This is a classy place with very good food indeed. Tonight I was there with my wife and our daughter. The place serves everyone straight away with ice cold water and a basket of excellent poppadums - best Ive ever tasted. My wife doesnt like spicy, so she opted for a simple chicken Tikka Sizzler, which she shared with our daughter who is also not a fan of spices - it was delicious. I went with Papri Chaat, which is a cold dish and quite spicy. Its very good and the portion size is probably enough for two or even three. I was starving so I wolfed the lot down and followed it with a lovely dish of Malai Kofta which is a vegetarian dish of minced vegetable dumplings in a delicious mildly spiced cream sauce. Again, the portion was enough for two, but I was a piggy tonight and I scoffed the lot down. All of that I washed down with a glass of their lovely Mango Lassi, which is a yogurt drink - kinda like a smooth fruit flavoured milk shake - it works very well at neutralizing hot spices, so if youre worried about your tolerance for Indian spices, make sure to order one of these. We got through one platter of rice and the waiter quickly offered us another. Service was excellent. Altogether a great evening out. Next time Ill have to be a bit more adventurous and go for something to really test them - maybe a Chicken Vindaloo - that always sorts the wheat from the chaff. Judging by todays meal though, I doubt it would be anything other than perfect.

I am only commenting on the buffet dosa because that is all I had. It wasnt very good and I would say it was disappointing and mediocre at best. While the buffet has much more to offer and is a very good lunch deal, I was just there for the dosa and all you can eat dosa for $10 is a good deal. The outside was soggy as if it was sitting in the heating tray for a long time, the filling was decent but not enough, and the sambar tasted like it was from a mix. I heard good things about this place from some of my south Indian friends. Maybe I should have ordered the dosa a la carte, my mom did that and hers was worlds apart in taste and appearance. I tried a bit and while the filling portion was still lacking, it was fresh and made to order. I think that might be the best way to go for the best dosas. And for the people who care about this stuff to help the validity of the review: I am a Indian guy 25 yrs old been lived in nova for 20 years and have been eating home cooked Indian food my whole life.

I see reviews for this restaurant but believe me these people do not serve the fresh food. It is previously cooked and just warmed/microwaved to serve you. The workers in the restaurant disclosed this to me when I questioned how could they cook two dishes in 5 minutes. Food was horrible, we had to throw it in trash. I called the restaurant and told the same and their reply was "Im sorry you did not like the food." Believe me this restaurant serve very bad Indian food no way close to Indian authentic food, I know it because I am Indian.

OVERPRICED! 1 piece of chapati $3 - Overpriced X2 I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala the portion is not proportional to $18 per dish that was charged. They got jokes here! No wonder the place was completely empty. Ill take Indian Jewel Restaurant any day!! Theyre so awesome I cant compare it to this place. Im still trying to understand how I got charged $3 per piece (chapati) OMG stay away from this place all they want is money. They serve you 1/3 of the portion and charge you full price. No flavor @ Chicken Tikka Masala

The location is awful. Parking situation is bad. The restaurant owner is too greedy and placed too many tables - you feel like you are sitting with everyone for food. Too noisy and crowded. We went for the buffet - there are fewer food items than other Indian buffet places. The food tastes okay but the hygiene is bad they placed the food items like chutney without any tops and very close to the passage to restrooms! And the buffet cost 15$? For that money I expected much better.

The most horrible Indian food I have ever had in my entire life. There is no taste in the food and the grilled stuff was even more miserable. I suggest they get a cook that knows what Indian food is about and may be he should visit couple of Indian restaurants and get to know what Indian taste is all about. And I if you want recommendation after that I will be happy to give you some. I would not recommend anyone to throw their money down the drain by coming to this restaurant.

Horrible sums it!!! ONE STAR - Across the board (food, service). The Tiffin restaurant runs the business under the "Udipi Cafe" banner which use to be a 5-Star restaurant. Tiffin, however, is just the opposite. Every dish we had ordered was horrible. Would never go back to this place. Folks who are looking to go to Udipi Cafe -- Watch out, the new business name is Udipi/Tiffin and this place is the worst!

I ordered the Chana Bhatura and Samosa appetizer. The samosa was typical potato filled but it felt freshly cooked. The chana bhatura is chick peas and 2 pieces of fried bread called bhatura. The chana was delicious, and overall the food was tasty. The restaurant is nice and open, high ceiling and clean. Staff was friendly. Nice place to eat out with friends and family.

Good Food, Great Service! This is a wonderful restaurant, a hidden gem. You will eat delicious food and be treated very well! The saturday buffet is sumptuous and the waiters are the nicest people in the world! We love chili chicken, chicken korma and goat curry. All of the vegetable dishes are delicious too! Try the pink falooda drink for dessert!

Ive lived in the area my whole life and Ive been coming to Tiffin ever since it opened. No other Indian restaurant in the area can compare to Tiffin! The taste, flavor, spice, and quality, are all miles ahead from the competition. I will choose them above everyone else because my tummy feels so right after eating there.

This place is wonderful. We took our 3 year old and 1 year old, and the staff was universally welcoming and friendly to the kids -- the manager even gave our 3 year old her own special nan. The food was outstanding and very filling -- we barely finished half our meals. Definitely worth coming to again and again!

Tiffin is delicious! Im personally fond of the chicken shahi korma as well as the chicken tikka masala. I particularly like that they are constantly circulating to refill water. The buffet is good too. Not a huge selection, but theres always at least one thing I like even if its not my favorite thing.

Food was ok. Not a lot of varieties. But I hated to eat at this place due to a noisy Indian ladies group laughing and screaming all around. No tea, very mediocre dessert. Over all I will never go here again. You pay less for better restaurants, great good and good ambience elsewhere.

Amazing food!!! My wife and I took our kids there when they were both in car carriers. We come back now on a regular basis and the kids are not 12 and 9. The owner comes out to greet us and we always walk away very satisfied.
