I make sure to visit at least three times a month. When it comes to delicious, hearty breakfasts no one can beat these guys! I had the breakfast special this morning (served until 11am) of Chicken fried steak and eggs with country gravy, hash browns and toast. The chicken fried steak was done to perfection! Their country gravy is superb! Hash browns, though lacking a bit of crunchy texture I like so much were a little soft but still very tasty. And the two eggs (over easy), done just like mom used to make and for a little surprise i actually got four! It was as if cook had read my mind and knew that those extra eggs were NOT going to be wasted! Toast was perfect as toast gets. Service was and is always great here. The women that serve us cater to our whims and I found my cup of iced tea never ran dry! (A definite plus when it comes to tipping$) Super friendly staff and an attentiveness to you are huge reasons on why I keep coming back year after year. They are and get busy! Especially on Sunday! Oh and they have a Friday all you can eat fried perch fish fry! Fantastic! Aces across the board!

first time coming here, never coming back. My mom told me she had a terrible experience with racist waitresses back in the day (before I was even born). My cousin convinced me to try it and I was very excited. We walked in to the place and no one acknowledged us for the whole 10 minutes we were there. The sign said "Please wait to be seated" so we stood there and waited. Waited and waited and waited, had several waitresses pass by and not tell us anything at all. I made eye contact with one of the waitress and she completely ignored me and looked another direction. There were two waitresses in the back, talking and just standing there and neither one of them bothered to come up to us. Never coming back..

Great place! It has a great family atmosphere and the service is always great! Its been a family owned business for awhile and Ive been a regular for some time, the family has really made this one of the best places in elgin to eat! And "Mag", Im just being honest here but you sound really unintelligent and rude for that comment. Sounds to me like youre the problem, not the restaurant..

Our waitress was terrible, she complained because we asked her to order us another milkshake. She wouldnt respond to our thank yous & overall we felt uncomfortable. She would greet other tables & speak nicely to them, the only time she said anything that wasnt rude was when she handed the check. Im Hispanic & I felt that might have to do with it. Food wasnt good either, never coming back

Baker Hill is great! Its always clean, fast, and delicious; the staff are great and attentive. The kitchen always throws you some extra eggs and their soups are amazing. Weve been going there for several years now and we prefer it to other semi-local homestyle places for its consistency, its variety, and its GOOD COFFEE. Also the prices cant be beat.

I have been eating at what was Georges and now Baker Hill Pancake house for around 22 years. It is a family owned restaurant and the owners along with their staff have always been friendly. I love the food, but they are no longer open for dinner and I miss some of the dinner items. Good food, nice people, good prices, what more can you ask for.

This place has lightning quick service (and friendly too!). The first time we went, the waitress kept apologizing for the delay, but the service seemed average. Ive been back a few times since and found out why! Try the cinnamon apple pancakes - They make the cinnamon apples fresh!

Easily one of the best breakfast diners in the Elgin area. The waiters are very nice people. I recommend the Gyro Skillet if youre looking to max out. Entrees usually come with a choice of hashbrowns or pancakes with fruit or toast.

I lived in Chicago for 8 years I tried Baker Hill Pancake House it was so good the atmosphere was great. The service was superb. I would say come one come all tiny and tall and eat it all at Bakers Pancake House.
