My husband and I dropped into Urban BBQ for a quick dinner on a Saturday night and we were sorely disappointed. We should have taken the hint when we noticed that the dining room was nearly empty during what should have been a peak time. I was hopeful when I saw macaroni and cheese on the menu, but when it arrived it was unmelted cheese on top of tasteless pasta. The potato salad was drowning in mayonnaise and the meat was bland. My husband’s cornbread came out in plastic wrap and given the taste we assume it had been under the heat lamp for a while. Overall, our food was definitely not worth $30 for two of us and we won’t be back.

Brisket is very tasty, as is the mac & cheese and the fries. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I go to this location, they cant prepare warm food. Everything is between cold and luke-warm. Other Urban BBQs (Rockville, Catonsville) dont have a problem with this, and youd think it would be a simple problem to fix. Just nuke it for 30 seconds if you absolutely have to. If I was paying $6 a meal I wouldnt expect better, but for $14-15 for lunch, cmon! Give me a reason not to go to Mission! Will gladly revise this review when things are better. I want this location to succeed!!

Ive been to other Urban BBQs so I thought Id give this one a shot. First thing I noticed was the menu was smaller than the other "full size" location Id visited. I was alone so I pulled up a seat at the small bar. Immediately after taking my order, they gave me the bill which I thought was odd. The food didnt take long and was tasty, though I didnt like it served on a paper sheet over the plastic tray. The BBQ sauce just makes too much of a mess. The service was pretty attentive though admittedly, I was one of the few patrons. Ill probably stick with Mission BBQ.

The food was ok. Food served on trays, not plates. Category of fast Famous Daves. Sweet tea was not sweet. Cornbread had real corn in it. Corn on the cob, greens, potatoe salad, and the rest of the sides were delicious. For a half slab of ribs you are going to pay $16 with 2 sides. If you can deal with pop music in the speakers being sung by the young staff, with an occasional nae nae...this is your place.

This is one of the Ledos owned chain versions of Urban. This one doesnt have the same character as the original one in Rockville, or the one in Olney. The food is very consistent but is not as good as the Rockville or Olney restaurant. The menus are also smaller at this one. All that being said I come here about once a month. Its still one of my favorite quick services bbq joints around.

If the food were more consistent, Id give four stars. Ive had a couple of excellent meals, a lot of average ones, and a couple that were just not good (brisket sandwich that came out cold like it had been in a refrigerator). I really want to like this place because they have some options that the closest competitor doesnt (chili, for example), but the inconsistent quality makes it tough.

Good food and great service. The manager Shaun went over and beyond what he had to do for us today when we had to return to correct an order. It did not even matter that the error couldve been on my part. He was just so gracious and pleasant along with all of the staff. Places with a staff like this one are hard to find. I will definitely be returning.

If you are in the mood for BBQ and want to try a new twist, definitely stop here. There is a bar in the corner and delicious food and unique menu items. You get a lot of food at reasonable prices. The employees even took amazing care of our little pug on a hot day with two boxes of treats for her to snack on and a large bowl of water.

Worst BBQ. My boyfriend and I came here and ordered brisket with coleslaw, and a pulled pork sandwich with fries. I know coleslaw is supposed to be cold, but not brisket, pulled pork and fries. They were the icky colder than room temperature cold. This was the first time coming to ubq. And it is probably the last.

Genuinely good BBQ. Ive traveled extensively and Ive finally found a place that matches the great BBQ that can be found all over Texas. Hands down its better than Mission or Dickeys. The quality of meat and the smoke flavor is great - not greasy, not salty and a wonderful smoke char.

We bought the brisket, pulled chicken, wings and pulled pork. Everything was seasoned well and not over seasoned. All meats were moist and had great taste with or without BBQ sauce. My favorite sauce was the Dragon Honey sauce! Service was great food was great. Give them a try!

Average bbq, the pulled pork was a bit dry, but they had a large selection of bbq sauce. The cornbread was very dense and lacked a bit of that southern flavor. It was also very expensive, to feed 3 adults and 2 children it was $80+ and two of us drank water.

The quality of the barbecue and food at UBQ is very good. More competition quality than competitors. GREAT local craft beer selection. Ribs were amazing and really tasty. Great atmosphere and staff! A winner for this neighborhood.

Really enjoyed the food and service. The food came out quick so that was good also. The only thing I want different is the sauces. The sauces are mainly vinegar based. We had the wings and beef brisket and really liked it.

My full rack ribs had no flavor and wasnt cooked all the way. Mac & Cheese had more butter than cheese, and had no flavor. Corn bread has actual corn in it. Mashed potatoes were the only decent thing I ordered.

Good BBQ. Not the best in the world, but it came out quick and warm. Inlove the corn bread and the mac and cheese is good. Another plus is the root beer on tap. I really enjoyed it and will come back.

Nice barbecue joint, even for a strip mall stting. The Texas steakhouse salad was delicious. Nice atmosphere, with the lights, music, and tvs.
