I should preface this by saying that my fiance and I are from California, and have eaten Japanese food in many states, including Alaska, where Ive had the best, freshest Japanese meals, so we are basing our opinions on this past experience. My fiance and I ate at Wasabi around 4:00 PM on a Wednesday. There was one woman on staff in front, and at least one gentleman on staff, who I assume was the chef. The woman was brisk and wasnt particularly friendly. I ordered the beef udon soup and my fiance ordered chicken teriyaki, which came with a bowl of salad and a bowl of miso soup. The ingredients in all of the items were absolutely superb: high quality and fresh. The salad was made of crisp, fresh romaine with a sweet orange dressing, which I think was made of carrot. The miso soup was of excellent quality with small cubes of soft tofu. As for the main dishes, whereas the ingredients were exemplary, we did not find the overall recipes to be particularly impressive. The udon soup arrived in a large bowl. The udon broth tasted much the same as the miso soup, perhaps with a beef stock added, and contained a couple of large slices of beef, a few smaller slices, a handful of udon noodles, half a hard-boiled egg (which was cold in the center), some lightly cooked spinach leaves, and what seemed to be uncooked bits of romaine: the same lettuce that had made up the salad. I did not feel as though it were worth the $10 charged. The teriyaki on the chicken had a light, fresh flavor, which wasnt at all unpleasant, nor was it particularly memorable. It was served with a bowl of quality sticky rice. The oddest part of this meal was the garnishes. The chicken was served sliced on top of a very large pile of onion slivers, which seemed to be very lightly sautéed. At the top of the plate there were about five pieces of lightly steamed broccoli, cooked so as still to have a bit of a crunch. As with the udon soup, my fiance did not think that the plate was worth the $14 it cost. Furthermore, we found the atmosphere to be very tense. The waitress seemed to be in a poor mood, and perhaps irritated with the male employee (chef?). The chairs were uncomfortable for both of us to sit on: I have chronic sciatica and my fiance has a lower back injury. Perhaps half way through the meal, a Taylor Swift CD began playing at an uncomfortably loud volume. The only other diners, who had come in after us, didnt linger long before leaving. I know that this restaurant has received many good reviews, so it seems to me that they specialize in sushi / sashimi. If you arent in the mood for that in particular, I wouldnt bother with the remainder of the menu.

I went to wasabi twice in one week. We found this restaurant on Monday and I really enjoyed the miso soup and chicken fried rice. So I decide to get it the habichi shrimp for dinner on Friday night, well after get my dinner home. I started eating my fried rice and found a lump of paper and small pieces of paper in my food. I called them to tell me about it and I not like the fact the the man who answered the phone was like oh no that could not happen. And then he was like I can give you a fried rice but replace my meal. Not good I bought the meal not just rice.

I went today with my family. There was exactly one waitress for the entire place. I ordered the Hibachi Shrimp dinner and Chicken Ramen. She brought me Chicken Hibachi and didnt seem to believe she messed up. I said its fine because it had already been long enough and i was hungry. Frankly the service sucked and the waitress was not friendly at all. Probably because she was spread to thin. The Ramen soup was bland and flavorless. The Hibachi was ok but not forbthe price. I wont be returning.

Today was my first AND LAST time at this restaurant. I had questions about the menu and the waiter "fussed" at me for not being ready to order. He tried to correct his tone and approach once he saw the shock and disgust on my face. The damage had already been done. I got up and left. Very rude and VERY DISRESPECTFUL! I want to take back the star, but I need it to write the review.

Small but pleasant restaurant. I enjoyed the avocado salad with ginger dressing. For my meal I chose the Peppered Tuna sushi which was very tasty (I cant recall the exact name). The salad and Sushi were very good. The avocado on the salad was very fresh tasting. Conveniently close to the Drury Inn.

Everything was delicious! The the fish was fresh and the flavors balanced. My three kids immediately found items they wanted (they already love Japanese food, so thats a plus). While the tables were full, we were well taken care of by the efficient server.

The waiter was not friendly and there was two parties at the table , we had 2 coupons and he wanted to give us trouble. If we had sitted at 2 different tables , we could have used our coupons. He told he would let us use our. Coupons this time.

Great miso soup. Amazing udon with beef stock. Could use a little more salt next time. Over all, 5 star for being hot. Wouldve been a five star but they order their noodles.
