So here is a story about an IHOP franchise on Panola Rd in Lithonia, GA. Ive worked there for a few months, I was hired on as a cook by Jamie Head. The restaurant is owned by Nash Hassan. Since being hired there, I never had the opportunity to be trained. It was made clear that in order to be successful in this kitchen, I would need to start learning spanish. So begins my tale. I start learning spanish before I can learn their procedures. After Ive been there for several months, I can say Im not comfortable with my skills there. My spanish is good though. As the only caucasian employee there, I was constantly singled out by the manager named Jarroen. He felt the need to yell things at me instead of teaching me the correct way while I watched him be jovial and friendly to all black employees. He wouldnt even look at me when I talk to him. Then comes August 18th 2012. This kitchen is sooo poorly maintained that there are tiles sticking up from the floor, nearly an inch in several places, primarily by the fryer of all places. On the 18th I was carrying a metal insert pan full of food when I tripped and nearly fell on my face. Luckily I recovered and didnt fall, however I did hurt my ankle pretty bad. I did my best and finished my shift. At the end of my shift, I requested some sort of incident form, Jarroen stated IHOP didnt have such a thing. So I am instructed to write my report on a piece of paper. He then writes his own claiming I was waiving rights to medical attention and demanded I sign it. I of course re-wrote my initial report to reflect that I was in no way wavering my rights. Then I leave for the day. Upon my return on the 19th Jarroen has some sort of obvious issue with me personally, yelling things through the window several times. I then told him next time give me an instruction and show me the right way or Ill never learn. Jamie Head, the GM, then jumped on me saying I cant "check" her managers or itll "go down". I again, finished my day. At 230pm when the rush died, I began cleaning. The african american female working with me went and sat with the managers in the office for the next hour or so while I cleaned the kitchen. When I was ready to leave I told jerroen I was done. He then came in the kitchen and started demanding start handling boiling hot grease without proper safety equipment. I asked him where the gloves were, he then took me in the office and began screaming profanities at me. I asked him not to yell at me. HE then told me I was suspended, then fired, and to leave the restaurant. I made the decision to call the GM and he owner. Jerroen then followed me into the dining room and got directly in my face with teeth showing and began saying, "Boy get out of my GD restaurant." I walked to the front where the waiting area is to talk to the other manager, Ron. Jerroen followed me up there and began cussing in front of guests and attempted to put his hands on me. I walked back to get away from him and he followed me back into the store. He continued yelling profanities at me, ran outside to a parked car and ran back in screaming, "You said I hit you?" I replied, "No, I said you bucked like you were going to hit me." He then drew his right fist back to punch me. Luckily ron was there and physically restrained him. I then had to call the police. Every guest in the store and every server saw and heard every word. I of course willingly left the building, talked with the police officer. The officer said there probably wasnt much I could do. So, that being said, OSHA has been notified of my injury as well as the hazerdous working conditions. I will continue to pursue legal matters with this company until Jerroen is dealt with. I would hate to think that a company as good as IHOP would foster this type of behavior from the representatives of their company. Or even allow a franchisee to so blatantly ruin the great image others have worked so hard to build. Feel free to comment. Ive never experienced worse "service" in my entire life. I was a server for years so I have mad empathy for them and typically over tip even if service is questionable. So heres the scene ;The evening in question was my boyfriends birthday, wed had a nice even out and he wanted to eat so we stopped at IHOP on panola. We waited ten minutes after being seated and had to wave someone down to even get a drink order put in. Tia ended up being our server and to summarize the experience she had the attitude of a teenager, she didnt bring out half our food order, we had no silverware with that half of the food. When we told her we were missing stuff She didnt go to the back and harass the kitchen to get the rest of our order... I saw shed went over and started doing side work! Mind you we had no silverware!!! We watched as she and some other server giggled about stuff, and I caught the host whod previously been our server and asked him for And A... Aid and assistance. I hate that I dont recall his name, but he was awesome at his job and I didnt understand why he was hosting and not serving... Anyway he brought out the simple stuff like steak sauce and silverware. Hes the only white guy Ive ever seen working there BTW, excellent server and great personality! I ended up storming out, my boyfriend actually paid the bill which I was livid about later cuz I didnt receive half of my food. And well never return to that place! FYI you dont want Tia as your server.

I was in town and few days ago and staying in Lithonia. It was late when I got back from work and the only place really open that I knew was IHOP. I was alone and normally feel weird eating alone, but I really wanted the crepes from IHOP. The staff was so nice! Several services checked on me and made sure I was ok and didnt need anything. I dont normally feel the need to write a review, but they honestly went above and beyond! Id had a bad day and I guess they could tell. Several told me about local areas to check out and interesting facts of interest close by, but the best part of the meal was when I went to pay...my server paid for my breakfast! When I went back to give him a tip, he said that everyone needed to be picked up sometimes. Thank you, IHOP! You turned a HORRIBLE day into a great one. I never got my servers name, but I hope you hear about this review and know that you really did change my day. Ill definitely be back!

I am only giving the 2 stars because this restaurant fed a homeless man while we were there. The womens bathroom smelled like a sewage dump there was piss on the floor. For a smell like that it hadnt been cleaned in days.It needed to be doused in Clorox Lysol and Ammonia. We ordered party or 4 it was busy my husband ordered 1st we all got our food he didnt get his until I was almost finished with mine as well are off my plate. Our friends had things floating in their special teas. Her order was wrong we sent it back ordered again thats when the waitress tells us they are shortstaffed on the kitchen. They brought out pancakes when I was finished with my food by then Id forgotten my order came with pancakes he didnt know what Id ordered so he just took it back. When my hubby got his food he didnt want it. We paid anyway took no to go boxes. When the cashier asked how was everything we said it was bad. She said okay.
