Mignion Faretta

Dont get me wrong, this place has amazing qualities as well as those a bit lacking in my opinion. The location is great for locals to walk to and from for eats and drinks but if you are driving in you may have a hard time finding close parking. The interior was a good balance of hip modern meets traditional Japanese. Both the cocktail and food menus have a lot to offer and choose from. I did come to Katana on a Ramen mission but sadly I was less than thrilled about my dish. I ordered the spicy ramen with chicken and brisket. The portion was generous however the pork broth was very bland and generic in flavor. As well the chicken was unseasoned having nothing to add or enhance. I did very much enjoy the beef brisket. Im positive I wont order the ramen again. The second dish I ordered was the hibachi chicken and it more than made up for the disappointing first course. The garlicky sauce was super tasty and the char on the chicken was perfect as well were the tender vegetables. For appetizers I tried the spring rolls which came with two per order. They arrived perfectly golden brown and crisp on the outside.... but quickly I realized once biting into one that they were not freshly made but more likely commercially made and frozen, as the vegetables inside were total mush and soggy. Having to try the sushi before leaving I ordered some pieces of my goto have to try everywhere sushi ( smoked salmon, shrimp, and eel sushi) The eel was wonderful plump juicy and covered in an unexpectedly unique eel sauce. I absolutely recommend the eel. The shrimp was good and the smoked salmon had a very good flavor only the texture was a bit on the mushy side. Finally I ordered one of the specialty rolls, the dancing eel ( 5 large pieces of smoked salmon, eel, cream cheese, scallions with rice spicy mayo and eel sauce) the flavor components went well together and the presentation was eye catching. I washed it all down with a hot sake.

The sushi here is fantastic. It is my new favorite place to go for quality sushi and ramen bowls. I definitely recommend the squid appetizer, it is so tender. The service is above average, attentive and very friendly. Presentation is incredible and artful. Havent had any cocktails yet, but they look great. They have awesome specials daily. Also, very important, their Wasabi is actually spicy here! So many places serve bland Wasabi that doesnt really add much spice. This place is all about spicy, which is big in my book. I love extra spiciness when it comes to sushi.

Honestly, I wont write it was the best sushi Ive had but considering the price difference between this sushi restaurant and many others in the immediate area I CANT COMPLAIN. The service was on point, quick, and polite. All 8 rolls we ordered were VERY GOOD. The establishment was clean and the napkins are custom. I will return and recommend a visit to friends.

Its a good place but it leaves something to be desired. Maybe Baltimore just isnt a big sushi place. They have a delicious spicy pork ramen but their salmon was very cold and very obviously frozen. I know most places out on the east coast have to freeze their fish but it can be let to thaw a little more.

My gf and I were dissapointed and suprised by both the service and the food. Our suishi was warm and fell apart easily. In terms of the service our waitress was slow and unavailable even though there were only a couple of customers there. I wouldnt recommend spending your money there.

Katana is my goto sushi spot in Canton. They have some really creative rolls though it will cost you. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is also nice. Getting the special rolls can get pricy but thats par for the course so Im not complaining at all.

Katana has regularly been one of the best sushi and Japanese restaurants in the area. They put extra effort to present even their most basic dishes, and they always have extremely fresh ingredients. I have come here probably 50 times, and Im never disappointed.

Hourglass Heart

At 1:50PM getting food in a near deserted restaurant is highly enjoyable. Id love for more people to go here though. The spicy ramen and the eel roll was as delicious as it would be in Japan.

The staff is nice and the location is great. However, the sushi is just ok. The specialty tolls arent too bad, but the ramen is sub-par, dont get that.
