On a recent trip to Bar Harbor we were having a real hard time finding a place that would accommodate a family of 6 within a single suite. Most places requested that we take two rooms. We wanted to stay in a single suite and be within walking distance of downtown Bar Harbor. The Quimby House was the only place that we found that would make such arrangements. We found the Quimby House to be the perfect fit for us. The owners were very personable made us feel right at home. The kids loved the family dog and cat that were in the area as well. The suite was immaculate and very nicely furnished and maintained. It felt like we were staying in a four star hotel with the exception of a very reasonable bill at the end of our stay. If you are looking for a great place within walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor, you really should look into the Quimby House, even if you have a larger family.

We stayed here a couple of nights and love this inn. It has New England charm, and is within walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants and entertainment such as the Improv, but stores, restaurants and a supermarket are just across the street. Our room was ground level facing the street but the traffic and noise were minimal. We had a mini-suite with a bed and cable tv in each room, and a mini fridge. Loved the rich colors of bedding and towels. Plenty of water pressure and hot water, updated bathroom, clean rooms. Free parking. Very welcoming and helpful staff!! Thanks Nick and Tim. Excellent value - what a lucky find!

We stayed in Quimby house inn for 3 nights at early May. It is off season and most inns are still closed. We are very happy to find quimby is open and family friendly. We booked room 105 with a king bed and very spacious. There is a small playground in the backyard and my son enjoyed a lot. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They even boiled 4 eggs for my son in their own kitchen. Also, breakfast, supermarket and loundry are just cross the street. My only complain is the internet in our room. Signal is very low. So, we have to use is in the lobby. Highly recommended, especially for family.

What a great location and an excellent value! The staff and owners (Tim and Danielle), we very friendly and welcoming. This is a great place for families as we could walk just about everywhere, our room 313 was good sized, and the small play area in the back provided just enough entertainment between outings for our 4 and 6 yr olds. The Inn is older so it is dated, however it is well kept and very charming. A great option for staying in the Village. We will be back.

Nice spot in town - a little out of the bustle, but not too far. 4th of July parade goes right down Cottage Street, so that was really nice. The owner seems a bit grumpy, but the staff was very friendly and helped us out with questions and making us feel at home. Room 207, while facing Cottage Street, was not really a problem with noise unless you are a very light sleeper.

This quaint little inn is situated right in the middle of commercial bar harbor. There is a neat little smoothie place right next door, and a Hannaford grocery across the street. Lack od breakfast at the inn was disappointing, but there are plenty of places within walking distance. The only real downside to this inn is the touristy feel to the neighborhood.

We had a great experience at Quimby house. Walking distance to downtown and parking were definite perks. Also really enjoyed the massage chair after a long day of walking. Super helpful staff and owner Tim was more than willing to act as our concierge for our trip to Mount Desert Island. Thanks Tim!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Quimby House and it was a wonderful experience! Very relaxing and peaceful and Tim and Dani took great care of us. The Inn was very clean, neat and well run. The massage that they offer as well is awesome! We would definitely go back!

Its a cute little house in a quaint little town. Theres great food around and a little organic store next door. The room is a little small but the bathroom is large. The TV was very out of date when I visited. The bed was comfortable and it was a good stay.

We stayed in early May before the rush of tourists. The location is great, off-street parking was available, and the off-season rate was unbeatable. The owners are extremely friendly to boot!

Good location. The lobby smells funny, but the room was clean. The electric outlets were sparse and plugs fit a little loosely, but otherwise no complaints; a reasonable value for the price

Excellent rooms: They very clean and well furnished. Free wi-fi + cable are also great. Finally, the inn is in downtown Bar Harbor, which is a big plus. I would certainly recommend it.

Had two wonderful nights here. We stayed in Rm 313, which was a comfortable king bed mini-suite. Good value for the money - although no breakfast. Highly recommended.

Stayed in the off season (january), was charged full b&b price for an "annex" room, no breakfast, broken coffee maker, no hot water. Unfriendly staff. Will not go back.

Great location and ok for a few days. Could use some updating and the beds are very uncomfortable. Especially the pull out coach which has springs popping through.

Nice place. I would stay there again. My only gripe is not enough counter space in the bathroom, only a small 10 inch by 1.5 foot glass thing mounted on the wall.
