Atmosphere and everything else aside, the flavor and portion size of the food cannot be complained about in any capacity. The price is steep if buying 2 dishes, but sharing one dish is possible due to the size of the platter. Now onto everything else, the atmosphere is pretty terrible. It the windows look like 1,000 dirty children stuck their fingers everywhere they could. It has one of those bathrooms, where youre not sure if using the sink will make your hands cleaner or dirtier. The reviews about the flies are true, and I would suggest bringing a partner to shew them away from your face and you do the same for them. Wouldnt bring any small children, as they might see 2 flies romping on the table next to yours......that aside.....the food was pretty good. Pictured is the sesame chicken, $10.55

This is the perfect place for a student. You get tons of food for a couple of bucks. The most you will end up paying for a meal, including a drink, would be no more than $7. Their portions are gigantic! The CS is very poor though but then again it doesnt promise to be the perfect restaurant. You get your monies worth, no matter what. The quality of food is by far the best thing about this restaurant. The ingredients are fresh and of good quality. The food tastes amazing. TOC is a lot better than the other Chinese restaurants in IC.

If you enjoy food poisoning and intestinal distress, by all means eat here! They gave me uncooked chicken in my chicken and broccoli. how hard can it be to cook thin strips of chicken? I know others who have been sickened by eating here. dirtiest kitchen ive seen. My bad for giving them a second chance. never again

My family member from NY swears by the food here, saying it is like NY Chinese. This is one of those hole in the wall places that end up being a treasure. The portions are huge and seem to never end. I can eat a lot and their large portions end up being 2-3 meals. Id recommend chicken lo mein and egg rolls!!

They have great food. Great Price. Huge Portions. Fast Service. My favorite Chinese restaurant in Iowa City... and Ive tried most in the area. Only downfall is that they dont deliver.

Huge portions, cheap prices. Food quality has gone way down. Very filthy. Nasty staff. The other two Taste of Chinas are far,far superior, friendly & accommodating staff.
