Where do I start......This has to be the single worse restaurant experience that Ive had in a loooonnng time. So I call before I get there to see if they have a wait, because its Sunday afternoon. They said there was no wait but it was taking 20 minutes for food to come out the kitchen. Okay no problem, so half of our party gets there about 10 minutes before we arrive and they ordered their drinks and appetizer. The rest of us got there at 2:25 pm and ordered our drinks and food. By 3:41 pm we still did not have our food orders...We had drinks and the first half of our party had their appetizer, which was an order of fried pickles. It was at this time, after watching 4 other tables get there drinks, appetizers, and 1 get their entire order, eat and then leave that we asked for the manager. Thats when we learned that the manager knew of the issues in the kitchen and didnt want to talk to the customers about it. We learned that before us, several tables had gotten up and left. Ok so, the manager, Cecilia, did finallymake her way to our table but offered no help she just said "I know, the kitchen is slow and Im sorry." She said shed put a rush on our food....We had already been waiting an hour but hey what can you do. So we finally get our food at around 4 and low and behold one of the girls gets lukewarm under cooked chicken and the rest of us had unseasoned food. It was like all they did was throw it in the grease with no salt or pepper. The potato salad was nasty and the baked beans were not tasty. The fries also needed salt. Enough is enough!!!!!!! Long story short, we ended up getting our food comped thanks to the wonderful waitstaff....Lexus, Sierra, and Danielle....Yes, it took so long to get our food that other waitresses were checking on us and trying to offer help. Cecilia on the other hand was useless. She seemed like she was confused and lethargic. She is not good leadership material. I highly recommend that if you have a life outside of eating chicken that you not go to this place. This was our first time going and I promise you it is our LAST!!! On a good note the sweet potato pie was pretty decent, sweet tea good, and the chocolate chess pie DELISH.....But as far as this place having world famous chicken....Id rather eat Popeyes or Bojangles!!!

The chicken was great, one of the best Ive had so far. The chicken breast was nice and juicy. Skin was crispy but the prices was high. Over 2.50 a wing. Service was horrible. My wife and I got there around 8:20 pm knowing that they close at 9. Entered and saw that it wasnt busy so we thought we were going to get service right away. Waited by the door for approximately six minutes before a waiter came and took us to a table. I have a habit of timing how long it took from when we first arrived to when our food is served. As my wife and I waited, a group of four walked in. That group of four had their orders taken before ours. The time on my watch is now 11 minutes going onto 12 from when we first sat down. As we sat there, three waiters came out of the kitchen and started cleaning the tables around us. Not one waiter came over to us to take our order. The time on my watch is now 16 minutes. It wasnt until a manager, who noticed us with our menu, came to asks if we have been helped. My wife said no so the manager went to the kitchen to get a waiter. When the waiter finally came to take our order the time on my watch was 19:12. It took over 19 minutes of waiting before we were helped. Now my limit is usually around 15 minutes before I take off but since I saw good reviews, I wanted to try it out. It took another 24 minutes before we got our food. The waiter mixed up our orders and they forgot to bring the wings that we order. By this time my wife and I was too hungry to even care. We finished our food, paid the bill and left. No tips were given. Final thoughts, this restaurant deserve one star but the chicken was good. Service need major improvement.

Went for a late lunch. Maybe because it was after 2pm when I got there (or maybe they have read the reviews re: poor service and have responded), but service was fast, friendly, & attentive (thanks, Pam!!). Great music playing. I ordered the 2-piece dark...and enjoyed some of the best chicken I have every had. Spicy, but not too over the top. Very crispy and juicy, not at all greasy. HOT temperature - definitely eat the sides first and let it cool down a bit before digging in (which will be difficult, I know, but you wont taste the excellence if you scorch your tongue). Side dishes were PROPER portion sizes, IMO (we have gotten far too used to gargantuan everything; these were more than enough). Cole slaw was decent - fresh, a good contrast with the chicken. I substituted the beans (which are cooked with pork) for the fried okra - excellent, crispy, not greasy. Had unsweetened tea to save the calories (!) for a piece of pie...tough to decide, but went with the sweet potato, and hands down it was the best version of SP pie I have ever tasted. Not too sweet, not at all cloying, wonderfully rich and balanced (but hot - be careful and let it cool). $7.50 for the 2-piece meal, plus 50 cents for veggie sub, which is not much more than fast food chicken. Soft drinks are pricey (Ill stick with water next time) and pie was a very reasonable price for the portion size. Im going to have to restrain myself to keep from coming here more often!

Walked in almost fell over what can I say Im a klutz. The ramp is right at the door and leads you down to the greater who at first wasnt there. As tourists we didnt know weather we were supposed to sit down or wait. No more then a few minutes later the greater came around and let us know the wait time. The place was packed but we were first in the line. We waited about 10 minuets before being seated. Once seated we had a bit before our drink order was even taken, but once taken care of everything rolled pretty smooth. The sides were of normal cookout quality. The chicken had a bit of kick and getting refills was sometimes rather difficult due to the fact I could barely hear myself let alone a staff member. Due to all the noise and being polite he apologized for any inconvenience especially since it was our first visit. He ended up giving us free pie. Which was surprisingly good. With the overall staffs willingness to be hospitable, and just the lack of not enough people. The decent food, and the more fast paced environment I would say go itll take an hour tops but its better than fast food and quicker then a restaurant. Which will definitely get you moving to your next destination in this busy city!

You may want to give this location 90 days to get it together. I heard great things about the Chicken, and wasnt that impressed. The collards were mushy and overcooked. The mac and cheese tasted gross, reminded me of mac and cheese in the Kraft blue box from when I was like 10. I asked for fries instead and they come out burnt. Lunch took 1.5 hours and the waitress had no clue how to wait tables. She seemed extremely overwhelmed. My ticket was incorrect, when I asked her to fix it, it was still wrong. At this point, being ready to just leave, I gave her my credit card and she comes back having charged me the wrong amount. I paid about $3 more than I should and left a note on the receipt that had she charged the correct amount, she would have received a tip. I dont think they are quite ready for the hustle and bustle of lunchtime in downtown Atlanta. Definitely need to hire more qualified wait staff.
