Was treated to a meal there recently. Food was mediocre at best and overpriced to the max! Customer service rated at zero minus!!! Despite having a bill totalling over 300$, was told that we couldnt send a 15$ bowl of gumbo back for another equal menu item, nor could we have said item removed from the bill total! Was PERSONALLY told this by DALE, the MANAGER. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, and the nerve to charge A MANDATORY TIP for bills over a certain amount, which in our case was in excess of 40$! Was given business card with the owners # to call, which I did to try to address this poor treatment. I left a detailed message and my # last Friday Sept 26th IMMEDIATELY after leaving the restaurant. So did my companion, the person who paid for the meal. As of today, Oct 3, no response has been received. On our way out of the restaurant I noticed a supposedly whimsical piece of decor on the wall of the area in which we were seated. It was a placard which stated, " WE DONT CARE WHAT YOU THINK ". And NO, Im NOT making that up! I saw it when we arrived, and found it amusing. After my familys mistreatment there? I know it as a 100℅ statement of fact. Based on our experience, its obviously their mission statement! I was taken there because my ex had a previous good experience there, and wanted to give me a chance to experience the same. Instead we received what I characterize as one of the SINGLEMOST DISAGREEABLE DINING EXPERIENCES IN MY 55 YEARS ON THE PLANET! I was taken to this place by a person who was EXCITED at the prospect of introducing me to what HAD been a great dining joy for her previously. What we GOT thought, was a time so UNPLEASANT that left the taste of ASHES and DISAPPOINTMENT in our mouths. I guess its true- the way YOU ARE TREATED can make or break a situation, yknow? Ive had and paid for less than stellar meals and/or experiences before. Who hasnt? But in those times, at most l left feeling just somewhat let down because maybe I didnt like the food/ situation as much as I thought I would. But at least I didnt leave MAD AS HELL. Ive NEVER until this time left a place feeling THOROUGHLY ANTAGONIZED. Ive never felt like telling people to STAY AWAY from a place UNTIL NOW. A little sugar makes the medicine go down, it is said. With A LITTLE CO-OPERATION from management my familys whole experience wouldve been POSITIVE. But because NO CO-OPERATION was given, it was HORRIBLE. Im of the opinion that it doesnt matter if ANYTHING is good if TREATMENT AND ATTITUDES are BAD! Im not bad mouthing their FOOD, just their POLICIES and APPARENT LACK OF WISDOM AND CONCERN FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION! last time I checked it was CUSTOMERS who MADE OR BROKE BUSINESSES based on whether they came or stayed away. Bad press and reviews are NOT the way to grow your business. Nor is PISSING OFF HAPPILY PAYING CUSTOMERS, WHO WERE BRINGING MORE OF THEIR HAPPILY PAYING FRIENDS! I would think this would be self-evident, but APPARENTLY NOT. The friend who " treated" me to the meal may return, because as I said, shed thought HIGHLY of your cuisine. Her intent was let me in on something she considered worth sharing. YOU LET HER COMPLETELY DOWN. let me be CRYSTAL CLEAR on that point. But these are MY WORDS, reflecting MY FEELINGS about how things went. Im not trying to tar her with my brush. Hey, she may even be of a mind to further patronize your place. But if were she, I wouldnt . at the very least, I wouldnt hype it up or bring anymore friends there. At least ones she wants to KEEP. In closing: DO. NOT. GO. THERE. EVER. at least until they recognize that NO CUSTOMERS NO BUSINESS, SO ITS IN THEIR BEST INTERESTS TO WORK WITH CUSTOMERS, NOT ALIENATE THEM!

Ive been a loyal customer up until yesterday. This was my 4th visit this month and I must say it will be my last. My best friend and I were served by a waitress named Kylee she seemed very nice, however the day shift has always been iffy whenever we go. We have received cold buckets and still paid the required gratuity regardless. The waitress took my best friends card to the back. Now that was strange being that the outside deck has a visible register. She then returned to my best friend and asked her to come enter he pin. We were both puzzled being that she herself had just used the same card a week before and no restaurant in Atlanta has ever asked for the pin number. We left still iffy about the service. I complained that my bucket was not hot. Anyone that is a regular at spondivits can verify how horrible they are whenever a customer has a complaint. The managers are rude and they have a new line of waitresses that have no clue of how to serve but still demand the required tip. Ive been going to Spondivits since 1997. I have come to know several managers and waitresses that have come and gone. One of the waitresses Shari is still actively serving today. I have got mad stop going only to come back this time I am done. The manager Kimberly was so unconcerned, she was not sympathetic of my best friends concern. She stated the charges for Spondivits and was short and rude. She then asked my best friend what was she insinuating, my best friend told her that her card was charged at an ingles this morning and she believed that Kylee was responsible for the scam. Kimberly then became agitated and stated the employee Im question was not their and attempted to rush us off the phone. When I tried to explain she immediately cut me off and stated she was going to only speak to my best friend. She was not bothered, not attentive and offensive. She refused to listen any further them stated it would be investigated. I was not shocked because as I mentioned before Spondivits has the arrogant reputation especially when it comes to blacks. This was the last draw for me. Im good they can keep those over priced buckets. They were cheaper in "97" and had more in them. The prices have continue to go up and the buckets get smaller and smaller. I can honestly say they will not be missed. Thank you Kimberly. I saved a lot of money by switching to restaurants that value and appreciate their customers. Kyles see you in East Point court house soon.

Went to Spondivits today, it was our 13 year anniversary. Id been looking forward to going all month. I love their food. Not crazy about being forced to valet park or the rules but for this special occasion, OK. Now I have this aversion to being referred to as "guys". I am a 55 year old woman and simply dont like it when Im out and paying good money to eat and these young servers come to the table and greet me and my husband with, "how are you guys doing today?" After all Im clearly not a "guy". That kind of greeting is somewhat expected at a McDonalds but I feel like if Im paying upwards of $75 for a meal, I should not have to be addressed as a "guy". So today at Spondivits we valet park and we are immediately addressed with, "how are you guys, today." Both my husband and I say, "OK its going to be that kind of day." We get inside and this 19 year old server comes to our table and says, "Hi, how are you "guys" today"? As politely as I know how I look in to the young ladys eyes and tell her, "My name is Ellen. I am not a guy and would not like to be referred to as such, please." She looks at me like Im an alien and takes our drink order (two iced teas). She comes back with the drinks and says, "Are you guys ready to order?" At this point Im incredulous and ask to speak with a manager. Dale, the manager, comes to the table looking like he just came from emptying the trash. He looked like a hot mess. I explain to Dale, in light of the fact that we will probably end up spending at least $75 and in light of the fact that a 20% gratuity will automatically be added to my bill, I would not like to be addressed as a guy. Dale proceeded tell me that "guy" is a generic term. I told him a table full of men would not be addressed as gals or ladies. Dale proceeded to gather the eating utensils and told us to leave. To say we were taken aback, would be an understatement. Needless to say we got the heck up out of there and went and spent our money at Red Lobster. That was the single worse case of customer service I have ever experienced.
