After dinner in Back Bay, I stopped into Thinking Cup, a decent sized coffeehouse on Newbury Street in Back Bay. The menu is written on wood framed chalkboard. The menu consists of hot and cold beverages, grilled cheese, and sandwiches. In addition to the menu items, they sell pastries, baked goods, chia power pudding, and bottled beverages (e.g., sodas). Its a neat place to study and/or work. The cafe is decorated with musical instruments (e.g., saxophone, trumpet, and violin) and vintage table with newspaper prints below the glass. I ordered a White Chocolate Matcha Cake and a Chai Latte. The White Chocolate Matcha Cake is best described as a marbled pound cake consisting of swirls of citrus infused white chocolate cake and matcha cake. I liked how the top of the chai latte was foamy and frothy. I got a tiramisu, fruit tart, and pistachio macaron to go to enjoy for the rest of the week. Id recommend both the tiramisu and fruit tart as they were moist and fresh. I was disappointed I couldnt taste pistachio in the pistachio macaron.

Where to start with my favorite cafe(s) in Boston? Every spot I have stopped by has been extremely busy, so this is not your quiet little cafe scene. They have a simple but unique coffee and espresso menu. Personally, my favorite has been their cinnamon honey latte. I just cant get enough! Plus every order has had beautiful latte art, really showing off their creative skills. On the food side they offer pastries along with other sandwiches and salads. I had their bacon, egg and cheese on an English muffin today. Well lets just say not a crumb survived. I have also been eyeing a pasta salad that I will probably get for lunch this week. Their service is top notch too. They are quick but courteous at the front registers. The order is normally processed in under a few minutes and they get your name right. The whole place is kept clean, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Really you should stop by and check it out if your looking for a nice cafe experience in Back Bay.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops around Boston. Its especially nice after a long day. The lighting is warm and relaxing. The decorations are very interesting, love the musical instruments! They have a wide array of yummy treats. A tried and true favorite has to be the salted chocolate chip cookie. Its the perfect balance of salty and sweet! I love their mochas. They create each drink with care, and always do latte art! My husband tried the bourbon latte (which was a special and had to be consumed in store) and he said it was delicious! This is a consistent coffee shop, that delivers quality and tasty products. Worth a stop!

Great atmosphere, somewhat mixed prices. Regular coffees were actually a little cheaper than what I was used to, but speciality drinks were much more expensive. I ordered a "french hot chocolate" for $4.50 without having any idea what it was. Got what basically amounted to running hot chocolate mix through an espresso machine... with appropriately sized cup. Didnt even go near the desserts, I could tell theyd be out of budget just by looking at them. Regardless, the atmosphere here is amazing. Great place to read or hang out with friends.

Ambiance was great for people watching as you enjoy your individual pot of tea with a spot of cream. I love their rooibos tea and thought their hazelnut latte was interesting since the toasted hazelnut paste made it have a gritty texture but deep hazelnut flavor and not too sweet but just enough sweetness. I thought their key lime tart is tart just the way I like it. Customizing your own grilled cheese sandwich was the perfect comfort food. I had the basil foccacia bread, white cheddar, arugala, and roasted peppers - mmm good.

Being a bit of a coffee/food snob from New Orleans, I absolutely LOVED loved this place! It is located right by the Boston Common and the Boylston metro stop very near the theater district. My wife and I had breakfast there three days in a row and were never disappointed. She loved the quiche and I really enjoyed the English muffin egg/bacon/sausage sandwiches. I also tried an almond croissant and it was perfect. And let me not forget the coffee! Perfectly brewed and tasty, I highly recommend this place.

Perhaps a victim of its own success, this cozy coffee shop looks inviting indeed, however the volume of business, perhaps overwhelming to the staff, creates a get in & get out rushed feel. That in itself wasnt enough to bother me, but when I tasted my very pretty mocha, I couldnt taste or smell any espresso. When I brought it to the attention of the barista, instead of offering to fix the drink, they responded with, "It was made right, thats how it is", which of course didnt sit well with me.

High quality coffee shop (one of three locations in Boston) that deals in very high volume in a consistently efficient manner. Coffee is of consistent quality and while the line is always to the door the employees here always deal with the nearly omnipresent rush of customers with grace and efficiency. Downside is you can almost never get a table here and its small and narrow. I much prefer their locations in North End and Commons to this Newbury St. location.

Very crowded at lunch and restaurant was difficult to move in. Was given the wrong sandwich at first and then when corrected, the grilled cheese was burnt. Having already waited long enough we dealt with it as is but were not happy. The other sandwich was a buffalo chicken one. It was ok, but for $9 was surprised it came with no other side. They did have a nice selection of other items, but my overall experience there will not see me return.

Excellent quality food and drink. Pastries are top notch and they make some of the best hot drinks. Big fan of the French hot chocolate during the winter. Only minor downside is this location gets very crowded in the evening. If the weather is bad or cold, so basically when the patio seating is unavailable, it can be tough to find a seat. And the seating is very snug.

Espresso as it should be - rich, buttery, smooth - for true fans. Serving Stumptown Coffee, so if you arent visiting the Pacific Northwest anytime soon, this place is your chance to break from Starbucks or local roaster. Cold brew Stumptown on tap. Patron line moved fast both times. Gluten free cookies and pastries but did not try. Lots of outside sidewalk seating.

Great spot for a date or a break from the heat. Their ice coffee is delicious and perfect for the summer Boston heat. Seating is tight because it is busy. But youll have no trouble ordering and getting your drink quickly. Also, the staff is nice and the place is clean. A bit pricy ($6 for a Cornmeal Blueberry cake and a pistachio macaroon).

Awesome place to grab a coffee, tea, or light lunch! The atmosphere was busy and the food was delicious. They even have gluten-free bread and pastries! My mother and I ordered the same sandwich and I wasnt charged extra for the gf - a nice change from being charged an arm and a leg for different bread! Fun decor, friendly staff.

Ive come here a couple of times and enjoyed it both times. Slightly pricey for breakfast but only slightly, especially considering the neighborhood. Most recently I had a quiche which was full of veggies which I always like. As most of these places do, it came with some arugula on the side which was unnecessary but fine.
