I visited in the mid-afternoon on a weekday, when the restaurant was almost empty. I like this approach when trying a new restaurant, because the chef has plenty of attention to pay to cooking whatever I order (this approach can backfire, of course, if you get served food leftover from lunch, but that wasnt the case here). I ordered pakoras, which had a wonderful texture and flavor - they were unlike pakoras Ive had before that were individual battered and fried pieces of vegetable; at Maurya, theyre balls of battered and fried vegetables - much like frying the filling of a samosa. My mango lassi was exactly what I expected, and exactly like the lassis Ive had at other Indian restaurants. I ordered matar paneer as my entree - it was delicious, with house-made paneer and a very flavorful sauce, just spicy enough for the American palate. The portion size was slightly larger than Ive come to expect from Indian restaurants, and the entree came with basmati rice, a side salad, and an entire naan. The naan was better than most Ive had - perfectly cooked with a slightly crispy exterior (but barely any blackening) and tender interior around the edges. Good flavor, too! Atmosphere is average for an Indian restaurant in a stripmall. The bones (tables and banquettes) are what youd expect for any restaurant in a stripmall; obligatory Indian decorations adorn the walls, along with a flat-screen TV (tuned to CNN when I dined). Wait staff was attentive, though take that with a grain of salt, or seed of anise, since I was the only customer at the time. Cleanliness was good, both in the restaurant and the bathroom. There are a few peculiarities worth mentioning, re: the service. If youre a tree-hugger, you might not want to come: all of the food and beverage is served in disposable (some styrofoam) dishes; also disposable cutlery. I obtained my napkin, plastic fork, and styrofoam cup of water (filled from a communal cooler) on my own from a spot near the buffet - so clearly you can save on the tip by visiting Maurya! The waiter did bring me a styrofoam to-go container upon request. Now that I can make a personal recommendation about the quality of the food to my family, Im sure Ill be taking them back to Maurya soon to try more items from the menu.

Im extremely upset with the manager. As I work for the FDA right beside the shopping center and enjoyed the food on one of my lunch breaks. I decided to take my son out to experience Indian food and culture as his mentor is Indian. I fixed my son small portions from the buffet to sample, when we returned to the buffet to sample more, the manager told me my son was WASTING TOO MUCH FOOD, hes not eating the food on the plate. I was shocked that he would say such a thing and my son heard him also. As I was paying for our meal, I explained to him how rude that was and that this was an day out to experience Indian culture and food, that he tried to ruin but did not. I then informed him that we would not return and where I worked, and I would be sure to tell all my coworkers about my experience at this restaurant. He has no customer service skills as he did not apologize or try to rectify the situation to ensure that I would return, just wanted to make sure I didnt tell anyone at my job what happened. Truly sad.

I catered 2 days of lunch with this restaurant. The restaurant manager was super helpful in helping me put together a menu that both met our dietary needs and for a very reasonable price given the portion size. Everyone was stuffed and really enjoyed the food everything from the paneer dishes to the aloo matter. But what really tipped the scale for a 5 star rating was the staffs kindliness and flexibility. Due to changing needs we had to revise the order several times. Other restaurants were impatient and simply rude, but Jude from here was not only accommodating but was genuinely understanding and did not make us feel like an inconvenience. I will definitely come back!! Thanks Jude!!

They discriminate people when it comes to catering especially if you are their new customer. I had horrible experience with them. I ordered chicken roast and goat curry. I got very bad quality meat with terrible taste, which I was embarrassed to serve to my guests. Whhat they didnt realize is that I couldve been their regular loyal cusyomer who would"ve benefitted their catering business if they had treated all customers equally with good quality food. So watch out when you order for catering. They can rip you off.

Place was awesome when located in the space where Blowfish bar is now working out of. Now the buffet is cheap and the chicken served is leftover peace after the chicken breasts are separated and used for overcharged dinners after buffet. The chicken during the buffet is all bones and the vegetarian options are bland and moosh. Go to Curry Leaf, Sapphire or Jewel of India instead. This place is all about profit without having good business practice and dont care about the customer.

The service is 3/5 and the food is1/5. The menu is pricey but the food is bad. I have to admit that, i went there for food when returning back from my office due to first name of restaurant matches my family surname. But mine experience was bad with food. Food must look good, smell good and taste good. But, none of them was maintained.

The staff always are very friendly and seem happy to have customers. Its the best Indian food in the area. With as poor as the other options in the area are, Im always amazed at how few people are here. Theres never been more than 1 other party when i was here.

Dont let the hard to enter/exit parking lot deter you. This place has very good indian food. Ive had their lamb curry, lamb dopiaza, their vegitable curry, their vindiloo, and their butter chicken. They were all delicious, just avoid the shrimp curry.

Decent Indian food. Actually given its the only Indian restaurant in the vicinity they could have gotten away with minimal resemblance to Indian preparations, not this place. The palate was very Indian and the food satisfying Definitely recommend

Not a bad buffet for the $8 or $9 dollars and the fresh naan is awesome, but the options they have are always the exact same. Every. Single. Day. For this reason its only worth going to once every month or two.

Place is a hit or miss, Ive had the buffet and the selection is always the same. I usually venture out to there competitors since they have a vast selection unlike Maurya. Even the samosas are pricey....

Do not be misled by the "buffet" label. It is a LUNCH ONLY buffet. Disappointing, as we got off I-95 specifically to have dinner there after reading about it here.

Great Indian Food! I visit very frequently and really like the Channa Masala, Bhindi Masala and Goat curry. They have a great lunch buffet also.
