If youre in the mood for some sushi in the Boystown area, this is not the place to have it. There are definitely other options that you should go for. The place is usually fairly empty, which should set some of my alarm bells going. Nonetheless, my wife and I decided to give this place a shot, after all, every place does. The tempura was unlike any tempura I had ever eaten in my life. It was thick, heavy, oily and greasy. The color was all wrong. It looked more like something that had been fried in KFC instead of a Japanese kitchen. Not a great start to the meal. Then our makis came and it was more of the same story. It did not taste authentic at all. The rice tasted bland and the ingredients did not taste fresh at all. Overall, each bite was worse than the previous one. The sauces in the maki also tasted weird and unnatural. The only redeeming aspect was that the wasabi and ginger tasted like it should. So that was used fairly extensively during my meal to mask the taste of the maki. Its not exactly a cheap place as well so for that kind of price, for that quality of food, you would be much happier and satisfied going elsewhere.

Overall, a great atmosphere and the staff seemed friendly! In addition, the food was very, very good. Why the two stars, then? There was a fly in my soy sauce. There was a fly in my friends soy sauce. All from the bottles on the table. If it had been one fly, I would have called it a fluke and an oversight, but finding two fruit flies in two pours of sauce was very disenchanting and quite revolting.

loved it full menu, so the sushi list is pretty general but well made, empty around 3pm -4pm free parking a block away, in 7 feet of snow this place could use some parking closer by but... in Chicago ill give them a pass. listen to what they recommend or you will wait for ever... i got sushi before certain appetizers because i wanted to be cute and what not. great eat though

Sushi was OK, I also had their spicy seafood soup. The soup was really good, Im not such a fan of spicy food but it was perfect on a cold day. The atmosphere and servers were very nice. Ill be back because I live very close but if Im looking to show friends around and take them to a fantastic sushi place, Id probably go somewhere else.

Service is good, sushi is good, ramen is good… Honestly, everything weve had here is good. Not great, but good. So why five stars? Because *everything* is good. I cant think of a thing on their menu that Ive had that Ive disliked. Prices are good for everything weve tried as well. We go here probably too often!

The service was great, but the sushi is no different from the other ma and pa-type Japanese restaurants. Mediocre sushi for the same price as places with better quality sushi IMO! Wasnt bad, but it wasnt great for the prices they are charging.

The food at this restaurant was really good, the service was extremely fast, they brought out all the dished one after the other and there was barely any wait time between dishes, and gave tons of ginger all places never give enough ginger.

This place looks nice, but doesnt have a lot of vegan options. I was disappointed that they had lettering out front that said "vegan" but had only one dedicated vegan option and a couple options that could be made vegan with modifications.

Great broth, great staff, funky atmosphere, great flavors. Would be a perfect five if they stepped up their noodle game. Gimme a fresh house made noodle and this will be amazing not just great.

Incredible, rich food with a wonderful, cozy atmosphere. If you like spicy goodness, you cant beat the spicy miso ramen.
