the future. I do wish they offered peshwari naan, though!

The food is good but the service is terrible. I ordered from them about 6 months ago and it took forever to get my food because the driver said he got lost, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. When I ordered from them a few months later, the same thing happened but instead of waiting an hour, it took 90 minutes. I only live about 2.5 miles a way...I should have just picked up my food but I didnt. When I called to find out the status of my order I was disconnected so I called back and the woman told me shed call the driver. I told her to cancel my order and that I was coming down there to get my refund. I was again disconnected and received a phone call from the driver saying he couldnt find my house. When I tried to cancel my order, they wouldnt do it and only offered to take off the tip. I will never order from them again.

went there first time to pick up the food. this place horrible inside and out, from food to the staff. hated it. saw the staff was using microwave to warm the frozen food. on the top of that they over charge me when I submitted a coupon. they charged me extra 20% because of coupon. when I demand explanation she told me its for the carry out container. I never hard restaurant charge extra 20% for damn plastic container!! after over paying for the food when I came home I found out they didnt even give me all the item, which they mentioned in their menu under veg thali and non veg thali. I called them back with my complain but staff was very rude. they denied their mistake and because I asked owners name and number they hung up on me. so pls stay away from that place unless wanna get ripped and get worst food..

This review is completely honest. I consider myself a foodie, and this place was terrible. We had a coupon for this place so stopped in to get some Indian food to go. We waited for a while; the interior was very gross. It was empty. Worst of all, the food was bad. The sauces were completely watered down, like they had been trying to skimp and save money and intentionally watered down our sauces. This was summer of 2012, and we havent been back since because it was definitely one of the worst restaurants Ive ever eaten from. I would not go back for any reason.

The food was ok. Average but it was tasty. The nan was plain but fresh and hot. The food was NOT greasy, over cooked or under cooked, salty or burned... We had 3 appetizers, soups, 3 entrees and strong coffee. There was no food poisoning for the 5 of us or uncomfortable gases. Service was good, so for the folks who gave 1 star... I dont know what you were expecting, but I suspect you have unrealistic expectations or something personal happening here. If you cant give an objective review, stay home and cook if you can do better

Negatives: Not the best Portion size. When taking out, requesting delivery you really have to specify that you need "GREEN chutney" else you wont get it :-) Positives: Delivery in Malden... I think there is a little extra charge (very nominal)... but for someone who doesnt want to drive and park. this is good. When everyone closes doors at you (10PM), this guy is ready to deliver and is prompt at delivering + He was patient for me to open the door for him. Let me make clear on my review. I am a South Indian, so we generally have clarity between pulav and biryani.. These people made biryani using ingredients of both, so it tasted worst.. Beware who are expecting hyderabadi biryani, PEAS and CAPSICUM are part of these people biryani.. Appetizers, we ordered is non-veg platter hoping to taste best of everything.. every piece of meat tasted like freshly heated rubber.. if you are looking for good taste, this is not the place..

I have been to Joti Palace several times. Its a nice place to dine with family/friends. The ambience is good. The staff is very helpful, polite and welcoming. Food is good. I especially like their chicken tikka masala, onion kulacha, garlic naan and Mango lassy. The taste is close to what you would get in India, not exactly same though. Dont forget to tell them "extra spicy" if you are an indian :) Ambience : 5 stars Staff and service : 5 stars Food quality : 4 stars

Dont order any non veg chicken items using grub hub.. we had ordered from here in the evening from grub hub and the order they prepared was done using stale chicken.. we are now at the restaurant returning the food.. UPDATE.. when we reached there the manager was apologetic and he had the chef re-make our order properly.. the food was good.. not sure why the grubhub orders get screwed up though.. call and order they will make it properly:.

After 1 hour and 40 minutes my food hadnt arrived. When I called to complain, I was passed to a person who shouted at me, hung up on me and then told me he wouldnt reimburse my money for me canceling my order. He told me to "call my credit card company". I never got to taste the food but if it is anywhere near the terrible customer service, then I would rather not find out how it tastes. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT!

Got some take out here since its one of the only Indian places in the Malden Center area. This place is always empty when I walk by which makes me wonder sometimes. The service is fast and the food is typical indian fair but nothing exceptional. I got the paneer korma dish and some samosas and overall its not bad but nothing great. The portions are good sized for the price and you get rice with your entree.

This is a long time favorite for my husband and me! The quality of food is outstanding (especially considering the low prices). Theres always been ample seating when we go because they do a very strong takeout/delivery service. The owners are fantastic people. Since weve moved, we dont go here as much, but they still always remember us and our order!

The restaurant is a "humble" space, not fancy. The menu is extensive, the lunch buffet is not huge... but the food is absolutely the best around, very fresh, very home cooked. Its a family operation, you might even meet the little kids. If you want fancy, go elsewhere, that way therell always be plenty of room for me and my family here! :-)
