The place doesnt look like much on the outside which, Im sure, has made it hard for every tenant trying to get a business started. Ive grown up around this building, watching it pass from one company to the next. Fortunately Los Rancheros has been able to stick it out. Despite the exterior, their is real quality on the inside. The prices are low, the food is great and the people are very attentive. They fill your glass before it gets to be half empty. It has become my absolute favorite restaurant. I eat there at least once a week, and I live on the far south west side of town! Recommendations: Pollo Chorizo or Nachos Mexicanos. They also have the best queso so get a cup of that when you go as well.

Okay, they had Horchata, thats important for "Authentic." I had the pollo con mole. It was okay, but boring. Boring rice, boring beans with "authentic" cheese. The chicken breast was halved and I guess i should be lucky I wasnt starving as it was enough. Mole tasted okay. Deserts sucked. Fried ice cream here is rolled in cereal and covered in whipped cream and choc. sauce. Flan was ruined by being served with whipped cream and drizzled with choc. sauce. Save your money and try the Carneceria just south on Shadeland. Best tacos in the states!

Ive been hitting up Los Rancheros in Lawrence for over 10 years. Overall, this is the best and most consistent Mexican restaurant in Indy hands down. Other establishments may have fancier fare, but I would gladly put money on Los Rancheros for speed, price, consistency, and experience. Stop by with a couple of friends, get yourself a 32oz Dos Equis Amber for $4.25, and marvel at how quickly the boys bring out your piping hot order.

I ordered the chicken nachos one weekend, really had a craving for good Mexican on a busy errand day. This was my closest option and my first visit. Ordered as carryout. Worst mistake ever! When I got home and opened them, they looked beyond unappetizing.The cheese they used was really watery, and the chicken was a mix between being stringy and chunky. Needless to say, I wont be going back. Ever.

I went to Los Rancheros last night for the first time. And I was so disappointed, the guacamole taste like it was straight out of a bag. The queso sauce was store bought. And my food was terrible. The atmosphere was dated and when you see the cooks hanging out in the dinning room area you know there is a problem. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

i just left from their...i tried the complimentary nachoes and salsa....horrible chips n salsa...the worst part was i was seated near the kitchen and the waiter brought out a arm full of food and i watched him sneeze all over the food and serve it...i now feel bad that i didnt say anything...i just left...i hope i wasnt on the primetime show what would you do?

Hands down the best Mexican cuisine in Indianapolis. Excellent tamales, fajitas, tacos, and pretty much anything else Mexican you can think of. Their ceso Blanco with tortilla chips is to freaking die for. If you want good Mexican food reasonably priced in a festive traditional Mexican atmosphere this is the place tobgo.

The best Mexican food I have ever had. Seriously, the food is amazing, the staff is extremely attentive, and the prices are right. My suggestion- order the Nachos Mexicanos. Beef, chicken, and shrimp on top of tortilla chips drowned in delicious white cheese.

Boring, cheap, non-authentic American crap food. If you want cheap, fast, and so so Mexican for lunch, this is your place. Other than that, there are so many better places in Lawrence to get good tacos and burritos that are actually authentic Mexican cuisine.
