This restaurant was been at this location forever. Not sure how they survive with such mediocre mexican/spanish food. I have visited mexico numerous times and consider myself a well travelled. I visited this restaurant over 12 yrs ago and the food was medicore at best, fast forward to present and the food is worse. The margaritas were horrible, the service was extremely slow for a restaurant that had only 3 tables filled, the shrimp cocktail appetizer was horrible, my breaded steak if thats what you want to call it was the worse I have EVER had, the steak was paper thin, not sure what the breading consisted of but I wouldnt call it breading. I hate to give any restaurant a bad review these days as I know everyone is struggling but there way too many restaurants in Palm Beach county these days and this place needs to step up to the plate, so to speak. I work hard for my money and when I go out and spend it I expect to get good quality food. Sadly this was not the case at Amigos! Mexican/Spanish food isnt complicated to cook, they are just being lazy and serving poor quality food. I will not re-visit Amigos again.

This place has the worst service. I went there on a Wednesday night for their $1 Margarita special and I went with some friends who are regulars but on this night they became final customers for this place. First when we got to the restaurant we sat at the bar thinking we would be served faster, WRONG! We waited 20 plus minutes to even be acknowledged and when we finally did our waitress was just slow. Mind you it was not busy whatsoever because we got there when the rush had just passed. Our waitress decided to charge me for a whole new meal just because I wanted grilled shrimp instead of breaded shrimp and my friend complained that her chicken tasted sour and that she wanted to order something else and they told her that she would still have to pay for her meal even if they were to give her something else to eat. The whole time the manager/owner of the restaurant was sitting there while one of her employees were arguing with us and didnt do anything to make the situation better. We ended up having to pay for the full bill.

Just visited the Okeechobee location for the first time. Was given seven chips in my basket (literally), asked for more, I was given seven more (literally), asked for more and then was given seven more (again, literally.) When I asked for another basket, I was told it would be $3.50. The manager at this location was surly and did not seem to be overly concerned, as he told me that the chips were complementary and I should appreciate that they are free, in spite of the fact that I bought a $20 dinner. The skimpy baskets they gave me to start with did not equate to even one basket that I saw being put on other diners tables. After eating at their Congress Avenue location dozens of times before they closed it up, I am very disappointed. I will not be back to amigos, and will be sure to tell all my Mexican food-loving friends not to bother, especially as there are 30+ Mexican restaurants in west palm beach. Adios.

CHIPS STALE REGULAR SALSA BLAND; THE HOTTER ONE A LITTLE BETTER BUT NOT BY MUCH MARGARITA BITTER LG. PORTION OF A TO GO ORDER OF SPANISH RICE WOULD NOT FEED A TODDLER ASKED FOR PEPPERS TO BE LEFT OF OF A MEAL AND MEAL CAME WITH PEPPERS..ISNT IT THE WAITERS RESPONSIBILITY TO BE SURE FOOD SERVED CORRECTLY?? THE FLAVOR OF THE PEPPERS ON THERE THAT I PICKED OFF RUINED THE FLAVORS OF FAJITAS SOMEWHAT. NO CORRECTION OFFERED. A SHAME AS THE FAJITAS WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT ASKED FOR NAPKINS, 10 MINUTES LATER STILL NONE- ASKED WAITER RE: THIS AND HE DID NOT EVEN SAY SORRY NEVER AGAIN FOR FUTURE DINING TO ALL : HIGHLY ( !!!) RECOMMEND MEXICAN RESTAURANT ON CORNER OF OKEECHOBEE & ROYAL PALM BEACH BLVD. WORTH THE EXTRA FEW MILES....OR TORROS ON VILLIAGE BLVD.-ALSO VERY GOOD & CLOSER FOR THOSE WHO DONT WANT TO GO TO RPB

I do not know how this place stays in business. I also dont know how they can call what they serve Mexican food. At 4 nearly 5 dollars a taco I expected a big, burrito sized one but what I got was a tiny taco that wouldnt feed my 2 year old if I gave him one. The taco didnt come with sour cream, cheese, salsa, nothing, it was not even hot when it was served. The tostada was just as bad, instead of ground beef it had shredded beef that didnt taste right, and whatever sauce they used on it made the tostada soggy, you couldnt even call it a tostada anymore. If you want real Mexican food I suggest Tacos Al Carbon, because this place does not know what its doing, actually I guarantee that any other Mexican restaurant in Palm Beach County is better.
HI
Hi There
Nancy and Jessus give great service. They are both quick ,very nice and professional. We have been going once a week for years. The food is excellent! The staff and management are always so nice and curious.. We love Amigos!!! We have never had one bad experience. We have also brought family and friends and they too loved and enjoyed the food and service. :) Our son loves the Califorina burrito its amazing!! We have tried most of the things on the menu, food comes to the table quickly and is delicious. This is a great place for vegetarians too.

I honestly can not believe some of the reviews on here. I have been coming to this restaurant for a long time with my family and our experience is always the best! For less than 10 dollars you can get a great lunch! I personally recommend their carne asada, fajitas, and their pork chunks, which all three are always delicious. I also love the service there! Fast and friendly every time! My family and I will probably continue to come here regularly as we already do. Great restaurant!

I had read several really good reviews about this place but there was something "off" about the experience. Were still trying to figure it out and I think it might be the ambience: the restaurant is very open which gives you the impression of sitting in a cafeteria. The food was not pricy but it wasnt so great that I would consider it a "deal". And of course, the service was borderline: almost bad enough to be considered inattentive but not so bad that I would never go back.

If youre looking for good, true, authentic Mexican food with the true traditional touch, this is a great restaurant. Ive never been big on Mexican food, and used to order from the basic menu with chicken tenders and all that, but I tried some traditional stuff for once, and now I love all kinds of Mexican food. They know what theyre doing. Its a nice atmosphere to take the family for a meal and enjoy it. The staff are nice and the bathrooms are are well kept. Would reccomend.

I have been a fan of this place for years. This is where REAL Spanish food is served!! Very traditional "mom and pop" style restaurant. The service is always top notch, and the food is always extraordinary. Jesus has worked there for a long time, and is usually my server. He is the best! I will be coming back as long as they are around. Where else do you get served 3 homemade dips with your chips before you eat? Is all the little things that count.
