I am a Taiwanese guy working in Waldorf/Mechanicsvlle area for the past 7 years. Every time I need some "authentic" Chinese food, I have to drive for 1.5 hour to Rockville because all the Chinese food in Waldorf are like "American Chinese food" if you know what I mean. Last week I found out about Teariffic and finally went there on Saturday. The review I read said that the place is "hidden" in the plaza. Wow, that is not an exaggeration at all. This place is way behind Footwear store and if they didnt put up a sign for Teariffic "this way", I dont think Ill ever find it. lol Ok about food.... Ill list out: 1. Tea cold drinks. I got honey green tea with Bubble. If you are Chinese, you know what this is. I thought the bubble taste is pretty good. I like the smaller chewy ones and theirs is exactly like that. The cold drinks have two sizes Regular and Tall. I bought Tall but I thought the size is a bit too small for the price. The taste is good but the size needs to be bigger.. but since I cant get anything like this in Waldorf, I have no choice. :D 2. Food. Saturday is probably the 20% discount for Dim Sum. I bought like 4 dishes. The best one is that Sesame Fried Wonton. I dont think Ive had this when I was in Vancouver Canada but I have to say..they taste good and its only about $3.50 for 6 of them. My friend and I like it so much that we bought two. I ordered myself Hong Kong style wonton soup noodle. Oh my god, I havent had this "yellow, egg noodle" for a loooong time! The soup base is a bit "plain" (which somebody may like it more) but the wontons are surprisingly GOOD! Ive had many wontons before and the ones from Waldorf Chinese carryout are what I consider "gross" (mostly just flower with not much stuffings). Teariffics wontons are big and juicy and each one has a pretty big shrimp inside. This is the most surprising thing from Teariffic. I totally did not expect that. The HK style soup noodle is $6.99.. which is fair IMO. I also ordered fried dumplings. The texture is actually pretty good but its on the pricey side if you ask me. 6 pieces for about 4.50. :( While I was walking out the "cafe" (I dont really consider it a restaurant), I saw a black couple ordering Teriyaki Chicken on stick. I thought that dish looks pretty good. I havent tasted it though. Being a Taiwanese, I always check out what other people order. :P I think I am going to give that a try next time. 3. Oh, they have Wi-fi internet. 4. I thought the design of the Cafe is pretty nice. It looks "modern" enough for me. My biggest complaint about Chinese restaurants here is that every one of them looks so "old"... out of style. They use "rectangular" dishes instead of the old-fashioned "white circle dish". I thought thats a pretty nice touch. It adds to the atmosphere. You feel like you are in an authentic Hong Kong cafe. The total bill for my meal is about $36 and I gave $4 tip because I want to encourage them. I am a lonely Taiwanese here and I am super surprised that Southern Maryland has a cafe like this. Its not the best Ive had but its good enough. Ill definitely go back but I wont spend $40. Ill probably get HK noodle + sesame wonton. :D Conclusion: If you live in Rockville, you dont need to bother traveling 1.5 hour to here because you can probably get more authentic stuff but if you live in Waldorf and other southern part of Maryland, you should definitely check it out.

Excellent Chinese Food. My wife is gluten-free and they have a good selection. It is not the unhealthy, MSG-riddled cuisine of typical Chinese places. It is also very inexpensive. I pay no more for Tearrifics food than at other Chinese restaurants. Everything tastes fresh and your classic dishes are perfectly prepared. Their fried rice is different than most others. It isnt a greasy mess of salt and oil. If you are a regular Chinese food connoisseur, some dishes are slightly different, as they are prepared more healthily. I find this to be a welcome change. My wife and I have eaten here over twenty times in the past year. I love supporting the local businesses, especially such a friendly one as this. Its behind Famous Footwear, fyi. It might be hard to find your first time. It is down the little road immediately left of Famous Footwear, and right of Thai Inter.

I visited Teariffic Cafe today for about the 5th time. The only thing I am concerned about is the location. Basically when you go into San Souci plaza, it is on the far left side of the shopping center, right next to famous footwear and Marshalls.I am hoping that they stick around because they have the best asian food around IMO. I ordered the Korean Bbq beef with Kimchee and a coconut black tea. Their korean beef is to die for, it is the best beef dish I have ever tasted. It is also affordable compared to other restaurants that have served korean food.It is less than 10 bucks. And they give you plenty of sauce. I have eaten in before, and I also enjoyed some of their dim sum and other entrees. Also, if you have not had a coconut tea before you should try it, possibly the most tasty drink there is.

The food is really good. But, the customer services is Horrible. The cashier who took my order English was very broken. When I didnt understand her she raised her voice at me. The inside of building was extremely Hot and very comfortable to eat in. When they brought out my food my portion was half of everyone else around me. The cashier also, had children whom she was yelling at and beating on the table with chop sticks. This resturant needs to improve in how they treat their customers. Friendlyness is very low on the menu.

Being in Southern Maryland, I wasnt sure how good the Chinese food would be, but I am quite pleased with Teariffic. It is my standby for chinese takeout. I favor the sesame chicken meal and havent been disappointed yet. The portions are huge... definitely enough for dinner and the next days lunch. The people that work there are exceptionally nice and very helpful. I highly recommend this place.... its not NYC China town, but its great for Southern Maryland.

Never disappointed when I come here. The food and drinks are made with love, and u can tell when they serve their food, that they take pride in what they make. I told my husband this place had best Chinese food, he was skeptical, but after eating there was no retort. i changed my husbands mind about the best Chinese food place in town. You guys rock! Keep up the good work!

This place is a hidden gem! We tried multiple things from the menu and it was all great. I had the Korean BBQ and would definitely recommend. The two soup dishes my friends had were delis good as well. We were also able to true the milk teas and some of the different dim sum options they had. BBQ pork buns were really good. I would definitely recommend this place!
