Living in Madrid, options are few and far between. The meat here is on point, but if you get a "Family Pack", expect your biscuits to be cold. Like, just pulled out of the fridge cold. It isnt a fluke, its how they serve them. God forbid you are taking this stuff anywhere but home to eat (where you can heat the biscuits). Knowing that they do not like to give you enough BBQ sauce, I always ask for a lot. I got a couple extra containers this last time, but most were only filled 1/4 of the way. Seriously, I got about 6 tablespoons of sauce for 2lbs of smoked meat. Yesterday I went in and the lady in front of me ordered 2lbs of pulled pork, and was told that they didnt even have a pound. Instead of making things right and giving the lady whatever they had left, and 2lbs of a different meat, they wouldnt budge on the 2lb order. Lame. I dont know if they are still serving breakfast, but when we went there the only option for eggs was scrambled (made to order...) and everything was mediocre. I asked for fried eggs and was met with the response "Have you ever tried to make fried eggs on a commercial stovetop?" We went twice and decided a 3rd time isnt worth our time or money. The mac and cheese is pretty flavorless and the noodles are so soft (because its prepared like school food, 1 giant batch made once a day) that you cannot tell the difference in texture between them and the watered down cheese. I kinda like the pasta salad, but it could use a couple tweaks. The poppers are pretty good, the meat is pretty good, but nothing here is really special. At this point I have had everything on the menu (like I said, not many choices for food in Madrid) and think this place is just good enough to stay in business serving everyone on the Trestle trail. Trust this review. Im a fat guy.

Visited for the first time for breakfast Sunday morning 7/20/2014. Arrived at 5 minutes to the 10am opening time to try the breakfast. Tried the front door and it was open. Immediately upon opening the door, we were "greeted" by an OBNOXIOUS guy who yelled "WERE NOT OPEN YET" in an extremely rude tone. At that moment, he LOST MY BUSINESS FOR GOOD. If youre not open yet, keep the door locked until you are. Or, since it was literally less than 5 minutes before your posted opening time, you could opt to invite patrons in and tell them youre not quite ready yet and it will be a few minutes. Dont know if we walked in on a fight amongst the owners/workers or what, but this was COMPLETELY UNCALLED FOR. I dont normally post reviews but this guy really irritated me with his attitude. Could be the best place in town (oh sorry, the ONLY place in town other than Caseys?) but I certainly wont give it a second chance.

When trying something new, if our experience is not the greatest we will give it another chance. Yet the 2x we have visited this establishment our results have equaled the same. The coleslaw was sour and Im pretty sure it was out dated or close to it. The staff was rude seemed annoyed that we were even in there. The young man taking our order seemed less than thrilled about talking to us. The meat was tepid at best, and the egg roll/poppers were cold in the middle. Maybe the lunch hour produces a better environment, but the dinner hour makes me never want to come back.

Excellent---we werent expecting much since Madrid doesnt have a ton of great options but a friend of our recommend we give it a try. Were glad that we did. The pulled pork was outstanding! The kids grilled cheese was a bit too. I loved the poppers and am looking forward to trying the other flavors soon!

Walked in and there was nobody in there. A guy comes out and tells me he is working on an order...which whatever...but then tells me itll be 30 minutes before he can take my order...no other staff in there...not a really well run establishment.

Great BBQ only blocks from the High Trestle Trail. Pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches were very good. The cost per person includes an appetizer and a beer.

Easier than cooking it myself. If youre going to employ kids, make sure they care about your business.
