I wish I could give this place 5 stars - the food is MOST EXCELLENT! Really, the food is amazing! I had the wild blueberry pancakes - they were perfect... We visited this place twice - had I reviewed this place after our first visit, it would be 5 stars all the way. On our first visit, we were promptly greeted by a lovely young lady. The food was amazing & the service was impeccable (a woman with very long hair served us - we thought she was the owner, as she was doting on us like royalty). We loved it so much that we decided to go a second time on our last day in the area - even though the prices are a bit steep, we were just floored by the food & the service. Our second visit was a Friday morning - the last Friday in Aug - the area was still pretty busy as a whole, but most vacations were winding down & school was starting again for a lot of people. It was evident, as it was not very busy. We were the ONLY ONES in line & there were several open tables. We were "un-greeted" by a tall, young man with a heavy accent - he was not happy, didnt even look us in the eye. He had been arguing with someone inside & appeared to be quite angry. I say we were ungreeted because he never said a word to us - he looked at the wait list (there were plenty of open seats), almost didnt say a word to us... I said: Good morning - 3, outside please? He looked at me with disgust & said something to the effect of: "Hold on..." Well, he never came back to seat us - he came back with a phone in his hand, arguing & yelling into the phone... but never came back to seat us. We left... he was rude & his behavior was downright disgusting. To the owners: he does not deserve a job that requires the utmost professional demeanor. Please, I beg of you - fire him - if he continues to be the "host", you will lose business...I promise. Sadly, I was very disappointed - the food is really amazing, but we are paying customers & this place would not be standing if people wont patron this place. Its important to note that our first visit almost did not happen, as the reviews about the bad service were really hard to ignore. We were delightfully surprised & really wanted to go back...unfortunately, it seems as thought the original reviews still stand...

Breakfast this morning was a disaster. We were seated and waited for an eternity to be greeted by our waitress. Another waitress finally asked us if we had been greeted and then had to go find ours. Even after that it took forever for her to come take our drink order. Finally got our order in and I told her I had a food allergy. I ordered the eggs Benedict, my husband got the two egg breakfast with bacon and we were going to split a blueberry pancake because weve been sampling them at restaurant during our honeymoon. While we waited for our food, my husband sat and watched the hostess continually try to seat people at a table that was soaking wet because of the rain. He remarked that the hostess seemed to get irritated. Our food came, and our waitress said that the eggs Benedict had my allergen present in the hollandaise sauce, so she had them just leave that out. She made that decision rather than checking with me if Id still want it. The hollandaise sauce is what makes a Benedict. What was given to me was incredibly dry and was quite disgusting. She had also not brought the pancake we had requested. When she checked on us, I told her I was unhappy with my order, so if she could just bring the pancake, I would eat that instead. She seemed surprised about the pancake. She also said I wouldnt be charged. She put the order in and after waiting a long time, I received my pancake. She brought it to me without syrup and I had to prompt her for the syrup. The pancake was soggy in the middle, but I gave up on the thought of having a good breakfast and I was so hungry that I just ate it. When she brought the check, she looked at it and reiterated that she took "it" off, but when I looked at the bill - the eggs Benedict was still on it, it was the pancake that was removed. I was happy to pay for the pancake as I ate that, I was not happy to pay for a disgusting $15 Benedict that had no hollandaise. I asked the waitress about it and she seemed really confused, but changed the check. Im not one to normally complain about food or send food back so you know this was bad for me to complain to the waitress and write a bad review. This establishment needs to get rid of this waitress as she has no common sense and provided awful customer service.

What a disappointment. Went in for a late breakfast / early lunch on a Tuesday. We were told a 30 minute wait. We had time, and dont mind waiting for a quality meal, so were good with the wait. The 30 minutes was well over an hour and we didnt get a table until about 15 minutes before they were to close. After all the high scoring reviews we told ourselves "it will be worth the wait, right?" We were seated upstairs next to a bathroom with a very sticky door (sounded like someone was trying to escape every time they left the bathroom). Our table was rickety at best and twice came off the two pieces of plastic that were an attempt to hold it level. Its in an old house, so even all that can be overlooked and perhaps considered charm or something. We told ourselves "the food will make the rest forgettable, right?" We ordered and waited at least another 30 minutes for the food to come, which is also reasonable in and of itself. Unfortunately when it did show up it was all just barely lukewarm. We might have been able to ask for a quick re-heat but by the time the waitress came back the damage was long done. We were all too hungry to wait and I was already halfway through my mediocre blueberry pancakes. My bottomless coffee was only refilled once the entire meal. They were also out of butter. This is a breakfast place! What the heck? Not like they whip it themselves or anything, its just your standard butter in a plastic square kind of thing. We mentioned our less-than-satisfying experience to our server and while she apologized twice she made no gesture towards making things right. A simple offer to get the manager would have sufficed, a dessert, a coffee to go, anything so that we didnt leave with a bad taste in our mouths...but alas, it was not meant to be. As such the taste in my mouth is so bad Im compelled to write this review. We wont be back. Dont believe the hype.

We went there on Sunday morning, wed heard good things and wanted to try it. They open at 7AM, we arrived at 6:45 after seeing the sunrise on Cadillac and sat in our car waiting for them to open. At 6:55AM a couple went inside, and almost a minute later another couple. We figured they were open (most breakfast spots are ready to go a few minutes early), so we went inside too. We all stood inside the little entry way waiting. ALL the staff either completely ignored the six of us or muttered snide remarks about being in the way when they went by us. No one made eye contact with us. Then more people trickled in, it quickly got very cramped in the entry way. We all waited politely to be seated. At almost 7:10AM a manager (I assume) whos walked by us many times within the last 15 minutes, tells everyone they need to leave and stand outside in the cold and line back up so we can be seated. Seriously?! For a busy, popular breakfast spot they should have their act together. They know when they need to be ready, they know they will be busy and have people waiting. They should know better than to allow people inside if theyre not ready to seat people (all they had to do was politely ask the first of us to wait outside until opening time). They let the first of us in and then completely ignored us and let the crowd get out of hand -- and then to kick everyone out and have us line back up? It was ridiculous and an awful first impression. When they told us we needed to leave and come back in we were done. We went down the street to Jordans instead - their food was good (nothing to write home about though) but the service was exemplary and Im sure we got our hot coffee and food way before 2 Cats got their act together that morning (if they ever got their act together, that is).
