Loved Hunan and went there for years. We tried the China House 4 times. Wonton soup was tasteless . Wontons hard. Broth had no flavor but salt. Tasted stale. Their food was tasteless. Picked up chicken fried rice take out. Hunted for little shreds of chicken & it was dry like they were skimping on all ingredients and using old cooked dried up rice. About the only thing in the dish was the dry tasteless rice.Everything dish we have had was bland and no flavor. Overpriced for the quality of food. So disappointed.

This was one of the worst meals I have ever had. After 30 dollars spent we tossed more than half of it out. My husband ordered beef and broccoli. The beef was chewy and bland. I ordered the beef chow mein. The noodles came in a small bag that were the equivalent of crispy salad toppings. There were only a couple pieces of beef, which had no taste, and the rest was onions and a soupy concoction. The only editable part of this meal was the white rice.

When this restaurant was built many years ago someone put much care in the details. Now it is aged but still a reminder of the adventure that eating Chinese once was. All items are Americanized but tasty. Pork potstickers were classic, broccoli and chicken fresh. The old style of using cornstarch on chicken does change the texture. Mushu pork good. Portions generous.

My friends highly recommended this restaurant to me so I tried it yesterday. I left my stomach and heart at China House! The crab meat wonton and Kungpao Chicken were soooo good! My boyfriend tried Mongolian beef and he loved it! Best Chinese restaurant in Iowa! This will be a frequent lunch stop for me not only for their tastes but also the prices and good service

Tried this new restaurant last week. We ate at the Hunan before and although the food isnt the same, the menu is larger and has more traditional chinese food. We tried some dishes on the chinese menu as well as the regular menu. Everything was great and the staff was very friendly.

I ate at China House for the first, and probably last time tonight. The egg drop soup was watery and flavorless. The shrimp with lobster sauce had very few shrimp and the lobster sauce was extremely watery with little flavor. All in all a bad experience.

I have to give this place some love. I havent had a bad experience yet. The recipe for the crab Rangoon was a bit too sweet for me but my wife loved them. The Szechuan beef is my order tonight, looks delicious.
