I have been going to Katana since they opened over 7 years ago. It is without question the best sushi I have had in the States. I have brought several friends here throughout the years from all over the country, and they always want to go back. Their current sushi chef Wei Wei has been there for over 2 years and he is truly an artist. Although they can get busy some nights, the service has always been excellent.

I have been driving all the way from Baltimore to eat sushi here for the past 7 years. I know Lots of sushi restaurants closer to me. However, none can compare to the service, quality of the food and the overall experience that I have enjoyed here at Katana. Specially on days the "Ninja Master" Wei Wei AKA David was working.

Sushi chefs are GREAT! From soup, salad and dinner to every roll they make, all food is fantastic! Nice place, a little smaller than expected. But wonderful staff who provided suggestions for the tastes we were looking for, as well as describing the recommendations. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We truly have enjoyed everything weve tried in our many visits. We have been to Sushi Restaurants all over the US and this is in our top 3. Service is slowly but surely catching up with the excellent food and atmosphere. All this in Mount Airy, Maryland. The "place" to eat.

No complaints and the drinks were good too. I tried the Toro special and wasnt let down at all. Now if they had sports channel on instead of a fishing show with some old dude kissing a fish in the mouth this would have been a easy 5 star.

Decent Japanese food for Mt Airy. It is not a seated Hibachi style and the sushi is just okay. Tuna and salmon rolls were really chewy. The dinner combo boxes were good. If you live here and want to stay close, it works.

The sushi is amazing. And the salmon skin salad.. And other stuff. Ive been there several times.. And im always satisfied with everything there=) highly recommend it to anyone who likes sushi =)

Nothing here that would distinguish Katana from any of the other sushi restaurants Ive been to in Maryland. Everything is fresh but heavy and not particularly delicious.
