Weve were driven to find it and are happy we were. In a strip center, one thinks ho hum. But, as soon as the door opened and the bouquet of foods hit, I knew we were in for a treat. We went Early Bird hours and found the place nicely set up. Booths and 4 or 2 top tables. Chairs are a wee bit uncomfortable for my large-ish frame, but the ladies sat all pretty. Right off, the basket of chips was big enough and the chips were THIN and crispy. Great start. Salsa was okay for heat / spice. Mild but tasty. Sevice was quick. Dos X, both Modelos, Sol and several other Mexican beers plus the usual kind. Cold! Dinners were shrimp Quesadea - tip top flavor / large servings. Pollo (chicken) Monterey - smiles and she brought home the left overs. Steak Fajitas - enough for me, flavorful meat, sizzling, sides of fresh Guacamole (yum), mixed shredded okay cheeses and sour cream. We had only enough room for a flan. Pretty tasty and attractively presented. Decor is standard Mexican Restaurant styles. Nicely painted chairs, though. Service was Jim dandy fine. I spent around 20 per person including beers and nachos con carne appetizers.

I have loved Mi Pueblo for a number of years now, especially when the Mariachis are there. We went this Monday at about 7:00 PM and took a couple of seats at the bar as it was very crowded. We ordered large margarita drinks and to my dismay I watched the lady working as bartender just quickly dip a couple of dirty just used glasses into 2 sinks full of dirty looking water and then immediately filled them with ice and poured in the tequila. Wow not hardly a touch of washing..........we were shocked. We did drink the drinks with straws. But it looked so sleazy. The sink area was surrounded my many dirty glasses with pieces of fruit and straws etc in them. This one bartender could hardly keep up with the volume of orders coming at her and consequently the sink area was becoming a kind of dirty glass garbage area. Well it really made me wonder what is happening to this place.

Outstanding restaurant. We are the chicken fajitas and the pollo con mole. The fajitas were nicely charred and served with a bunch of fresh ingredients. The mole was obviously made in-house and tasted great. The meal was served quickly and with generous portions. We both had enough left over to take home as another meal. The staff was excellent. The front house manager was seen assisting with the busing of tables. Our waitress was very prompt, friendly, and never let us run out of everything we needed. A few minutes after receiving our food the kitchen manager came over and asked if everything was prepared to our liking. No one appeared to be going through the motions and everyone was sincere in their questions. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant that impresses with both their food and friendliness.

Food was okay but service gave it 4 stars. The place is very nice on the outside and inside. The salsa is delicious and so was the house margarita. Service seemed very fast on a busy Thursday evening. I am a huge Mexican fan so I asked for cheese dip. It was $6 and was gritty. Must have been homemade but didnt have much flavor in my opinion. I ordered the chicken fajita quesidilla and the chicken was not seasoned like I would expect from a Mexican restaurant. I think it was pre bought or cooked. It tasted as American as any plain chicken that you would make at home. Other dishes looked good though but the only reason I gave 4 stars is because the waiter took my meal off of the bill because he noticed I didnt eat much of it.

We went to the Mi Pueblo on Bee Ridge a few weeks ago. It was small crowded, and extremely noisy. The service was marginally fair and the food was totally bland and uninteresting. A friend said we should try the one on Tuttle. I am accustomed to Border-Mex, Tex-Mex, Arizona-Mex, Calif-Mex. I have no idea what kind of Mex this is, but it is real close to tasteless. Nice big restaurant with good decor, but noisy beyond belief. If there had been another place that I knew of to go to without driving more miles than I had already done, I would have left immediately. Service was ok, but not great. I will never go to a Mi Pueblo again if it can possibly be avoided.

Ive traveled and explored all throughout Mexico & let me tell you...this place es autentico - thats for sure! From their beautiful decor with all the handcrafted pieces of artwork and such - to the perfectly handcrafted food & drinks... Mi Peublo es the real deal! We had a wonderful time and really it felt like I was back in Mejico! La verdad!! Oh and the Mariachis were really rockin (literally), they will play your favoritos from the past and do it up Mariachi-style.. go there people. My mouth waters when I think of their Carne Asada, because it was truly prepared the way its supposed to be! I cant wait to go back »»

Been in Sarasota for a week from the UK. Some great dinning experiences here in Florida and we have enjoyed some great eateries.Mi Plueblo however is possibly the worst restaurant experience I have ever endured. The Mariachi Band was good. The rest was awfull. Food was indifferent as no matter what you ordered it all looked the same and hey !... tasted the same. The worst was the waiter asking us during our mains If we needed anything as the bar and kitchen was closing... 9.05 pm. , if you want a drink and a Mariachi Band singing happy birthday all night... go for it. If you want some good food and service forget it.

I am always on the lookout for a place to get great vegan food. When I saw that Mi Pueblo had a vegan menu, I was floored. But I really wasnt expecting the food to be as good as it was. Most Mexican places that serve "vegan options" are basically just going to give you a burrito without cheese and meat. However, the options at Mi Pueblo were really well-composed and delicious. We had kale-wrapped tacos that were drizzled with sunflower vegan sour cream. It was so fresh and delicious! I am definitely coming back for some more great cruelty-free food alongside a cold margarita.

The place was hopping on a recent Friday night. They told us 25 minute wait, but called us in 10. This is the second time we are there and everything we had was delish. Be sure to try the Chicken Mole. It is outstanding. Not many Americans know about this dish, but it is the real deal in Mexico. Mole is a unique, savory, chocolate sauce, and it is a staple of Mexican cuisine. Our waitress excellent and had a beautiful smile. The décor is old Mexico, and the noise in the stone and tile restaurant happy and loud, but the good is so good, it doesnt matter at all.

STAY CLEAR! DO NOT GO. This place was awful, awful, awful. The food tasted so old, it was terrible. I got the Enchilada Suiza, 2 of them, I ate one whole and some rice and beans, it tasted so old, it was awful. I got home and a few minutes passed my stomach started to really hurt, I felt like throwing up, which I did twice, then I also got diarrhea from it, this might be too much information but I do not care, this place was AWFUL! Now I cant enjoy the rest of my night plans because of it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!
