I have to say that the last two times I went to the Leawood location, service was a bit of a disappointment. My last experience compels me to write this review. I ordered for takeout. It was a bit late. But, the catalyst for my bad experience was the service behind the bar. I was directed to the bar to pickup my takeout. I waited while about 5 individuals looked at me from the end of the bar, yet did not ask if I had been helped. I stood there while two workers flirted and another guest came to the bar with his takeout order. No one asked me if they could help me. I went back to the only redeeming quality of the place, the hostess. I asked if she could help so I could gain some attention. I went back to the bar and waited a little more. I made a kind and calm complaint to the person that brought my order. While she apologized for the wait, it seemed defensive and rushed. I thanked her and went home. I came home to under-cooked burgers that were unfortunately cold. I guess a risk with all takeout. And, I thought I was going to have to go back for a missed item. Instead, the order for that item was never placed. I do hope they read this and see this as an opportunity to improve. In my opinion, start with the staff. Before food is tasted, it comes down to the people it takes to deliver it and their interactions with guests. The attention and respect that guests crave can outweigh missteps in the food.

As someone who works in the service industry I can say that the service was awful. I think the manager came and asked us how we were doing more than our waitress did. I cant believe that she had that many tables that she could not get us drinks when ours were empty. They must push a get them in and out as quickly as possible to the servers because thats how it felt. I felt more of a nuisance being there then anything else. The burgers were good but not worth the price they charge. I believe that if youre going to pay $10-15 for a burger you should have fries included. There was more bun than burger on my sandwich, quite a disappointment. They also overcooked my burger, it was supposed to be medium but was defiantly well done, there was no pink at all in it. They should have added more blue cheese also, it seemed like there was barely any at all. The homemade ketchup and mustard was awesome though. I couldnt believe the outrageous prices for the alcohol. I have never in my life gone to a restaurant that charged $16 for a double rum and coke. All in all I have to say I will NOT be going back. Poor service, overpriced drinks, pretentious atmosphere.

Ate at the 435 location on Friday night. Burgers were pretty good, but nothing amazing. 3/5. The fries were better 4/5. Service was less than desirable. 2/5. The atmosphere was very noisy, I grew frustrated trying to hear the conversation at our own table. 3/5. To top it off, an Auto-gratuity of 20% was added (without informing us), and when I did not tip on top of the auto-grat, I came home to find they fraudulently added another 20% on top of that, so now I have to call to get that money refunded. I have read several other reviews talking about servers helping themselves to more of a tip than they were given. As a former server, I am well aware of the daily double routine where you charge a gratuity, without telling the customer, in hopes they will tip you again. In this case, I noticed the gratuity, and purposely didnt tip on top of that, as I didnt think that our server deserved the 20% they forced us to pay. Instead, they just committed credit card fraud. Probably wont be back. Better burgers at many other local places, at a lower price, with a better atmosphere, with better service.

I really want to like this place and if I was rating on taste alone I would give it a 5. However, if you go when it is busy, which is pretty much always there is wait and only a couple of chairs squeezed into a corner by the door to spend your 30 or 40 minutes before you get a table. There are about 10 seats at the bar which seems kind of limited for a place that advertises "bottles". The food, as I said, tastes great. Even the soggy, greasy fries taste good. Every burger I have had has been a wet mess though, with the bun disintegrating before I even pick it up. Worst of all is the noise level. The place is all hard surfaces and one big open room, you cant have a conversation at all and have to shout at your waitress. Service was good, but the overall experience was not. There are other places in town where you can get a great burger and hear yourself think for less than this place costs.

My husband and I have put this place as among our favorites. HOWEVER- last, Nov went there and were GREATLY DISAPPOINTED. My husband ordered the stuffed burger with Blue Cheese, asked for a medium burger, the inside was raw! So waitress apologized and took it back. She came out shortly with another one but it was raw inside too! At that point we were disgusted at the way they responded to us, since often in other places, managers come out and apologize and offer something to express that, but he never came to us through this entire ordeal. Least thing the waitress could have done was before placing the second burger at my husbands plate was check the meat herself but she didnt. My salmon salad was luscious, but we were greatly disappointed at the experience. Would give it another try but it is no longer at top of our list.

Ate here last night. The burgers were outstanding. Soooo much better than that new brgr place in Prairie Villiage. My friends had the bison burger and they said it was outstanding. I had the turkey burger and they made provisions for serving it gluten free. Aside from being delicious, the burgers are huge! The sweet potato fries were hot and served with the burgers so we could share. One order was enough for the 3 of us. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. We did not have to wait very long for the for the food and when it arrived it was steaming hot. The wait staff came by numerous times to check and see if we needed anything. The manager even came by to check and see if things were good. It was a great place to take your friends or family for a Friday night burger. I highly recommend it.

The burgers here are some of the best in the area! The milkshakes are amazing and taste so freshly made without artificial flavoring. BUT the service at this location can be improved! Ernesto the manager is amazing hands down! But most of the servers besides a couple need help on customer service. 75% of the time we go there we always have something wrong come up and Ive worked In jobs where customer service is key. And I know how it feels to have customers that ask too much or are really picky. So I always try to be empathetic to other people that deal with customer service. If the service was improved then we would be tempted to go there and spend the extra money more often than usual.
