Ive only ever had drinks at Ipanema, and only during times when a band was playing. Keep that in mind when you read the rest of what I have to say. This is easily the smallest, most claustrophobic bar I have ever been in. If you get there late, not only will you be unable to find a seat - you wont even be able to get to the bar (let alone the bathroom). Its basically a train car - thats how narrow the place is. The staff are friendly, but the service is (understandably) kind of slow. You will be pressed shoulder-to-shoulder with very little room to move. Its fine if youre in the mood to arrive early, squat a table with some friends, and drink a few pitchers while the band plays - but dont expect to be very comfortable.

Driving around downtown we noticed happy looking people sitting at their sidewalk cafe. We were in a hurry and ate inside. Food was delicious and unique, we had salad and taco. Our friendly, efficient server told us the place was totally renovated -- everything was spotless and charming. We are from NYC and wanted something other than a chain restaurant.

The staff was extremely friendly, the atmosphere was colourful and clean, the menu was UNIQUE, you cant find that anywhere else around Bangor. Extremely flavourful and I asked for spicy and thats just what I got! Did i mention unique? Love it!!!!

Fair drink prices and comfortable. Is usually full of twenty somethings. Is usually a bit loud complete with booming music. Gets crowded on the weekends as people collect in the downtown.
