There are a lot of places in metro Atlanta that serve Japanese ramen, but there arent too many places that specializes in it. Welcome to Jinya! Where Ramen is what they are known for. Even in its name, "Jinya Ramen Bar", it doesnt quite hit you until you arrive at the place that the interior is laid out like a Japanese noodle house with mostly bar counter top seating. They do offer tables both inside and outside on the patio, but the bar seating really does set the atmosphere and mood of the place. Depending on your perspective you should have a first person view of the kitchen and how your food is being prepared. A neat experience for those uninitiated in the art of the noodle. When it comes to the menu as you guessed it. They serve? RAMEN! You got all sort of choices with the Tonkatsu with all sorts of different ingredients and toppings. There are a few types of broths you can choose from: chicken, pork, fish and even vegetables (nothing vegan though, sorry!). All of them are rich in flavors and spice. Very savory. It feels you up surprisingly well. If youre not into ramen they do server some rice dishes as well and other small dishes. Didnt really spend much time on those so cant speak too much on it. Heard the pork bun is pretty legit though. Also a fine share of Japanese beverages are available as well. I definitely want to try more of the menu to see what it has to offer but so far Im impressed and will definitely be going back for another visit.

First time customer, and my first impression is that the restaurant is not very big inside. If you go there at a busy time (e. 12pm - 2pm), expect to wait 45+ minutes, however, they do offer outdoor seating, if weather permitted. On to the main topic, I ordered Sprouting Up Ramen, and what was special about this ramen was that it had brussel sprouts in it, definitely not your traditional ramen. The ramen came with thick noodles, (There are thin, thick, and extra thick noodles). The pork chashu had the right portion of fat and lean meat, and it was not overcooked so it was soft and almost melt in my mouth. Next, the soup broth was made of mixture of pork and chicken, again not your traditional ramen (broth of tonkotsu ramen is usually based on pork bones, but not mixture of chicken). Although the broth did not taste bad, however, I personally prefer the traditional broth. Overall, the Sprouting Up Ramen was like an adventure. It is creative, and interesting. Though I think brussel sprouts with ramen is not a good combo because brussel sprouts are not something you would usually eat in Asia, and now you mixed it with Asian cuisine so it is kind of weird. On to the ugly side, there were flies inside the restaurant, and the flies got close to my bowl couple times. Otherwise, I would have given a 4 hybrid ramen stars out of 5

Left with a warm, comforted belly and soul . . . I live in the DC area where ramen is alive and well, and travel to Atlanta monthly; was so happy to see a legitimate ramen bar in Sandy Springs. The Jinya buns are very good, with the melty-meat cut by fresh crunchiness and warm springy bun and sauce . . . the broth in the Tonkotsu black was great (I asked for it spicy), pork chashu is pork belly people, and melts in your mouth, and trust me, you want that seasoned egg in your bowl - what a treat!! Tempura brussel sprouts are a dream, but all of that is a lot of food . . . oh man . . . . so good, couldnt even finish it all. The service is on point and the interior of this joint is like being whisked overseas hidden away. Great place.

My best friend and his wife recently treated my wife and I to this glorious restaurant. I had no idea how amazing Ramen could be til that night. Make sure you try the Balls because they are amazing (I forget the actual name, maybe Jinya Balls?), and get there early because space is a premium. They are wonderfully accommodating with their wait and actually have an app that will tell you how much longer you have left to wait. Very creative way to deal with the fact that this place is incredibly popular and a wait is to be expected. The atmosphere is relatively exotic, for lack of a better word, and very friendly. You simply have to try this place out to believe it, and to quote an expert on all ramen, "Believe It!".

I really wanted to like this place. Went there five time. Each time the staff never talks to me directly when Im with my Japanese wife, and family. I tried to go several times for lunch by myself. Same deal waiter doesnt acknowledge me when they first see me. They do since Im by myself eventually take my drink order. The wait takes on a average 15 minutes. Then It takes twice as long to receive my food. Need I mention that these interactions are the only two that I have for my entire meal. No refills of water, no offer of another beer. If you want a real Japanese ramen feel, DONT dine here! I will NEVER go back!

I have been here several times because I kept hearing good things about it even after I tried it and wanted to be certain I had given it a fair shot. The food is decent, they have a nice selection of beers which is great. Honestly though the ramen is OK, it is solid, probably some of the better in Atlanta but nothing exceptional. Also, disclaimer this is going to sound really whiney, but they charge you extra to get the ramen spicy. It just seems really odd to get charged 50 cents more if you request the ramen to be made spicy. All in all it is decent but nothing I would seek out in the future.

The is the best ramen in Atlanta, and you need to try it! Jinya easily earns a five star rating! The ramen is authentic, inspired, and flavorful. The service is attentive and fast. The atmosphere is hip, like you found the new favorite neighborhood spot and youre cool just for being there. The prices are good value, with $13 earning you enough high quality ramen to eat until youre full and have delicious leftovers to take home. The next time a friend visits from out of town, this is where Im going to impress them.

I have tried multiple times to eat at this place but theres a wait every time, but now that I ate here, I now know that the wait will be well worth it. So I followed TJ (server) recommendation and got the black pork ramen and the signature bun, sorry I forgot the actual names of the dishes... anyways both were delicious and I will highly recommend. So why the 4 stars if the food and service is great? Just because it is a very small place and there it is always a wait, other than that this is a 5 ☆ restaurant!

The Food and Service are just amazing (but mainly the food of course). Just anything with pork broth just keeps me coming back for more (Ive been there at least 6-7 times in the last 1-2 months), but thats not to say chicken broth cant be fantastic depending on the dish. A good example is the chicken karage Ramen they have for a limited time right now (Oct-Nov 2016). Always add on a topping or two and you just wont regret it. This place is easily my favorite restaurant in Sandy Springs.
