After about two years of being faithful customers, the experience we had last week convinced us not to go back. We were seated at a table, where the waitress took our drink order after we were sitting about 5 minutes. We looked over the menu and decided what we wanted (5 minutes or so). We looked around for our waitress and she was chatting and laughing with a party in one of the corner booths, completely ignoring us. We tried to get her attention but to no avail. After 15 minutes went by we got up to leave. She ran over, telling us that she was about to come over to "take our order." We left anyway, vowing never to return. Other things we have noticed over the past year or so. They handle money, then sit down and start folding silverware into paper napkins when they are not busy. The hostess is always waiting on customers, taking money, making change and then sitting down again to resume folding silverware into paper napkins. They should be instructed to wash their hands first before touching silverware and napkins that customers will have in their mouths! Also, could the cooks please serve some other vegetable besides that watery veggie mixture they serve with every meal? It is disgusting and not even edible. When they first opened they had a variety of veggies, some days it would be corn, other days green beans and so on. Now its that inedible mixture of soggy, limp carrots, cauliflower and heaven only knows what else! The quality of the food has also suffered; I had a broiled chicken off the senior menu that looked more like a small bird, covered in a gross yellow gravy. Im sad that they have obviously let the quality of the food deteriorate as well as the service. The owner is there at times and has never visited the tables or talked with customers that I have ever seen. We used to love the place, but no more. Its gone downhill in my opinion.

First, what I did like: 1. It has a great atmosphere, great servers, great memorabilia. See photos. That is about it. Why I have it 2 stars: First, the food was terrible. There was 4 if us there at the time having a variety of foods. We started out with a combo appetizer. The hot wings were cooked well but cold in the middle. The other items common to a appetizer plate were okay though. Two of us had Mexican dishes, then there was a dish of beef liver, and a dish of meatloaf. I had a hard taco meal that came with 3 Tacos, by the time I got my dish the Tacos were so soggy that I couldnt eat them like a hard taco. Plus there was little flavour, which was the general consensus of the guests I was with. One last thing, the portions were huge! That might be great for some, but for me its a waste. Also for me, I feel I should eat it all, and feel guilty if I dont. Some food might be great for take home and rewarm, not Tacos, or anything that has lettuce. They just dont do well in a microwave. Non of use left satisfied, and wont go back again...

You cant go wrong with breakfast here. But their lunch and more dinner is terrible after several meals here we come away with a rating. Rate - 8+ Breakfast eggs, cornbeef hash Rate - 3 - Lunch cheese burger (well done hamberger after ording medium rare, dry and cold meat, french fries cold.) Rate -4- been here several times for dinner and not coming back. Meatloaf was very dry and the whole plate was served cold with the gravy dried because it looked and tasted like it was cooked hours ago and just already hard on the plate. The stuffing was cold like it was just removed from the refregrator. The meatloaf was dry, cold and tasted terrible. The baked potato was also cold. We our done coming here. We should have listen to our friends that warned us about how terrible the food was mostly at dinner time. Lastly, such a difference when the owners are not there.

Ordered for carry out. Fries were very soggy but also had a burnt taste at the same time. Also ordered cheese fries, which all the cheese was in the center making those even soggier than the regular fries but on the upside the cheese overpowered the burnt taste. Didnt get our soup because they ran out right before we got there to pick up the food. So basically 25ish dollars for 2 OK tasting philly cheese steak sandwiches soggy fries which we didnt eat and some OK but very very soggy cheese fries. Not saying we wouldnt go back to try the breakfast but not impressed tonight with our dinner for the price we paid.

Never was there before and asked the waitress what was good on the menu. I was told they got awards for their burgers. Let me tell ya it was THE WORST burger I have ever eaten. Next time I will ask what the award was for it was awful. My partner had the potato soup and it had no flavor what so ever. I dont think well ever be back there again. I had to give it 1 star because it wont allow you not to put a star but that one star should be a negative. Im telling ya those burgers were just awful!!

The service sucks the food was lukewarm the potatoes were partially cooked the biscuits and gravy were salty part of it was warm part of it was cool the kids that were there were just obnoxious and nobody from management said anything to any of them you couldnt even hear yourself talk to one another you had to talk over the rambunctious teenagers that were on the other side of the restaurant definitely not the best visit Ive had there probably will not go back had to ask for the check.

Love the food when they take the time to make it. Dont rush my order if its gonna come out sloppy and not cooked correctly. If your not a regular in the joint they rush to get you in and out. I do love their soups as they are hand made and yummy. I dont visit as much as I would like because of the service received. Feel more of a burden to them than a customer. Hostess always pleasant though.

Love this place. Food and service is great! Love the ambiance. Great menu with several options for anyone. Salads are huge, great skillets and omelllets, various slices of pie/cake. There are lunch and dinner options, but we always get breakfast with occasional salads. Breakfast is available all day.

I dont think Ive ever had something I didnt like here! Portion size is huge, I always feel like Im bringing food home. For the amount of food you get the prices are really reasonable and you get a cup of soup with basically anything you order!

Absolutely love this place. Sometimes is a lil busy, but always worth the wait. Prices are good, 50s/60s theme is really nostalgic...all in all great place for a true treat for meal...for the whole family. Come hungry; grill is always quick!
