My fiance and I went to dine here the other night. Overall, Id have to say the food was excellent and the atmosphere was chic. I gave this four stars only because after we were led to a center table along a booth, I asked whether we could sit in the corner booth to which I was told we couldnt. She said it was reserved. Shortly after, two older businessmen were led there - may be profiling but didnt seem the type who would recommend a cozy, cute corner table. Anyway, we ordered the escargot (have to admit, the presentation wasnt the best Ive seen - the poor guys were just floating around an oversized bowl with broth). However, the scallops were excellent and my fiances dish, the pork shank with eggplant parmigiana, had a delicious rich flavor. Skipped the after dinner drinks and dessert, but desserts that passed by our table looked delish as well.

I came here for the Zagat 30 under 30 party and it was fantastic. The coctails and food were amazing (I have to assume thats how they always are--why make things better for one night?) and the decor inside was great for the event. Good to see that they can change a restaurant/bar into a place to have a event where most people will be standing easily (I assume it was easy because it looked great). I dont recall the cocktail name but it had St Germain and I believe French or Paris in the title. They were making them strong! I hope they always do! The caprese sandwich was to die for--roasting a tomato before slicing and putting it on the sandwich? Brilliant! There were some other great foods, but that one stood out. Staff were nice and seemed to be having a good time too, which always makes the event more fun.

Bastille kitchen has managed to make a large space feel cosy and atmospheric. The bar area is large, with not only bar chairs but couches to relax in. The cocktail menu is very french (as expected) with expertly made cocktails and an extension wine list. I found the service to be great but the most disappointing part of our experience was the food, especially for the price. All our dishes lacked a wow factor and the food was not traditionally french, as I had hoped. The escargot was baked into a pastry, for example, instead of being served floating in garlic sauce.

A nicely renovated warehouse results in a wonderful dinning space. The food here is good, though not quite as memorable or distinctive as one might hope. The service was very polite, friendly, and helpful, although it was a little slow. As a quibble, we ordered drinks at the bar while waiting for our table to be set up and they were unable to transfer the tab to the bill for our table. A minor annoyance, certainly, but worth mentioning. Overall, Bastille is definitely worth considering if you are looking for a restaurant in the area.

Had to check out the new neighborhood hotspot, and was not disappointed. I sat at the bar for dinner and drinks, and loved the atmosphere of the place. Next time I need to check out the Chalet cocktail bar downstairs with some friends! Food was solid - I had the tea-smoked clams followed by short rib wellington (so rich!). The "bastille butter" with the bread was outrageously good. Good cocktails and wine selections, and a really friendly and helpful bartender (hi Dara!). Ill definitely be back!

really wanted to like this place given all the recent hype. The space is beautiful and very large. The service was not great. When we finished our wine, the waitress never asked if we wanted another glass and my husbands steak was completely overcooked but no waitress ever came to check how we liked our meals. I did enjoy that instead of bread rolls, they provide croissants but sadly the croissants were the best food we tasted. Food was mediocre at best. Had such higher hopes!

I really dont understand how a place like this has the audacity to charge those prices for such bad service and such bad food. The only good thing was the beet salad since they basically didnt do anything to it but simply placing the ingredients together on a plate. Everything else was so bad I dont even want to write about so I dont have to remember it. The bartender could not care less about us. Lazy and long wait. What a waste of money. Its upsetting and disappointing.

I really dont like writing negative reviews and being critical, but I have to say I was somewhat disappointed. My experience fell flat, mediocre, and very generic, almost chain like experience. Nothing about the food wowed me. Flavors were not there, service average, wine by the glass selection disappointing. I suggest a reevaluation by management of every aspect of this establishment, except for ambience. For the price, Id suggest other options.

Have been here a handful of times, always a great experience! The atmosphere is very cool and we have always had great service. Entrees were delicious and last time I was there for brunch, we ordered one of each dessert for the group. They were all amazing! Even the desserts that were “classic” had a unique spin on them with different flavors and presentation. Definitely will go back!

I have only been to the downstairs bar for drinks for a friends birthday, but it was really a beautiful set up. They have couches and a fireplace that makes you feel like you are at a ski chalet instead of Seaport restaurant. The music and vibe is cool and entertaining. Ive heard good things about the food (because I mean its French food, so duh) but I plan to go back to try it out.

Went to an event here and the space was beautiful. Very fancy and mostly out of my usual comfort zone as far as the passed appetizers are concerns. Like Steak Tartar and Grilled Beets wrapped in prosciutto. Very good though. The Bastille Burger was delicious. But the best ever was the Pork Belly - Quail Egg - Grilled Cheese. Yup

Excellent service that lived up to the price point. The pate appetizer was generous, designed to be shared. Both the escargot and mussels were served in unconventional ways that were not I quite as good as there more traditional counterparts. The short rib and polenta was outstanding.

My husband and I enjoyed a very early dinner before heading out to a party and the food and service were fantastic. The lamb shank was succulent and the mussels appetizer was delicious. House special cocktails were delicious as well.

Uncomfortable with the atmosphere-- waitresses in short pleather dresses, suggestive objects behind bar, etc. High prices, small portions, too loud. May appeal to others, but I prefer a more casual and relaxing setting.

The food was good, I really liked the atmosphere, nice low light levels so you can relax with your friends during dinner. Id recommend this place if your looking for a relaxing dinner with good food.

Cute location in Fort Point, sprawling open layout with a unique warehouse feel. The food was tasty but nothing to write home about. I would recommend trying the champagne cocktail, La Vie en Rose.
