Whenever my wife and I have family visiting from out of town, we always take them to Spice 6. The combination of delicious fresh food, beautiful decor, amazingly polite and helpful staff, and very affordable prices keeps us coming back. As a Pakistani American, I was skeptical at first, assuming the flavors of this unique fusion restaurant would be watered down. But Spice 6 has managed to keep all the authentic flavors while lowering the spiciness to levels reasonable for anyone. Im particularly a fan of the chicken, which is always moist and delicious, wrapped in their famous fresh naan (cooked in an authentic tandoor) with tikki masala sauce on top and some tamarind chutney and green chutney for a little sweet and spicy touch. My wife gets the rice bowl, also delicious and a little easier to eat, but I think the fresh naan bread is a must-try for everyone. The samosa chaat is also always fresh and delicious, and the mango lassi is nice with the meal or as dessert afterwards. The decor is elegant, fun, and deeply cultural, all the way down to the richly colored walls, gold serving trays, and authentic South Asian music playing softly overhead. I cannot say enough about the genuinely polite and helpful staff. They are always patient, which is especially important given the build-your-own-bowl/pizza/wrap style of the restaurant, and serve every customer with a smile and how are you. More importantly, instead of staying behind the counter, the staff will regularly visit customers at their tables to ask about their food and experience and whether there is anything they can do or get for them. I am visited by staff at my table at least once every time I eat there, and the staff always make polite conversation with my guests from out of town, occasionally bringing something complimentary for dessert as a welcome. Finally, as a medical student married to another graduate student, I have to keep a tight budget when eating out, and I can honestly say that Spice 6 has very reasonable prices for large and filling portion sizes. I look forward to coming back again and again. Dont miss out on this gem of a restaurant. P.S. Spice 6 serves all halal/zabiha meat :)

As fast-casual, its not a typical Indian restaurant concept, but Spice 6 is excellent. The food is delicious, served quickly, and made to order for any taste. As a vegetarian, finding suitable fare can be difficult--but not at Spice 6! They offer veggies and tofu as meatless options, but asking for extra chickpeas--which are fantastic on their own--yields an additional heaping spoonful, or two. Dishes are served with choice of toppings: curries, chutneys, and vegetables. And the naan is made fresh before your eyes, in a tandoor behind a floor-to-ceiling window. Whats more, the employees are warm and clearly care about providing a quality meal; as you eat, someone will come to the table to be sure youre enjoying your food. I eat at Spice 6 regularly, and enjoy it every time.

If you have no idea of what Indian cuisine is, this is an OK place to go. The food is bland and not authentic at all. But maybe you are looking for that. They allow you to pick and choose your meat and sauce, and that means that the meat was not cooked in the sauce - an essential component of Indian cooking. And they mix all your toppings together in one bowl - the mild yogurt sauce Raita and the mint sauce all in one. This allows you to enjoy the confusion of multiple contrasting flavors in one bite - but maybe you like to be confused. All said, this is the place to go if what you want is Indian food mixed together until it tastes of nothing like what its supposed to be.

Its an interesting idea to start an Indian fastfood restaurant, but it works. The naan is made in a proper Tandoori oven and the curries are properly prepared. However, its very different from a proper Indian restaurant, because many options are somewhat Americanized: you can order a naan pizza and they will add lettuce etc. on top of your bowl like you would get at Chipotle. Obviously, you can order more traditional versions and either way you will get delicious food - but be aware that its a bit different from the standard Indian place that you may know.

DC is all over Chipotle concept fast food - Spice 6 is another successful example! Naan wrap , entree box, and salad - all the curries, spices, and chutneys complemented so well with each other. Aside from the fact that we did see my husbands lamb kabobs being microwaved - everything else appeared fresh and made to order. Major kudos on not chastising my odd taste bud - piling every curry, chutney possible onto my salad bowl (It actually tasted amazing!). Service was warm, space was bright + clean - Would definitely return to create my own naan pizza!

Its been a while since Spice 6 first opened up and Ive continued going back since. Though I had initial doubts, theyve maintained food quality. The menu options and ingredients list are great, from the naan wrap to the bowl to naan pizza. I prefer the naan pizza. It is relatively a bit pricey given the amount of food you get here vs. for example, the Chipotle around the corner. I also wish that the sauced vegetables didnt cost extra. The restaurant space itself is really nice! Decor and seating are contemporary and comfortable.

Long time since Ive been here since visiting D.C. but they made a good impression, thats for sure! Never would I have imagined Indian cuisine married so well with an Italian creation such as pizza, but damn does it work well. Its Indian food with a modern twist and it works so well. This is a gem of Hyattsville and if youre visiting D.C, its not too far either. Whenever Im back, this is a definite place to stop by, without a doubt!

Yesterday my niece and I decided to forgo Bus Boys & Poets and try something different. Tried the naan pizza with lamb topping. It was really good. My niece had their lamb platter, very good. Food was not over the top fancy but tasty and filling. I am going back today for another pizza. Service was good. Will be going back soon. Only giving it four stars because it was too cold inside to enjoy the food. Had to sit outside.

Indian Chipotle! $15 gives you a Garlic Naan, freshly made in store, plus a big and hearty rice bowl of Lamb, with plenty of vegetables, chutneys, curry and some extras. Ive been here for about 5 times, never disappointed. Even once when I came about 9:40pm (They close at 10), they still have fresh food and treated me without any problem. Every dollar you will spent here is 100% worth it!

Great for a fast Indian experience without the cost of a full sit down meal at a typical Indian restaurant. The employees seem to really care and remember their regular customer. Wish we still lived close because back when we were regular customers my daughter actually ate the food and didnt insist on mac & cheese for every meal.

I had said to my daughter that she and her husband should open a fast food Indian Restaurant and a few months later she took me to one already in Hyattsville. The prices are sooo reasonable and the food is Divine. I have tasted all the vegetarian dishes in the place! Loved them all! Give yourself a treat! Go to Spice 6 and eat!
