Low grade horse meat served up by college frat boys. Avoid this place. Seriously. If youre starving and theres no other place to eat within 100 miles, dont eat here. Scavenge for plants or look for roadkill. But dont eat here. If its a choice between eating here or checking the dumpster behind Arbys for scraps, dont eat here. Even if the Arbys dumpster is empty, dont eat here. If someone takes you hostage and drags you to Urban BBQ, puts a gun to your head and sticks a plate of food (or what they call "food") in front of you, and says, "Eat or Ill shoot." Dont eat here. Tell the kidnapper youd rather call his bluff than eat the fried seagull or rotisserie rat this place serves. If its post-apocalypse and youre traveling across the country with your son (like in "The Road"), and your son says he really, really needs to eat, and you come across this place and they offer you anything on the menu free of charge, tell them, "No thanks. Well keep going. Hopefully theres a bunker full of food out there amidst the roving bands of cannibals." Dont eat here, is what Im trying to say.

These are tied with a few other places scattered around the Greater Washington area for Best Burgers Ever. As others have said, its kind of expensive, for example the burgers are about $8.00 the last time I checked, and the fries about $2.00, but the fries all alone are almost a meal by themselves. The staff are as friendly as anyone could reasonably expect, the cooks are really quite excellent, if not possibly actually Cordon Bleu. The chili is worthy to be called that in Texas. Possibly the best feature is the fixings-bar and the astonishing selection of obscure hot-sauces and pepper sauces that could peel the paint off of a 53 Oldsmobile. The fixings vegetables have always been fresh and presented well, and they didnt seem to mind if I bought a burger and made a little side salad out of the fixings.
The environment of this BBQ joint reminded me of Freddys from House of Cards. A small, cramped, and hot building with sticky surfaces. I ordered chicken, sliced brisket, cornbread, mashed potatos, and mac and cheese. The sides were GREAT compared to other BBQ places nearby. The chicken was pretty good (its hard to mess up chicken) but the brisket was very, very dry. Disappointing. The sauces were good, but not great (mostly Carolina Vinegary style). Overall its a nice BBQ place for takeout, but it seems uncomfortable to dine in due to the heat and sticky surfaces. Sides are great Entrees are average Sauces are slightly above average
I did not appreciate the service here. I was here recently with a group and they took more than twenty minutes to get out drinks here, we didnt even get a menu. everyone but me has gotten their food and all I ordered was a salad. the service is very friendly, but the environment has flies everywhere. one of the burgers meat was very raw. I have been waiting for utensils for a good ten minutes. they also put unappealing shows on the tv about bugs which made us lose our appetite. although, the waiters were very kind and friendly.
Urban Burger closed and this is now Urban BBQ, same owners, different menu. The change happened in 2011 I believe. I assume the reviews since then are about Urban BBQ. The menu is not very veg friendly. We liked the veggie burger that is no longer available after the change to BBQ.
Awesome burger made to order. Check. Delciious fries. Check. Surly dude with a mustache calling out your name to give you said delicious burger. Check. Owned by the same folks as Urban BBQ. Check. Way more hot sauce choices than any sane person should have. Check.
This restaurant is awful. When I first walk in the floor is sticky, people are yelling like maniacs. The food is also terrible. Id rather eat at my middle school cafateria then pay money to go to this awful restaurant. I warn you DO NOT COME TO THIS RESTURANT.
Surprised that this place is still in business, tried them a while back and hated the dry meat and terrible service. Gave them another shot and nothing has changed. The personnel on their phones are probably the ones writing positive reviews. Awful. Just awful

Good place to eat, at least the full sized restaurant in Ashton. I havent tried the lunch counter place before, but the barbecue is awesome at the Ashton place. I recommend this place over Famous Daves, and I like it a lot as well.
Got carryout for their Tuesday special on ribs and it was delicious. Moist juicy ribs at a great price. Would definitely recommend. Would also like to checkout their Wednesday burger specials one day but its dine in only.
A cute local option when needing to grab a bite in a rush. The food here is consistently fast and tasty with my favorite being their burgers with a side of Mac and cheese. Every time I come back to Rockville I stop by.
Worst customer service I have ever received! The hostess acted like I had personally offended her and all I had asked to do was look at the menu. She was unbelievably rude and I was so uncomfortable I had to leave.

Its a pity that they changed this to an Urban BBQ. We loved the unique burger offerings of Urban Burger and are sad to take it off our list of places to eat at. Well miss the SoCal and the shoestring fries.
Super friendly service and great food. The prices are just slightly overpriced and the seating area wasnt super comfortable. Still worth visiting every once in a while, but not a regular go to spot.

Really really great, the burgers, chicken breast, soup, name it, you cant go wrong! Friendly, fast, prices are reasonable, the quality is unparallel, and yes, it did used to be a chicken out.
It was Ok. Nothing special really. Saw all the good reviews, so I decided to try it out. Pulled Pork was ok, but the ribs were really dry & tasted like they just reheated it in the microwave.
My favorite location! The service is friendly and fast. And, the food is always delicious. The other Rockville, MD is also good but I really love this one because they have hush puppies!!
Regular at Ashton, Norbeck Road, and Rockville. Meats & side are great. They returned to their regular cornbread instead of the dry muffins - fixing the one complaint I had.
The BBQ here is delicious and the bar is pretty decent, the rib tips are really really good, definitely worth your while if your looking for BBQ in Montgomery county..

The veggie burger was fine (Boca if you are wondering) and the onion rings were great. My problem, it cost more than $8 for a veggie burger with cheese and a soda.
The food has been excellent here everytime I have visited. The best part of the place is the bar staff. They make the place worth coming back again and again.
Food was really good, one of the best bbq places in the dmv, service was good aswell, great music too. Great place to watch the big game and get some great Bbq
Delicious food, vast side dishes! Excelent beers selection (in Rockville, only at this location). Outstanding costumer service. Great meal! Thank you!
The ribs here are really good. Large portions for sides. The potato salad is my go-to side dish. Go here on a Tuesday and the ribs are half off.
The menu is strange. The alcohol is illegal. Watered down. Dont drink mixed drinks. Also dont drink the High Priced draft beers. They are fake.
