Arguably best coffee shop in town, certainly best in Back Bay. Coffee quality, both espresso and drip, is top notch. This is certainly helped by the Barrington coffee beans. Baristas are phenomenal, knowledgable, make consistently excellent espresso drinks. Most of the time shop has seating space for work, along with free internet. My only gripe is that on one occasion I came at 7:02am on a particularly cold Saturday morning (think mid teens temperature) and got kicked out of the shop by the barista because "they were not ready." I was particularly infuriated because 1) they are supposed to be ready to go at 7am and 2) I couldnt quite understand why I had to wait outside in the freezing cold and not inside while they were setting up the machines. I ended up leaving without a drink. Having said this, I have been to the shop numerous times (although never again right at opening time), and this appears to an isolated incident. Definitely highly recommended.

Great coffee. I had my first steam punk- comparable to aeropress. I asked what it was and the barista explained the process but when I asked about customizing he seemed almost insulted and said if you add sweetener or milk youre just getting the same cup of coffee as anywhere else. I understand that but his delivery was a little pretentious. This was a very clean, modern place with a more upscale vibe though not upscale in general. The coffee was smooth and nutty. I did let him choose based off my taste preference and he did very well. They were friendly but its not as cozy as equal exchange or pavement also in the city. Id still go back and do recommend it. Their matcha tea latte was very good!

Muy buen lugar. El local es muy cómodo y bien ubicado. La atención es muy amable y los precios acordes a la calidad de lo que ofrecen. El café está muy bien preparado, hay mucha dedicación en eso y se nota. Muy recomendable

Barrington Coffee is one of my favorite cafes in Boston. I think the staff is always consistent, knowledgable and friendly and the coffee quality is great. I usually get an almond milk latte or an iced matcha and Im never dissappointed. I havent tried any of their food aside from a cookie which was delicious but I would like to see a little more variety in their food offerings aside from pastries. Overall this is a relaxing place to get some work done on my computer, and the outside seating is a plus.

For starters, the coffee and the espresso are world class; it is clear how much attention was paid at each point in the harvesting, roasting, and brewing process. Not only do each of the baristas express an astronomical level of skill, they reciprocate any kindness received and more. Not the most comfortable of coffee shops to hang out in, but that doesnt come across; the tables are almost always full. A testament to how worthwhile the coffee and service are.

One of the best coffee shops in Boston. Their espresso drinks are incredibly good, and this location features a Steampunk coffee brewer that Ive never seen anywhere else. Great place to get some work done while you get your caffeine fix. Also outdoor seating! If you like their coffees, treat yourself and get a bag of their fresh roasted varieties.

My favorite Back Bay coffee establishment. You really cant go wrong with this New England roaster. Notably this location has unique steampunks to brew. Select a special bean from the board on the wall, get a tour of the the process from a barista. They serve the special coffees in sealed Chemix carafes. Barrington is a winner so dont miss it.

Solid choice for a simple coffee, this shop emphasizes the flavor of the coffee itself in their drinks. They order in a selection of pastries from a local bakery, so simple snacks are available as well. The location is private, while still very accessible (right on Newbury). This is a nice place to work or study, with plenty of light.

Im hooked. Ive been here two days in a row now. First time I came here, I had a flat white which was exceptional. Today, I saw what the steampunk coffee is all about. Its fun to watch, and the end result is amazing. Tried the Ntarambo and it might have been the best damn cup of coffee I have ever had.

My husband and I love good coffee and this is hands-down the best place for espresso in Back Bay, or dare I say in Boston. Their cappuccino is absolutely perfection and always consistent. We go there all the time to do work and theres almost always ample seating and the ambiance is wonderful.

Best coffee around. Cant beat it. I love the steampunk / frankenstein machine they have. Its truly unique. Another huge plus about this spot is the service. The staff always greets patrons entering down the steps. They are very welcoming. I would absolutely recommend it!

Excellent gourmet coffee shop with well-crafted traditional coffee drinks and locally-sourced light snacks. The drink quality is quite high and its easy to see their baristas a lot of pride in their work. The shop is well-furnished with both indoor and patio seating.

All around great coffeeshop that really makes coffee a priority (seems obvious I know). They have great espresso-based drinks and a selection of tasty coffee beans available at market price. Fairly quiet, clean atmosphere as well.

I got their Gold roast and French roast. Both are nice and with almost no bitterness at all, but do also come out rather bland without any complexity or much aroma to speak of. Good, but not great.

Best locally roasted coffee around, and they do it right: lightly done so one may experience the subtle nuances of single origin varieties. Service is prompt and fair without pomp for pure java!

One of the worst latte Ive had in my life. Despite the price I payed for it, I couldnt bring myself to finish it. Too bad because the location is great and the place looked good.

One of Bostons best roasters and a nice little cafe. The americanos are made with two shots and not watered down to save money.

Coffee is decent, but does not measure up to West Coast standards. They have a cool machine for a single cup coffee.
