Im still trying to understand why restaurant is popular. My family and I had an awful experience here. First, we had the most difficult time trying to find a parking spot. After driving around for several minutes, we finally found one past the rear of the building. Then, there was a long line to enter the restaurant. We waited for approximately 15 to 20 minutes before we were able to speak to the hostess. She took my husbands cell phone number, assuring us that we would be seated in approximately 25 to 30 minutes. After exactly an hour and nine minutes of waiting, Id had enough. During that span of time, Id seen several tables open, a family of 5 whod arrived after us was seated and the atmosphere was chaotic. (The only reason we didnt leave, though I was more than tempted to do so, was because we were celebrating my husbands grandmothers birthday. Our party was split into four different parts of the restaurant because they couldnt accommodate all of us in one area. Unfortunately, this wasnt the reason for the delay--most of our party had already been seated before wed arrived). I approached the hostess asking her why we had not yet been seated after she told us that we would only be waiting for 25 to 30 minutes. She asked for my last name. I told her and, miraculously, there was a table available for us. By this time my 3 children, ranging in ages from 3 to 10, had been grumbling about how hungry they were. My son was especially restless. My husband and I both agreed that it was our last time supporting this restaurant! The only positive part of our experience was that our waitress, Tanee, was both patient and considerate with us. BTW, the picture shows the "broccoli" that was prepared for my 3 year old. I have no idea what the heck that is. Needless to say, she didnt eat it!

My wife and I had dinner there tonight, first time ever going. The place was packed someone happened to be pulling out as we came in. awesome. We walked up to the restaurant and loved the instant atmosphere walking up the steps on to the patio and into the building felt like strolling through the french quarter, everyone was everywhere and they all had smiles on there faces, not bad for an hour wait!(of which we lucked out of) We walked in the door and the hostess greeted us with a smile. We opted to try our luck at finding a place at the bar. Just as soon as we walked up a few ladies were on there way out! score again! We sat right down got some drinks, a large Shock Top for me (make that two) and a the wife had a Black ‘n Blue Margarita, which were awesome. Ordered food and before we knew it we where served up two fantastic looking plates of what I can genuinely say was the best seafood I have ever had, better than the hoyty-toytie dock restaurants that littler the coast, or the hole in the wall "seafood" restaurants that are scattered around the Atlanta area. I had the Seafood Platter and my wife had the Costa Rican Mahi Alexander. Fan-freakin-tastic. the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the staff, perfect. The only negative I can think of is on the TV across from me Golf was on... it is one thing to play golf (drive golf cart, drink beer) but it is a whole other thing to seek out and watch that b.s.! Any how! I digress, Anie and I have a new favorite seafood joint, for sure. Thanks Pappadeaux!

Overall the food was good. I usually order the Cajun Chicken Tenderloins from the Pappadeaux in Alpharetta. The chicken tasted just a bit off compared to the other (like it was left under a heat lamp for an extended period of time). Also the red beans and white rice arrive clumped together on the same plate as the tenderloins, versus its own separate dish compared to the one in Alpharetta. Still the food was good, as was the Strawberry and Watermelon lemonades. The atmosphere outside is nice, as they have furniture where your party can sit and talk while waiting for an open table. This is extremely convenient compared to waiting in the car, waiting for their text to arrive and then walking back. The atmosphere inside, isnt as great when you are in small party, as you are usually placed at a 4-person table really close to other parties, which can make it difficult to leave your seat, or hear your party due to the people around you. Especially if you have a loud neighbor it will feel like they are at your table :( On less crowded Monday-Thursday nights though, the noise level isnt as big of a problem. But this isnt a quiet restaurant for talking business plans. One word of advice though, get there at least 40 minutes from when you plan to eat. They are almost always busy it appears, especially on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I went there at 7:10pm, and there was a 40 minute wait for a table. This is usually the case at all Pappadeux establishments though. I would recommend this place.

When my mother first asked if Id take her to Pappadeaux, I was skeptical. It is, after all, a family-friendly chain restaurant. Such restaurants often have poor quality, not-so-great food and the word "chain" garners an unfavorable bias from me. Well, thank you Pappadeaux for proving that some chain restaurants get it right. This place had a fun and lively atmosphere with festive lights on the spacious patio. After a starter of a tasty boudin (and really, finding someone in Atlanta whos even HEARD of Boudin is almost as difficult as finding the savory sausage!), we shared a crawfish etoufee and stuffed shrimp montage. The etoufee was tasty; not quite like what I get in New Orleans, but yummy and satisfying nonetheless. It will be a favorite when I crave something like grandmas cooking Im sure. The stuffed shrimp montage, however, was my favorite. Fresh, buttery, high-quality shrimp is nearly impossible to find in the Atlanta area, and the quality of the shrimp was a pleasant surprise. The waitress said the shrimp were so big that I wouldnt be able to finish the plate, and I took pleasure in proving her wrong! I topped things off with a key lime pie made with real key lime juice. Tart and tasty, the pie was smooth and delicious. The menu is indeed a bit pricey, but I didnt feel I was overpaying because of the quality and generous portions of the food. Overall Pappadeaux was a great experience, and I will look forward to going back.

I Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to pappadeaux.. From the live music, to the exemplary customer service, to the large and DELICIOUS portions. Oh Em Gee!!! Let me break it down how delicious my meal was.. For our appetizer we ordered the spinach dip which wasnt your ordinary dip. It was accompanied by crab meat and succulent cheese and spinach!! Instead of chips they served a nice buttery, garlic toast that complimented the dip in so many ways! For my first entrée I ordered the Moroccan salmon which had LARGE shrimp scattered throughout the dish and also topped with crab meat. The couscous was actually delicious and had this lemon butter glaze drizzled on top for extra flavor. I ordered the loaded baked potato which had a lot of bacon bits!! (for all my bacon lovers) You know other places try to be stingy with their bacon bits. My husband had the 16oz Angus Beef Rib-ey.. He ate every drop.. The meat was so tender and juicy cooked just right! (medium well) and seasoned to the TEE!!! His side was mashed potatoes but even those had a twist to them. To go, he ordered a small shrimp plate which still had 16 LARGE shrimp! (Yes I counted) and I ordered the gumbo.. I ate the gumbo the next day and it was so dang good!!!! It had shrimp, sausage, crab meat, and craw fish in it!! When I tell you my mouth was in HEAVEN the entire time!!! I must go back!! Although our total was $130.00 it was worth EVERY PENNY!!!
