Husband and I decided on Pappadeaux after watching ROGUE ONE at the Avalon. We arrived at Pappadeaux at 2:10p on a very rainy day and was seated promptly in a booth by our sweet server Jennifer. We already knew what we wanted and immediately ordered the Shrimp and Crawfish fondue appetizer, fried shrimp for him, and Moroccan Salmon and Shrimp for me. Everything tasted SOOOO GOOD. If it is so delicious then why the three stars Google readers ask. Sadly we were forgotten - repeatedly. After we were served our drinks and fondue, we watched the busboys, cooks, and servers dismantle the Sunday buffet tables and noticed very few customers left in main dining room area. We nibbled on our fondue and requested a to-go box as there was so much fondue!!! We waited and bantered about the Rogue One movie. Finally our food comes and my dish was missing shrimp and lemon butter - and server was confused so I asked for the menu to show to the gentleman server that it is indeed listed in lunch menu as Moroccan salmon AND shrimp so off he goes to get the shrimp. (It is a new dish.) Gentleman server comes back with three grilled shrimp and still no lemon butter sauce and claims is it already in the dish. Um, no it isnt. Peter the bartender comes over asking if everything is okay and I explained the food issue but did say I want to confirm with our original server to confirm my order and to try the maple mustard sauce and THAT SAUCE IS SO GOOD! (Still didnt get my lemon butter sauce though but salmon was so good with the maple glaze and the mint and cilantro leaves!) A while later, yet another different very sweet lady server stops by to fill up husbands sweet tea yet neglected my water refill (a pet peeve of mine). She returns a while later after boxing my fondue and my salmon shrimp dish to ask us if we wanted any dessert and I said yes, please as I couldnt wait to see what desserts they had! So there we are sitting happily waiting the dessert tray, and waited and waited. It is now almost quarter to four and clearly no one is coming back to check on us. We see Peter the bartender nearby doing double duty as both bartender and server and I thought he was the manager! Peter stops by and says hello asks how we are doing and if we wanted any dessert. I politely mentioned and complained that we had not seen our original server since and we were already asked by yet a different server a while ago for dessert and when am I ever getting my water refilled as it has been ages since anyone came by. He mentioned that this is all not sounding good to him and he rushes off to kitchen to get the dessert tray. Peter returns shortly and we immediately selected the banana pudding in a mason jar and waited. And waited and waited some more. It is now almost four oclock and no dessert, and I had no water refill. We decided that we cannot tolerate this any longer. Peter returns and sees that we still had no dessert and comps the dessert immediately. Peter apologizes and comments that they are doing double shifts today and some helpers are staying to close later tonight. We told Peter we are leaving as weather is getting worse and we planned to see husbands mom at the nursing home. Finally the banana pudding dessert arrives but in a to-go container. It would have been really nice if I got to eat dessert there but clearly that wasnt going to happen. Pappadeaux, Peter needs to be promoted to manager as he clearly saw that we were neglected and stepped up to the plate (pun intended) all with a smile. We will return but next time it will be closer to opening lunch or later at dinner to get better service. Also, we still had not yet eaten our banana pudding dessert as it will be served at our supper tonight. And one more thing: as we were leaving Pappadeaux while I was backing out of the parking lot, a gray car passes us in a hurry and barely gave me time to straighten my car to turn. Husband was upset as we were nearly hit by someone who we assumed was a worker as he parked in the front of restaurant and ran inside. Merry Christmas.

This was my first time I have ever been here. Although it was a full house, I was still excited to be in attendance due to the tremendous reviews I have heard. I got there around 9:30. I called in advance for the wait time before actually attending. The wait time was 10 mins. Thank you Jennifer the Host for the accurate information. Jennifer walked me and date to our seats with the Menu and advised that someone will soon be here to talk our shortly. As we read the menu we both came down to two choices: Tilapia with Shrimp or Texas bass & jumbo crab. At about 9:45-10:00 we both ordered the Texas bass and jumbo crab with two Caesar salads baked potato and mash potato for our substitute side dish with an alcohol breverage which was recommended by Solange, our waiter. As 15- 30 mins go by we receive our salads, which were delicious and the beverage that was recommend. I really wish I remembered that name because the beverage was awesome. Waiter Solange did also tell us that our meal should come out shortly considering that we received our salads. So as it gets to about 10:55 the manager came with two menus to tell me and my date that they ran out of bass so they will not be able to serve us this and for us to choose something else. Everything that I was excited about this place died at the snap of a finger. I was upset to the fact we had been sitting there the entire time expecting to receive our choice of a meal. The part that made it even worse for me was the fact that manager came back 1min 30sec later to see were we ready to order. Upon telling us we couldn’t receive the meal of our choice, you finally tell your waiter who had no clue there was no more BASS. Although the manger told us, Solange came right back to us and said I am so sorry about that but no one told me that because if that was the case I would have brought you the menu to provide you with an update way beforehand. I am very grateful that the manger decided to pay for everything except for the alcohol drinks but I want you to know that I will not go back at all.

Seafood is going to be expensive no matter where you go. You should know that going into this place. Now if youre willing to spend some youll get a decent return here for the most part. The restaurant itself is inspired by More Orleans French décor. The entry way path you take is popular with visitors because it makes a great photo op. Like an Italian vineyard in terms of look. The interior of the restaurant is spacious with a multitude of seating arrangements and options. You cant go wrong with most of the place settings to eat here. The staff and service is good but nothing spectacular. You could ask your waiter for something and they may end up forgetting about it. Each server/host is dedicated to a certain section so they are in demand when the traffic is high during it busy hours. The food here is from the sea. Obviously right? Most options are what you would expect from a seafood restaurant. You can get most of sea creatures here like fish, lobster, oysters, and even alligator to name one of the many options. A lot of the dishes are cooked in a variety of ways like deep fried, charbroiled, or even rare. Up to you. You xan go for platters, traditional plates, or even some exotic choices. All of this can be ordered with of course alcohol. They have a few options and by a few I mean a lot. Feel free to explore that menu as well. Overall, the experience and atmosphere really sets the tone from when you come in to when you sit down to when you eat and when you leave. This all varies of course. Most people see Pappadeaux as a franchise now which in ways it is but that shouldnt take away from some good food and an enjoyable time.
